Dray should add traes floater/lob move to his bag

Collins is what I thought Jordan Bell would become

Collins or michael porter jr?

Dyl

a buffet connoisseur took me out lmao

After watching this game, I no longer understand the concept of a moving screen. It felt to me Collins was moving the entire time Trae was trying to reuse the screen. I think the competition committee needs to look at that because it creates an unfair advantage for the ball handler. Besides that, I think Collins is a very important piece of the Hawks offense because he can space the floor and act as a lob threat along with Capela and it makes their pick'n'roll offense that much more difficult to defend. I really hope Kerr pays close attention to these Hawks because I think there is a lot the Warriors can incorporate from this Hawks offense.

Great decision by Collins to decline Atlanta's extension and bet on himself. He's definitely getting a max in the offseason. A lob threat, great rebounder, and has shown the ability to hit the three in big moments. Man's a beast

To Continue your conclusion of dumb Basketball and you mention the flaws of Brook in the Drop coverage. But man, during the Covid Lockdown i've went through a series of Online Meetings with my Players and taught them everything about the PnR, ive just watched a whole series plus a game 1, where NBA teams can't figure out how to limit Trae. Mind you I explained some of the stuff to my 13/14 yr players, that stuff should muscle memory for these guys. And I'm not taking anything away from Trae, he's a brilliant passer and finisher downhill, has phenomenal deception plus he's a good shooter. But we´re talking about mistakes on basic PnR principles, not tagging the roller from the Weakside, dropping even though the roller isnt in threatening position and not showing hard on a baseline drive, plus all the things u already mentioned . And then having Connaughton on an island for multiple possessions, for Trae to get hot from deep. Bud should be the first coach to be fired during a series.

For who? Team like the Dubs or blazers Collins, but a Charlotte or NOP you gotta go with the upside of MPJ..

Solomon "where would you like to go?" Hill 😂

athleticalchemy

It’s the bread and butter of hoops for a reason. But to just bend over is astonishing, you could probably here Me irritated in the breakdown… and idgf bout the bucks

U mentioned the upcoming rule changes on the podcast, I think they should get rid of the fastbreak fouls as well, it denies the offense a clear advantage, there were a few occasions in this game. In Europe they changed it a few years ago, now they call a flagrant 1 on every intentionally stopped fastbreak.

Anyone else notice Jrue's 4 steps into his 3 pointer at 10:40? lmao Also thoughts on if Bud is still fired if they get out of this series and lose in the Finals?

The analysis on Portis' eyes is what makes me a patron for life LMAO

So what's the best way to deal with that high pick and roll for the bucks defense? I personally thing that A. Lopez cant play when Trae is on the court and B. whoever is guarding the screener just needs to trap Trae and force him to hit the short roller. Idk who as a short roller on the hawks would be a good enough decision maker to kill them as bad as Trae has been in that drop coverage. Letting Trae run the show like that and hoping the others choke isn't the move I feel like.

I’m telling you man I’ve been saying it. Hawks remind me a lot of Brooklyn. Somebody is always coming up big. Collins looks like he’s solidifying the big bag. This is going to be an epic finals. Let me ask you this Alc. who you taking? Capella or Gobert

athleticalchemy

Switch up between showing hard, trapping and switching.. with a small line up of Pj Gi KM In the front court

Anonymous

They should trap Trae decisively with any opportunities they have and use their height advantage to limit passing lanes, create live turnovers and run the hawks off the floor with their athleticism. I remember how Gasol was already quite slow in that 2019 finals, but he showed and trapped hard and was able to create TOs by literately just standing straight up

I hope the Hawks advance. The Bucks just don't play the right way. Maybe it's a pecking order issue like you said, or maybe it's just low BBIQ.

Anonymous

Clearly I maybe didn't watch enough Hawks games during the regular season. What I did see of them appeared pretty boring and Trey pounding the air out of the ball. But shit these Hawks in theplayoffs even short handed and a little banged up are hella fun to watch. Hawks to the finals in their first playoff run in however long would be amazing. Let's go!

Great game and great content as usual. A little off topic but how do you feel about the Kobe and booker comparisons. I watched the majority of Kobe’s career and I think booker plays nothing like him. I feel like once the sports media starts a narrative, then everyone eats it up. Feels like people never watched Kobe when making that comparison. Bothers tf out of me.

athleticalchemy

Thanks… too me he is the closest!…is he on Kobs level? of course not. He isnt the athlete Kobe was..and no one was as intense. But you don’t see the influence and similarities in there foot work and pull up game? I get to some it’s blasphemous to mention anyone with Kob outside of the Mount Rushmore. Too me, their games are similar, Kobe was just on another level

Anonymous

Only thing was the footwork, so I’ll give you that.. but I don’t see anything else. Having a similar footwork structure and pull-up game to Kobe, I still wouldn’t compare them. The closest thing to Michael Jordan is Kobe. And by comparing Booker to Kobe, aren’t you also following the latter? Surprised you didn’t say Tatum... he at least trained with Kobe. And has similar footwork as well.

athleticalchemy

Idk you gonna see what you see.. Book was mentored by Kobe before his brief summer work with Tatum

Alc we have to draft moody. If you could please do a scouting report on him

Anonymous

Technical question Alc: why didn't the Bucks or Sixers to exploit Trae on the defensive side. Lebron or Rocket against GSW attacks/gets a switch on Curry like half of all possessions. And Trae is much smaller than Steph as well. I don't get it.

athleticalchemy

There seems to be a divide in coaching. The “system” guys don’t want to disrupt their system by doing so. Where the old school or former player coaches like Ty, will hunt it all night

Russ

I agree that Middleton probably feels like he was the go to player for so long for them but now he seems to have slipped to the 3rd option or second option of non Giannis basketball players. That has to be a hard one. I’ve always marveled at players that can float around without shooting for 10 plays and then be asked to make a contested 3 or a fadeaway from 18 feet. Most can’t do it. Middle ton is perhaps that type. Used to being high use and now isn’t.

The Bucks are really a few adjustments away from being taken seriously. Just passing ahead in transition would do wonders for this team.
