Anyone know if they’ve ever got into the new Dune movies?

Annie Bonz

Omg yes!!! This is an awesome movie! Tiny Tom Holland is such a good little actor!

Dan Gershgol

Great movie choice. Will watch the rest tonight.

Andreas

The Story about Daniel (The little blond boy) is true. He's from germany and was rescued from the american family. And there are still friends, the thing about a Tsunami is that insn't only a wave. The hole ocean is moving from the top to the ground. And all that water Hits the land, 230.000 maybe more people died. The seaquake was so hard that it was reconiezed all over the world.

Delia Sewell

The man on the truck wrote his children's names on the note handed the note to the Dad to check on his children at the hospital. That's how he had the note about being at the beach.

Dan63

Can you imagine hearing and seeing water coming at you like that in seconds.

Maritza Navarro

Excellent movie! This movie has me crying, J.A. Bayona is a great director. He makes you feel like you’re in the movie, another great movie that he directed was Society Of The Snow.

Rebecca Karsner

OMG I've been MIA because once again I am traveling for my company.. my forth week in a row.. I'm so tired.. but I'm gonna watch this tonight when I get checked into my hotel!! Anyone live in the Perioa area in Illinois?? We are looking for managers for The Children's Place if interested!! Please 🙏 so I can go home!!! Lmao 🤣 🤣 But anyways this is a great movie!! Can't wait to watch!!! Hope everyone is doing great!!!

Rebecca Karsner

Also where's my buddy Rio been??? And Stacey?? Lol

Rebecca Karsner

Have you seen Dune? I haven't seen the original or the new ones. My brother said I would probably not like it and that it's not for me.. but like idk if that's true lol. I love David Lynch and Dennis Villeneuve... so idk why he'd say that.. I like dystopian desert films lol.. I loved mad max!! And I love sci-fi films.. so idk what he means lol

BG

I personally loved both Dune and Dune Part Two! I do enjoy sci-fi movies, and I like Mad Max as well (at least the Mad Max game, I haven’t seen the movie yet). Give it a try. The first movie focuses more on world-building, but it pays off in Dune Part Two.

Darth Brooks

Gonna go out on a limb and say Rio dropped his sub, he also left the discord a while back as well. I'm sure he'll return when they drop a TV series he likes.

cernunnos66

Hi 👋🏼 pls watch The Social Network and Annihilation. Thx 🙏🏼 😊

Madison

This is such a great movie I'm so glad you guys decided to watch it! It's so scary to imagine being in that situation, and also amazing to see a story based on a real strong family who survived despite all odds being against them.

Juley

They went back to the same location in Thailand to film this. They completely rebuilt the hotel on the same spot. They filmed in the actual hospital and many of the doctors and nurses were the real doctors and nurses who saved so many people. One of the nurses caring for Naomi Watts in the film was the real nurse who cared for Maria. The people surrounding Ewan McGregor when he made the phone call home were real survivors. Maria Belón was on the set the whole time. The film is remarkably accurate. The real family is from Spain, though, not England. They also toned down the horror of it. They survived through 6 hours of relentless waves. That’s why they were so terrified of another wave coming in the film. Another thing they couldn’t show was that the turbulence of the water completely ripped off Maria’s and Lucas’s clothes. They were naked when they walked through all of the debris and found Daniel and climbed the tree. And, also, when Maria was being dragged. The movie shows the people who saved them putting a shirt on her and giving Lucas a shirt. In reality, they completely clothed them. Even though the movie couldn’t truly convey the experience, survivors have praised the movie for helping people understand what it was like, both during the tsunami and in the aftermath. So many have talked about its accurate depiction of things they experienced and saw.

