So glad we got this man! I knew he would be an asset to this team. Its awesome having a "pitbull" type player, without all the drama and tryhard cringe that PatBev brings with him. Can't give as lengthy comment as I want to, but Ive watched every video far Alch! Loving this season! Look forward to your videos the second the game ends!

Watching GP2 dunk is giving me a David Thompson flashback. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=k6OsKy1c5A0&t=29s

thanks man. im in that 480p still buffering club

Anonymous

Yup....same here.... I'm overseas...so I see those loudmouth analyst and highlights (with only the buckets) first. All the time waiting for the breakdown to know what really went on. I think what pulls me the most is the way Alch kinda sees both sides. Plus the expert breakdown ofcourse. Now let me stop typing and get to the video 😂

Ei alch, it again feels like warriors basketball to me, all the cuts, passes, Steph running like crazy all over the floor, and most important, the defense! remember warriors used to be N°1 offense and deffense on the league? This team is super exciting to watch, super fun, cant wait for Wiseman to be back, and finally klays return! Happy to be able to support and ride along with you for another season! And also, thanks for the recon for Manu in the hezi! the pod is fire!

Anonymous

I just gotta say how funny it is to see Oubre coming off the bench for the Hornets…Warriors were giving him no chance for any type of “revenge” game. Unrelated - but also good to see Bjelica shoot the 3 more readily

Anonymous

Bridges looks a lot like Julius Randle to me. Obviously Randle is bigger and Bridges is far more athltiec, but the handle, the power drives, the types of threes they take look really similar to me

Jimmy Ji

I am so glad we were able to hold onto GP2 after he was cut. He is going to be so effective this year because of the way the game is being officiated. I can't wait for the Warriors to unleash GP2 on guys like Trae, Dame, Harden, D-Mitch etc. That matchup against ATL on Monday is going to SPICY.

Anonymous

I would add to the idea of the Warriors coaches and front office figuring it out was the recognition that they needed to bring in new coaches with different skills and ideas/mission to develop that young talent especially Wiseman but maybe also Kuminga.

Anonymous

GP seems to thrive when going against small guards. He is strong enough to hold them, and his hands are fast enough to poke the ball.

Anonymous

I love Loon, h was an important and relaible piece in those title runs. And as a third string center he's great. But my god is it awful watching him. I am so excited for Wiseman to get those opportunities Loon's getting and failing to convert. He aint even shooting his free throws well. A minimum level of stand still vetical and quick jump is required in the scoring opportunites Looney gets but he is THE SLOWEST stand still jumper in the league

SAOpp

Is Bridges about what we hope for from Kuminga? Similar body types, downhill style. Will it take 4 years for Kuminga?

Anonymous

Minus all the early turnovers, this game was a beauty to watch: Young Glove was amazing, The Poole Party was spectacular, I even enjoyed watching Bridges as well. We’re back to “strength in numbers” & I love it!!!

Anonymous

Yo alc would you say that all lefty players play the same way? Or does it look the same because their jump shot looks the same?

Anonymous

I love that GP2 is a great defender like pops but in a different way. Senior was a relentless defender that eliminated space nonstop like a Davion Mitchell or PatBev (they aint Payton though dont get it twisted). Gp2 is kind of the opposite, he allows space and stabs at the ball at great moments. Got that Andre Iguodala type timing

Anonymous

Us winning different teams different ways is what is encouraging... I must give Poole and young glove their flowers...I say rest the Chef 1 time (the easiest game )in a 10 game rotation to keep him good.

Yehudah Raphaelsohn

Bridges was a much better shooter as a prospect. He shot something like 47/37/78 in college with high volume over two years. That was bound to translate to good shooting at the next level eventually. Don't think Kuminga will ever have that shooting mentality. I'd be thrilled if he shot 1-2 a game at 33% to keep defenses honest, but I think he's going to make his money slashing to the rim like a bigger DWade.

Anonymous

So....GP2 and Poole are proof that you also need some patience with players. Instead of trading for some big money guy who will want the ball in his hands

Major Powers

Is Pat Bev really in the "elite defender" conversation? He seems more like a nuisance, but not actually a lockdown defender. Like he tricks people into thinking he's a good defender running and flailing so hard.

Anonymous

On a Hornets telecast they said Oubre couldn’t be himself last year, so he was going to show it to the Bay this game.

Anonymous

in..fucking..deed. i just read another article in sfgate this morning on how we need to trade all our youth for another big contract. so tired of articles chirping this stuff. no vision... like driving down the freeway staring at your hood ornament

Klay wore new uniform with 11, don’t you think 77 would suit him better?

