Curious, your thoughts on the McCurtain Daily Gazette, April 21st, 2004 that reported that Peter Langan from the ARA bank robber gang has two family members that work for the CIA (his sister and father). Any truth to that? If so, any more news/thoughts on that connection?

I remember hearing on SJ (I think it was) that: the Jeffs compound had an airport (or at least an airstrip) built very nearby; that it basically only serviced that area but was somehow bigger or nicer than that would suggest; and that the construction was done at public expense. When Wendy mentions Barry's ranch is in "Warren Jeffs country", that airstrip immediately sprang to mind. Maybe getting arms into/out of the area is one use that airstrip had/has? Looking forward to the rest!

To add: it's the Aquino Family Values episode (Dmitri on The Farm w/ Recluse), start at 1:49:00 on the SJ upload for the part in question. He states it was built in the early 90s, will double check on that. Maybe a little late to tie in to this story, maybe not, but intriguing. Will also note: I once asked on Reddit (may the lord forgive me) for tips on interesting stories in Arizona, bonus points for parapolitics. One person commented that there used to be a Mena-type operation flying into Kingman. They claimed there was even a Boys On The Tracks type of situation. I asked for more detail but didn't get any follow up from them, and I couldn't pull anything up on some cursory google searches, but when I've got time I'm gonna track that one down.

This series is just incredible. I’ll be getting her book. And listening to it all again in a little while. I really enjoyed listening to Wendy and appreciate her dry sense of humour. Seems like there will be a lot of books to be reading by the time I catch up on this cast.

Re; ARK; Was Roger Moore was in ARK at the same time as Barry Seal was in Mena ? 1981 ish to 1985ish. It’s a wild speculation

I asked Wendy and she wrote, "Roger Moore was living in Arkansas in 1985. Before that, he was in South Florida. After that, he split his time between the two places when not roaming the country attending gun shows, or setting people up. I have a huge chunk of messy draft writing trying to flesh out the Roger Moore/ Mena/ Barry Seal connections. Interestingly, FBI agents Floyd Hayes and Mark Jesse out of the Hot Springs, Arkansas office, both thought to be under the control of or working with the CIA, were two of the FBI agents primarily responsible for “investigating” Moore and Moore’s connections to McVeigh/ OKCB. Moore also had some connection to FBI agent Tom Ross, also out of Hot Springs. All three of these agents were balls deep in the Mena “investigation” and instrumental in covering up the goings on there. According to some sources, including Oliver North lol, Tom Posey, and his outfit the Civilian Military Assistance (later Civilian Material Assistance) was using Mena to resupply the Contras. Moore was the CIA paymaster for Posey and CMA."
