harden simmons trade happened😨

Disappointed that we didn't get a true big man at the deadline but maybe we won't even have to go through a team like the Lakers with how bad they are

Anonymous

Yeah I saw this loss coming tbh with all the reasons you mentioned. It’s funny, even though Beli has had his struggles, I actually think his absence hurts sometimes. The team had a lot of guys who aren’t shooters and do a lot of passing/DHO’s. In the regular season at least, Beli does help to balance out these lineups. As far as the trade deadline inactivity, I think the front office remembers having too many centers against HOU in that 2018 playoff series and our depth suffering as a result when they couldn’t play and Andre got injured. So they believe more wings and guards will be more playable come playoff time.

Kevin Morris

That was painful to watch. This is the type of game where we really miss Dray. Not only for his brilliance as the defensive floor general, but also for calling people out for sloppy defensive execution.

Ken Bradford

My question is who could’ve been traded for that will make an impact ? Like realistically. I’m convinced we don’t need another big man when everybody is healthy. My bigger concern is steph. We ain’t winning shit without him showing up and is steph even a top 7 player rn ? He only scores against bad teams and doesn’t show up against the contenders at least since his slump started. Yes he’s shot the ball better but barely getting to 20 points the last few weeks has me concerned

Yep this game was a slog to get through haha thank you Unc for rewatching this horrific event 😂

I think the trade that would’ve made sense would’ve been Wiseman for Nurkic but they aren’t willing to give up on the kid

Anonymous

Well....just need to watch film and learn some tricks how to attack those big centers. In the old days when we had big centers, they never used to play heavy minutes. So it can be done.

Scheduled loss…i like the way our roster is managed…iggy is the only guy that worries me

Abhi Kelkar

So I think this loss was clear from the beginning, Steph didn't want it at all, and compounding that our size was small as you mentioned Do you think Kerr/the coaching staff botched the game plan? It seems like we didn't know how to take advantage of the other 2 bigs that they rolled out. Also unmentioned, we shot abysmally from 2, Poole especially, I think our 3P% was higher

Jimmy Ji

If Kuminga is going to play backup center at times, then he needs to learn to box out more. I expect the coaching staff to heavily emphasize this point heading into tonight's game. This is just one game though so let's not overreact considering we've been decent rebounding as a team despite our size. There was an interview recently where Steph actually admitted that it bothered him he's not shooting 40% from three. Could this be the point where he becomes more aware of his shot selection? Even that dribble drive floater to beat the 2nd quarter buzzer looks suspect. If this was the same Steph from earlier this season, chances are he probably would have hoisted a buzzer beating half-court shot instead.

Daniel Fries

I think if they're gonna rest Klay and Dray is out, better rest disinterested Steph and let the youngsters have the floor

The wonderful thing about games like this is they hurt waaaay less than any other regular season loss, when a high end team gets murdered on the road it means nothing. Other than Steph is bored with the regular season and the Jazz are pissed off about their losing streak lol no 2 ways about it, you ain't beating a pissed off jazz team by shooting 35 percent, the jazz are absolutely deadly from 3. The jazz actually remind of a less annoying Harden Rockets team, the constant 3 point shooting puts so much pressure on you if they are hitting

Anonymous

Agreed. Didn't it feel like the energy level just wasn't there for the Dubs from the get-go? Like, shots were falling early, but one of the reasons that our rebounding has been so good this season despite our size is our hustle. There was no energy or hustle from anybody on the roster last night, and we saw it on the glass in the second half

Ezra Abbey

I've noticed some of the better teams in the league break up a lot of our actions by getting their hands in passing lanes on pnr's with steph. I remember the lakers did this really well last year, and the jazz were doing this all night. they know stephs passing tendencies, might be an issue in the playoffs

This game points out real weaknesses of Warriors Weakness of the team and of individuals. Weaknesses that a good/great team can take advantage of... - something wrong with Steph; body, mind, emotions, lingering tailbone, family. (note how a few games ago, when he was goaded and harassed, he played better, with focus. The adrenaline kicked in, something chemically going on in his system that is draining his vitality). But when Step is not hitting his 3s, with his high turnover ratio he can be a drain on the team. Did you see Kuminga completely open under the basket and Steph not passing him the ball?! and then clanking the 3 - We need a solid big, at least on defense. I dont see Wiseman being our savior till at least 3 years down the road. Hes just not that good yet. And without a solid big, we waste personnel, like Kuminga, on other teams bigs instead of using them on like size players where they can dominate. - Greens disc injury is not good. A compressed nerve and calf pain is indicative of a compromised disc. A disc is got more gristle than a meniscus and we know how long that takes to heal AFTER SURGERY. Without Green we have no chance. - I'm sorry but with Wiggs cavalier attitude, he ain't no dog, he ain't no all-star. His free-throw shooting is crap, his passing ability is not the level of an all-star. - Kerr runs the team based on his idea of what he wants the team to be, not based on personnel. He runs the team as if we are a great 3 point shooting team, but with Steph not playing well, we ain't, so we are not trying to get inside, we are lazy. Ultimately if we don't get a big man with some defensive skills, at least , we are cooked. We otherwise are depending on Klay and Steph to heroically bail us out. And with Green's back in the shitter, he most likely will have to sit out or play with less force. I'm not taking this lightly, we are in trouble vs the elite.

Game sucked. Steph been on cruise control since November. Whether or not Steph wins MVP im pretty indifferent to as long as the team plays well. That said, the fact that he was so clearly the favorite to win the MVP as long as he was standard Steph and just looks completely disengaged for months is so awful to watch. It's genuinely been unfun to watch him for months. Sure he obviosuly has a net positive impact but this is an entertainment product after all. Youd figure youd give a shit every once in a while over multiple months

Will the Warrior fans call for Big Bob's head if the Warriors go down in the first cause they can't buy a rebound like against the Jazz. They had 3 offensive rebounds.

I think the front office needs to look hard at the buy out market. We are arrogantly foolish to think our lack of size, even if and when Wise is back, is not going to be a problem in the playoffs and the finals, if we make it. I was listening to the Locked on Warriors podcast and they act like its such a dilemma who we would have to cut. They pretty much think JTA is uncuttable. I like the kid and love his story, but this is about winning titles, and he brings the least amount of value, IMHO, between he, D-Lee, and Beli. A no brainer to me, if you can add a true big.

Gsw4L

Exactly...falling in love with JTA...big mistake. He brings good energy but that's all..

otto's legs "wilting" a bit. i see you alc

yo, discord link wont work for me for some reason, knicks game isnt over yet but ill take the L for Steph dropping off Randle and Kuminga trying to roof him like that, clearly we need a big, but damn, we are competing pretty damn well while getting eaten alive on the glass

Anonymous

yo what position would you play Randle in the NFL?

Anonymous

yo, im glad we lost, W's wipe away healthy critique, as you said, we need these L's in this way so the front office does something to improve our front court, just hope we can find a gem in the buy out market

Ken Bradford

Btw harden AND Doc ? Sign me up 😄

Ken Bradford

The issue is everybody wants a big but there aren't any available that are good