Jerry Heverly

When you start selling merch, Alch, begin with the shirt: "It ain't too late for a Poole party!" This game is the archetype for the season: extraordinary depth, every night a new player takes the spotlight, absolutely no soft spots on the bench. Defensive intensity. Under the new rules it will be a nightly challenge to score over 100 against the Dubs. Sloppy ball handling. Will they lead the league in turnovers? Veteran savvy, Belly, Iguodala, Draymond, Klay, Porter, (yes) Looney, executing an offense. Has anyone seen the chaos of the Mavs? They should watch Warrior film.

Was lucky enough to get tickets right behind the hornets bench. First time being able to go to a game in years. Hell of a game. Kinda felt bad for Kelly cause they didn’t even do a welcoming for him lol.

Anonymous

Great breakdown as always Alch. Starting to get some real 14-15' vibes from this squad and it has me more excited than I've been since the KD signing.

Anonymous

Only thing I'm welcoming is the fact that Kelly is being paid to eat up salary cap on a different team lmao.

Is it too early to call GP II “The Mitten”?

Anonymous

Great to see gp2 thrive not only defensively but also fit in great offensively within the motion offense. Lots of easy cuts and wide open 3s for him. Plus he doesn’t need to be as much of a primary ball handler like he was in summer league. He can just operate more as a wing, get boards, and use his elite motor to contribute in that way. Excited for him to play bigger minutes!!

Branden Edwards

I wish I could see a lineup featuring GPII, Thybulle, Davion Mitchell and Dort. The offense would be abysmal, but they're locking up lol

Anonymous

you missed GP's block near the end (which led to the Dray's layup and flex, and Iggy "punched" GP repeatedly in pure joy after that play

athleticalchemy

Yeah I wonder how far he can guard up. He has that broad shoulder thin waist built. He probably weighs way less than you’d think

athleticalchemy

To me at this point, he should be automatic from the elbow and shoot 80 from the line. He hasn’t added anything to make up for his limitations

Anonymous

Poole, GP2, and D Lee are looking so confident this year, it’s honestly nuts to watch. I would have never thought these guys would be playing with this much confidence

Kevin Morris

Lots of reason for optimism this year. It will be very interesting to see the adjustments Kerr makes when Wiseman and Klay return and get worked back into the rotation. I expect Klay to return at a home game so the Bay Area crowd can lose their minds.

Anonymous

Great video aside from the Loon slander :P He'll always be limited on O, but I don't think you are giving him proper credit for his D. This team just took over the #1 defensive rating. He's a part of that. After Wiseman eventually rises to the starting role, having Loon on our bench will remain a huge benefit to this team!

Anonymous

Game 7 and I’m thinking about March April already lol great breakdown

Anonymous

Talking about seeing how good the front office really is and all that the move to turn an aging iggy into d russ and in turn turn that into Wiggins and kuminga and then get iggy back on top is just pure brilliance by Bob Meyers. Hell I would have been ecstatic just Wiggins for d russ straight up but nope the t wolves had to be the t wolves and throw in a lottery pick lol

Anonymous

Like i said earlier during summer league gp2’s inaccurate passing game isn’t a factor in the nba game because they don’t need him to pass at all lol. Offensively the warriors play him almost like a small forward which really unlocks his athleticism and energy, defensively he is our own version of “offnight”, you can’t even dribble in front of this dude it’s scary, i think he has had at least 1 steal in every game he played, and sometimes that means a steal within 10 seconds

Anonymous

just so grateful to be a franchise that has become a staple of winning in the league.

Nathan Glanzer

Alch you should do do a double feature on the two Thunder Lakers games. SGA is killing it and Russ is a joke. Would love to hear your takes on the Lakers failing so hard.

Anonymous

Thanks again Alch. I am from Netherlands, europe. Really looking forward to your breakdowns and view of the games, it’s closest to how I experience a game. Don’t like the mainstream coverage that much, cause it’s mostly about stats, that often don’t tell the story of the game. And I have a weak for energetic hard work defenders like Dray, Juan, GP2. Really love how you portrait them as well.

Anonymous

Alc, just listen to the newest podcast. I like the long format. You are way better than many basketball podcasters and youtubers, especially compared to some Warrior podcasts (many of which are long, overreactive, and not as humorous as you are) (I will give Warrior huddle a pass). It is a good source to catch up NBA without subjecting yourself to ESPN.

Miles Bridges reminds me of a prime Josh Smith

Jerry Heverly

They are #1 in the NBA in defense, but, more surprisingly, #5 in rebound differential. A band of relative midgets but they crash the boards like no other team. But the schedule has been kind. Let’s see what happens when they play AT Salt Lake or even San Antonio. GP2 switched onto Valanciunas a couple times and completely tied him up. Is it time to try Payton at center? I’m kidding….I think. Alch is unrivaled as a commentator but there’s a new kid on the block, Eric Apricot, who is doing good work.
