Frost Update News (Patreon)

Hi!

Today i really really tried to solve the remaining problems with the New Frost game.

sadly i did not got it done :c

let me tell you what i did!

-First i finished those Physics assets, Now all Character Physics assets are finished and working perfectly!

-Then i worked on the Navigation Mesh, NPC's now are using two types of it.

One for the streaming levels itself (Palace, Tower, Bluefox town)

This is the Ingame Library of Mistress Frost,

Now i Blue is the Navigation mesh that Characters are using to navigate the world.

This is necessary because so i can pre generate a Nav Model that allows characters to reach all places even when there is not much space,

and it is much faster than to generate that nav mesh for the whole world.

Instead of my regular method, (would take like 4 hours to generate it, and it goes broken when you change something)

So this is nice,

For the World i use a Navigation invoker, this means the character itself generates a navigation mesh around itself, to make NPC's travel to far places without a Navmesh on the whole world i Build an little actor that does also generate a Nav Model with an invoker, those i placed around the Paths and critical places so a Character can reach every place of the world.

Now what is missing you may ask?

Collision models are the main thing that needs to be done, For development i use for most models a Per poly collision to get things going, but i underestimated how they kill the Framerate when used in an open world, so i need to make Collision models.

When i got the Navigation system done, i noticed it was already late, so i tried to get at least a Playable Demo with the Intro done for you today,

I migrated everything i need for the Tower (where the game starts now) into a new Project, which was way more time consuming than i imagined.

Now it is already Friday here where i live and today i have a big day, I move Today :O

So i really need to get to bed have a 900km drive tomorrow x_x,

Tomorrow you get some Snow Tigress fluff, and after that a bit of Bluefox fun!

I plan to be back on Sunday then on my Buddy's workstation until my place is done!
