Hi!
I worked like a mad kitty on Frost last week!
Let me tell you♥
For the Framerate issues i made following changes
-30fps cap
I found out that the Fur Simulation is more accurate and less buggy with a 30 fps frameratelock, it also prevents the framerate from dropping because of the fur simulation being more stable.
If i can do the math right i could also implement a 60fps framrate lock as a setting optional under the Graphics tab.
-Changes in the Level streaming
I made more Places their own unique level, this really helps with Framerate overall but i need to edit some code to make this switch.
-Nativization
Is a Feature in Unreal that allows for Blueprint code to be compiled without overhead like c++, currently when i nativizate a class i get a Package Game Error and can not Build.
I won't let nativization delay a release, but it would be really nice to have it working,
the difference would make a roughly 400% shortening in code excecution time for my character pawn classes and many more.
SO if nativization works this would solve many problems for people with less powerfull hardware.
I also could not code all the time,
all coding and no animating makes furrier maaaad
so i made one of the Very bad endings i want to have in Frost, and because i got many messages asking about the Giantess and the scenes she has.
This animation is still wip, animating her cloth is tricky x_x
I also left out any Dialoge, when you see this scene ingame it will be alot different, don't see this as spoiler, but rather as techdemo :3
-Facial animation
I am using animation poses for emotions, and a little function that blends Ribcage, Head and Jaw movement using a given Audio File, works much better than the old system where maru just moved her jaw.
Will continue working on it, and far from giving up!
Altough my day/night routine sounds like a sketch out of a sitcom, last week was my birthday and i forgot it x_X
To the Release!
I am getting a "When will it out" question every day, and this is a valid question!
Especially if you remember that i wanted to have it out a Month ago, and it still seems like there is no end in sight.
Big projects are like spiderwebs, you change one string and this can cause other strings to come loose or behave differently.
And then remember i am learning by doing with everything, and i make everything myself from the World models to the characters, textures and animations.
I had put so much work into this game alone, and i am very motivated finally finishing a new playable release that really shows you what i have all learned!
Will be back soon with a update!
your furrier,
PS:
Have a few nice Screenshots :3
