(part 2 of 2)

Today I'm rejoined by Dakota (@DEEP_RED_BELLS) to finish our conversation about the musical group Death Grips. We continue analyzing Exmilitary. This includes discussing the sample from the songs Culture Shock and 5D, leading us to discuss lightworkers, Blavatsky, Elizabeth Clare Prophet, and the Church Universal and Triumphant. Then we have an extended discussion on MC Ride's tattoos, their symbolism, and the various left-hand path traditions to which they allude.

After that, we discuss the band's timeline, examine Epic Records' artists and executives, and the events surrounding their most controversial acts of self-sabotage and magic(k)al rebirth. This includes their time at the Chateau Marmont, fighting with their own label, leaking their own album, the possibility that their extreme online popularity may not be entirely organic, and the group's conception of the role of magic(k) in their careers.

To wrap up, Dakota tells some personal tales of debauchery set to Death Grips' music.

So funny you say that about DJ Khaled. I've been listening to hiphop since 1987 and I always think of him: why on earth is this guy so big? I mean, he has someone explicitly say 'we the best music' on every f-ing song. And then you listen to it and go: No, this is shit music 😅

The distinctly leftist tendency to need to qualify criticism of certain cultural or religious beliefs is super tedious. Twitter has turned everyone into tip toeing babies. I can look past it for a show like this, but come on Jim, sack up a bit. Glad I subbed again, you've been a busy fella lately.

But is Jimmy Falun Gongs extreme online popularity entirely organic?

Really appreciated this one and felt vindicated in thoughts I had about DG and Ride's lyrics, especially 'I am the beast I worship". I think these guys are legit tied into bad stuff. I think a lot of heavy metal bands pose on the whole satanist/dark lord riff, but I don't think Ride is pretending.

Totally unrelated to Death Grips, but in the vein of art/media that may be darker or realer than is generally accepted, are you at all aware of Al Columbia and his art? I just have this VIBE that he is connected to some really dark shit. Also, similar to Death Grips he is an amazing artist, be it a visual one as opposed to music.