Lee Stephenson

Wowwww this was good!!! I remember watching this all over the news in 2004 and the fact that it was on Boxing Day and Everyone is off eh?? All of my Community was glued to their Tv's watching about this. I even remember Oprah was on at the time and she had this guy that was on her show a lot?? I think his name was Nathan?? Oh looked it up-- his name is Nate Berkus-- A designer for houses or something like that. Anyways she had him on her show after it because he was there when it went down. He was on vacation with his male partner and they to were there to enjoy "Paradise." And Nate made it--- his partner Fernando Bengoechea did not. 230,000 my goodness Great movie and Great Reaction

Every time I see this film, I cry. No shame in it either. I cannot imagine going through something so tragic. I was like Asia, I was really curious about tsunamis, especially after watching movies that showed huge walls of water wiping away NY and California. This was the first time I saw a good representation of what a tsunami actually looked like, and its power. I couldn't wrap my head around this phenomenon. This is about science and physics and mother nature. Jaw dropping. So many tourists and locals lost their lives, family members, homes, animals, possessions in seconds. The worst part of it is the debris in the water. Everything has the ability to hurt or kill. Mind-boggling how some families survived and found each other.

Carol Rocha

This was a phenomenal movie production. Was great to watch with y’all. I couldn’t stop crying either, Asia. Such a great ending but 230,000! Wow. I remember when it happened but I didn’t remember that it was the day after Christmas. I think this was when a TV star (I’ll look it up) lost their partner there. I believe this IS the scariest disaster movie I’ve ever seen.

Bonnie Smith

Oh man, I just watched this one last month. Looking forward to watching it with you two! Such a powerful , heavy film

Carol Rocha

It was Nate Berkus, an interior designer who had his own TV show back then, who lost his partner, photographer Fernando Bengoechea. They were vacationing at a beach resort in Sri Lanka when the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami hit. Fernando was never found and was presumed dead. :(

I like action/thrillers sometimes. I will have to check this out later. I really hope you two watch, "Life Is A House" one day for me. You and your great reactions help me get through some of my days, stuck in bed, with Chronic Pain and other health issues. I know you guys would really like the movie. I am 43 years old now. My Dad used to be my Best Friend, when I was a child, up into my mid-twenties. He even fought for custody of me, when I was 9 years old, so that he could make my life better. He is a Land Surveyor and Civil Engineer, so he wanted me to go to College for something like that, but I am not into stuff like that. I am only one credit away from a Associate of Art's Degree and three credits away from an Associate of Science Degree. I want to go back to school soon and get a Ph.D. in something, because I know that I will regret it if I don't. Everyone wants me to major in English, because I am in the 95th Percentile, but I don't want to do that. I am thinking either a Degree in "Theology" or "Expertise in Arms and Armor" ("Lord of the Rings" and "Game of Thrones" gave me that idea, because I started collecting their weapons, helmets, armor, etc.). However, getting a Degree in "Psychology" and becoming a Drug/Alcohol Counselor might be the best, because I am in Recovery (I have been Clean/Sober for a little over 5 Years). With my health being bad, I could do online appointments though. I don't know how I got off on this tangent. Oh yeah, I do: My Dad. We were Best Friends, until I got deep into my Alcoholism. I was drinking a gallon of hard Liquor per day, and my weight was only 95 pounds. I got a Traumatic Brain Injury, and they didn't want me to Detox at the same time, so they literally brought me "One Shooters" of Liquor, and made me take a shot with every meal. I thought they were crazy when they told me to do this, because I could barely hold down water. But, sure enough, they brought me "One Shooters", in a red perforated bag, from the Pharmacy. I finally decided to quit on my own 5 Years ago, and I will never look back. When my Dad got custody of me, I started getting straight A's, he took me to places like Costa Rica, he became my Coach in All-Star Softball. Those memories with him were great. He bugged me to watch "Life Is A House" with him, and I didn't want to, but I am glad that I did. It reminded me of our relationship, when I was only into my Alcoholism, before I started losing things because of it. My Dad was always wanting me to help him work, build, you name it. The movie made me and my Dad cry. It is a truly good movie, and it reminds me of him, everytime I see the Title of it. My Dad is 73, and he got a Quadruple Bypass 12 Years ago. They generally only last about 10 Years. The Doctor said he's fine right now, but I still get scared to death every night, that I am going to get a phone call from someone, telling me that he passed away. I will not know how to go on, even though we aren't close anymore. Now, I know how my Dad felt every night, when I was out there in my Addiction/Alcoholism, and I completely feel awful, for stressing him out that way.

Wendy Garner

He had the paper with the names on it because the guy gave it to him to see if his family was in the hospital when he went looking for Maria and Lucas.

