Jokic is only big in the league (including Embid) that just patiently backs you down and then foot works his way to an easy bucket. JK and small ball in general should be much more playable against KAT/JJJ/Adams in the next round. Wondering how much a home game 5 puts in the Ws wallet. Think it's North of $5M. Joe's probably not completely bummed about that loss.

I hope they do what you said. Start Steph and have attack Jokic e v e r y possession. Not only is it easy baskets, but it tires him from the beginning of the game. Don't wait until the end of 2nd Q, or in the 3rd because this move doesn't tire the Warriors out. It has a positive defensive & offensive + Take it serious defensively & blow em out.

Excellent breakdown. Warriors looked like a different team in the 2nd half after looking pretty lackadaisical in the first. I loved how we responded but this isn't anything new with our core three. Once they've figured out an opponent, they almost always spot a double digit lead before they finally become engaged. The refs were definitely officiating this game to prevent the sweep. I heard of this suggestion elsewhere but I would like to see them change the coach's challenge to one incorrect challenge. This way, a coach can keep using his challenge until he gets one wrong. I also think in the playoffs, they should allow the challenge to be declared by the replay center with under 2 minutes left in the game, similar to the NFL. The emphasis should be getting the call correct at that point in the game. The L2M report revealed an incorrect call on an out of bounds play (missed dunk by Wigs but went out-of-bounds via a Denver player) that rewarded Denver the ball, I do not know why that call was not reviewed.

Yeah come playoff time you can’t just wipe the challenge away on some early suspect call. I like that idea or just 1 per half

Yo unc, are we going to get your take on the nets and celts?! JT and his boys are looking nice over there

Im sorry, but Steve Kerr is absolutely out of his mind for rolling out that Iguodala-Beli-GP2-Otto lineup with Steph. Not only that, that lineup was out there for almost an entire quarter. That is DISGRACEFUL. And Kerr is wondering why Steph started out cold? Obviously those 3 early missed shots, but then allowing him to get triple teamed because he puts 4 nonshooters out there. Kerr's lineup choices were the biggest grievance I had with this game, and thats saying something considering the refs calls. Kuminga FINALLY gets meaningful minutes in a game where we are ice cold, low energy, and unable to attack the rim. So what happens? Kuminga IMMEDIATELY pays off with production, decent enough defense, and high energy minutes that spark the team. Meanwhile, Andre Iguodala has 0pts, 0 ast, 2 TOs, and 5 fouls. NO. The answer is NO, Iguodala does NOT deserve those minutes "jUsT CuZ hE's a VeT". Iguodala was absolutely awful, and refused to look at the rim. I counted 3 times he couldve drove for a dunk, but because he's old, he's incapable of it. I dont blame Iguodala. I blame Kerr for not putting the team in the best position to succeed. Kuminga dunks those drives every time, probably with a few and1s. Kerr fucked this game in the first half, and coupled with the poor officiating, the Warriors waited too long and too late to finally get engaged. No slander for Poole. He had a rough night and he was probably due one. Gordon finally figured out how to be decent on defense against him. But I wouldnt count on that lasting very long. Wiggins actually had some nice plays that kept the game in reach. The decision to go to him at the end also goes to Kerr. Bad pass by Otto yeah, but why the fuck is Otto the one making that pass? Why not Iguodala? Why not Beli? Both those guys are very accurate passers and from a stand still out of bounds, surely theyre better options than Otto? But nah. Kerr always thinks he's smarter than everyone else. Dray fouling out was unfortunate and bound to happen. I expected it with the officials. Amazing how Klay didnt foul out. With him being the only one hitting shots, the refs were quick to get him in foul trouble so he wouldnt take away their game 5 paycheck. In summary: reffs were expectedly, unsurprisingly ridiculous and heavily favoring an extended series. But I have no idea what drugs Kerr was on to keep a terrible lineup out there for that long, with the Iguodala-Jokic matchup, and then EVERYONE sees Kuminga ball out, and then never come back into the game. The warriors could have had 9 days of rest because the MEM-MIN series might go 7. But Kerr royally fucked it for no reason. Yeah they can finish it at home (and they better) but that was a disgusting coaching perfomance that felt like we were right back in the middle of the season. I dont ever want to see that lineup again unless Otto starts shooting 40% from 3.

Steve Kerr said to Greg Roman "hold my beer"

Alc, you had really good draft calls on Tyrese Haliburton and Tyrese Maxey. Another dude on here (was it Stevie Ray) was all over Precious. Some good calls.

Good thorough take! I don’t recall that lineup being a big problem or at least it didn’t stick out to me

If the warriors have to put a wing on Jokic I think I'd have to go with Wiggins. The few possessions he guarded him this series in the post he held his ground pretty well and got good contests. I just think looney isn't giving us enough in this matchup. The warriors are known to start slow so I'd hope they'd just start the death lineup in Chase center and just hit the gas from the get go. Run the floor, attack Jokic in switches and at the basket, and to either not help in the post or help really late. I think those keys would gas jokic out so hard and prevent some of the others from building any rhythm. Also more GP2 and Kuminga..

That lineup is awful, especially considering Porter really struggled at shooting now.

Hi Alc, Warrior is looking quite good now, and now there will many incoming fans in the playoff. I think you should publish Patreon previews more regularly to exploit the opportunity. Maybe once every three games for a teaser?

I think it’s good, we don’t have a 16-0 team, so let’s get the fortification of getting through some adversity under our belt now, against a team we know we will beat

Uncle Alch, you do a great job with these breakdowns! You bring a human side of these players better then anyone on mainstream media. And also the culture as well, you excel at that, as well as the psychological aspect, I think it comes naturally to you. When it comes to this series I would not overlook Monte Morris, this guy made some huge shits vs Portland last year! Portland ended up losing, then they fired their coach and when you look at their roster now, they're in a deep rebuild, so you could say that Monte Morris dismantled Portland Blazers with his clutch play!

Gratitude onya, Alch, especially for the much needed laughs emanating from this series, rather than the steady dose of bad vibes. Wiggins ignited is an f'ing beautiful thing to witness! JP's rise as a star in this league...and within the flow of this increasingly lethal offense, rather than being all about him. This team is getting deeper and deeper before our eyes, no longer so dependent on Dray and Steph for any chance. But the depth frees them up, too. Hoping Ja's status is more gamesmanship than medical, as it would truly be a shame for all involved if he had to sit out. Go groove
