I *love* the bonding Joel and Ellie have during this episode! She's reaching him through dad jokes and just generally being a kid. She's a post-infection kid, but still just a kid, and he is starting to really feel the need to protect her. I'm looking forward to you all seeing 1. more of Henry and Sam and 2. what's exactly under the ground in Kansas City.... ;)

The reason Joel didn't hear the crunch is bcause the night b4 when they were in the woods his plan was to sleep that whole night and drive all night the next night but he stayed awake all night keeping watch. Then when they went to go to sleep after he put the glass down he went out really hard. When Joel fell asleep he fell asleep with his left ear up bcause he can't hear out of his right ear very well and when Henry and Sam came in he had rolled over and his right ear was up so he couldn't hear them and was so tired that he slept through it.

Frank didn't convince Bill to kill himself. Bill chose to die rather than be alone. Personally I think it's a much better story for Bill than what he got in the game, where he just lives a miserable existence of survival and never connects with anyone. In the show he gets to spend 16 years with someone he loves and then goes out on his own terms.

nick offerman as bill was genius casting, I just think it would have been so badass if thats how we met him, an IRL version of joel hanging upside down shooting at infected upside down while elle tries release him, then bill saves the day.. they could have kept the same story line but just wait till after helping elle and joel they then end it XD

I agree with you so much Colton! That’s actually the ONLY change I liked more. Literally! The originals are always better, always! But the way they did Bill’s story in this was phenomenal!!! And I loved Frank so much, definitely glad they told their story in a brighter light.