Donna Bannister

Yep this movie had my emotions in all kinds of trouble!!!! And every single one ended in tears💯😭💯😭 The happy & sad... relief & devastation... joyful & heartbreaking!!! Both y'alls reactions were seen, heard and felt🥹❤️🫂❤️ thankyou!!!!

Matt

I was on a dream vacation in Tahiti when this happened with my gf. Incredibly hard time to enjoy it, and when we did it was quickly ended with feelings of guilt for all the loss of life.

Andreas

Please react to " The Shack" or "Southpaw" Love from germany 🥰

Michele Perez

Yes, I remember that. He was interviewed by Oprah in reference to this horrible event. I was on vacation in Saint Augustine Florida. Ocean front property. However I never left the inside of the Airbnb. I was glued to the television.

Michele Perez

I just realize that her son is a young Tom Holland. He looks so familiar to me. I knew I had seen his face before.

Awilda Luciano

Great Reaction! Was checking out the cast and the older 2 brothers are real life brothers, Lucas is the very young Tom Holland (Superman)

Michele Perez

Asia you were right. The oldest boy Lucas and the middle child are brothers in real life. Plus the actor playing Lucas, is also Spider-Man

Michele Perez

I read that in Thailand you have the opportunity to ride elephants. Prior to the wave actually hitting the shore. The elephants were chained out. All of a sudden, the elephants broke their chains and started running to higher ground. Their keepers, had no idea what was going on and started to chase them. The elephants save their lives by getting them to higher ground. In the ocean, there were people out of their boats. When they noticed a large number of dolphins, swimming away from the shore. The captains on these boats, decided to follow the dolphins. Their lives were also spared because they followed the Dolphins further out to sea.

Fish Rae

Society of the Snow is another amazing movie to check out by the same director and an incredible story. This directors ability to portray such a realistic POV of the tsunami, the intensity of the story telling, the emotions and cinematography is unreal.

Carol Rocha

Yes, I remember watching that interview. Bc he was pretty regular on her show during that time I think, or had been before. How terrifying it must’ve been for you being close to the ocean. I remember seeing it on tv, as well, but I never remembered that it was the day after Christmas. ? Idk why. I do believe, and may have said it..that this is the most terrifying disaster movie I’ve ever seen. :(

Carol Rocha

Get outta town!! Spiderman! I didn’t see it. I’ll have to go back and look.

Carol Rocha

We need to watch something lighthearted. Idk if anyone has mentioned KILLERS (Ashton Kutcher & Katherine Heigl) SO FUNNY! :)

Jesse McAdams

He got the note from the guy when the guy was writing his family's name on it so he could check the hospital. When he asked them to wait 5 minutes.

D-nastiest1intheroom

Naomi and Ewan are in one of my favorite movies with Ryan gosling called stay. I think it's better than fight club.

pkleo73

I dont know how most feel about this one, but I havnt seen Battlestar Galactica mentioned anywhere(at least that Ive noticed). I personally enjoyed Californication, but theres nudity so I think thats out. Or what about old school... Married with Children, All In The Family, Night Court, Sanford and Son... Jack Ryan is also a good one. And I know a lot of folks probably wont agree, but Im a Seinfeld fan. Still funny even if you dont like Jerry...imo

Kim

Asia, your beautiful face showing relief and joy when Lucas sees his brothers is priceless. I remember when I first saw this movie, how powerful it was. If you watch any HGTV renno shows, designer Nate Berkus was vacationing in Sri Lanka with his partner, photographer Fernando Bengoechea, when the 2004 tsunami struck the island. They were in Arugam Bay, Sri Lanka, when the natural disaster occurred and were swept out of their beachfront hut by the force of the wave. Nate reported they clinged to each other in the rushing and churning water, until something rammed into them and they got separated. The disaster claimed Fernando's life and his body was reported as missing and was never found leaving Nate devastated and grief-stricken for many years. He still cries when he thinks about it. I just cannot imagine.......

Kim

And seconds later, BJ shedding tears of disbelief and joy as well when Lucas sees his father....talk about destiny! I so much enjoy seeing your reactions to movies I once saw years ago. It is an honor and fun watching with you.
