Lmao I'm dying at how you said whoa whoa pump the brakes on that 6.5 out of the 8th seed talk

Paul Hanson

Definitely the most satisfying win of the new season so far. Although some people say tank-I seem to remember that New Orleans got the top pick last year with the 7th worst record. There's a good chance that the 5th, 6th, 7th worst record in the league will be somewhere in the mid-20 wins region. I'm fine if the team keeps building confidence in good winning habits. I'd rather see that than a New York Knicks tank job with no guarantee of a great pick at the end of it.

How I feel about the way James Harden plays my game....detest....I detest the way harden plays the game. I am so pleased with the way the young/new warriors have handled all these losses, continued to play hard, continued to improve, and played as good teammates unselfishly. My only worry going forward is that both 2 way players have earned a roster spot and full contract and that can't happen without jettisoning full contract players and frankly the only player I've given up on is Poole.

I missed the clips lakers game last night any plans for big game breakdown on that one? Also god damn it will never get old seeing the rockets lose

athleticalchemy

no I have a Lakers trade video coming tomorrow.. but I will also give my take on all the Christmas games in this weeks pod

Was waiting for this after that win! Appreciate dray giving a shot out to Willie Cauley. Dude has been stepping up. His defense is better than advertised if he can take a page out of Stephen A's book and "stay off the weedddd-duh!" I heard somewhere this was the biggest Christmas day upset in 30 years! Lets go!

Maybe it’s just different camera angles but it seems like willie bulked up a bit since the last time I looked at him. Also appears that he’s moving with much more fluidity and purpose. Might be confirmation bias seeing how well he’s played in the past week though.

Its like the cookie test with 5 year olds..."you can eat 1 cookie right now...or! have two if you wait"

This, and the lack of whistles, and the lack of heart, is why Harden will never, but never win a ring as the main option.

Anonymous

Also notable, draymond mentioned “the key to these wins has been willie cauley stein” in his interview. You think dray called him out last week?

Oh, and Alch: hell yes--HELL YES--I wanted this win, whatever the damage to the tank. And why Spelly isn't getting minutes is the big mystery. Is it a ceiling thing...? Like Chriss vs. WCS? Or Burks vs. GRIII, who's a better athlete but not a hooper? And Smiley--! So many mysteries this New Year's--I can't wait. Why am I more hyped about a goddamn tanking regular season than a Finals-bound won? My adrenaline is pumping in every close game again. It's like being back in 2014 or 2015 when you can see the shimmer of greatness just around the corner.

As you likely know, I posted this comment to your last 49ers game, but thought I would post it here again for your Warrior fans, as I think I speak on behalf of all your Patreons, so, here goes …. I have learned so much from you, and received so much joy from your videos, that I just have to say THANK YOU, and Merry Christmas! I hope 2020 is the best year yet for you and your whole family. And as further thanks, here's a short poetic tribute …. Athletic Alchemy is a joy to behold. / He's edifying, funny, and oh so bold. / Blessed we are that he creates the space / to share his wisdom with unparalleled grace.

Only so many minutes. If I were to guess. He had the weight issue which would suggest he is not the most disciplined. They probably want to keep him working and hungry. I agree tho, there is a intrigue to this season and a freshness. No pressure just enjoy, knowing the Empire will strike back!

🙏🏽 🙏🏽🙏🏽 Stefan thank you for all your encouragement and support. I wish you an abundant 2020!

Rockets blogboys tryna make excuses saying that Green and Dlo are all star level players and this blowout was expected. Love to see them niggas go into excuse #2893 for losing against us. Merry Christmas Alch, and to all a good Ass whooping to them spreadsheets. 😂

Ezra Abbey

This one felt good. I think this is the first time since the beginning of the run that we actually got a favorable whistle, maybe the refs have finally decided to hate someone else. I wonder if that'll stop once the Chef comes back. Merry Christmas, Alch!

what a Merry Christmas it turned out to be! Good job GS!

God I love watching the Rockets walk off the floor after an L.

Dan Doerge

Kerr came through BIG TIME: "At one point the ref told me ... he wanted me to our guys not to run on the floor and I said, 'That's not gonna happen. We've had a lousy season. We're gonna run on the floor. So if you gotta call a T, call a T,'" Kerr said to reporters on Thursday.

I'd love to see some vid about the upcoming potential roaster adjustment. Next up is Jazz. I feel like we might see another W.

Hell yea im all for the tank now after this win! Lets see if my comment wont disappear anymore

Anonymous

hell yeaaaa! All for the tank now! Hopefully this comment doesnt disappear right after i post it lol

This win felt like 10 wins. The humiliation to our most hated team on Christmas with everyone balling... man . Damion Lee seems like he is getting some of that private shooting tutoring from Steph. And he can flop well too? We can't say shit about nepotism now

Anonymous

Harden egotistical...?? I know he can be lazy and bitchy Alch, and annoying at times and I get why his peers and Nba fans detest him... but I'm pretty sure there are a myriad of other players in the league who are also egotistical.

Anonymous

Btw, although Harden's efforts on D was bad, Westbrook, is far worse. For example on the 2nd rockets v clippers meeting, he refused to run back on transition and gave up the three that won them the game. And that wasn't the first or last time that happened. Although harden is nonchalant and uncompetitive at times, he at least tries when in some situations although he should be called out on his laziness as you said he should.

athleticalchemy

of course every star has a big ego, that's part of being a star. But how do you mange it? Hardens ego is out a control..if you cant see that IDK what to tell you. Russ has his warts but comparing his effort level to Harden is damn near blasphemy

athleticalchemy

Your right Russ does leave a lot to be desired defensively as well. I know it impossible when its your team. But if you try to watch Harden objectively he is a terrible teammate. Did you see the footage of him on the end of the bench while Russ was trying to rally the team? This isnt a isolated event. He has history of this, and as much as I cant stand CP's on court antics. He peeped it and was done with dude.

Anonymous

I think the thing is Harden's laziness = ego. If he didn't save his energy solely for is iso offense and actually helped or moved off ball, that would be the example of selflessness that Curry has. Russ is no different.

athleticalchemy

well said..I think Russ is different tho. He will sell out for lose balls run the floor. No doubt its his ego jacking up 3s and being inefficient. But I think he thinks.. he is doing what the team needs like 90% of the time. Where Harden knows better with the stuff he does. Never thought id be defending Russ...I also think Houston has built Harden into this.. they have allowed this style and hyped it. Very interested to see how harden plays when this gets blown up. We know its in him to be a winning player. Back to my point with Russ he can really only play one way.

Anonymous

That's fair Alch, maybe I can't see that Harden's ego is out of control due to my status as a fan. But I do agree why people don't like him as he doesn't rally his team on the bench and stays in the half court not even bothering to help the team when they were in trouble. I absolutely agree with everything you say about harden being a bad teammate. However, although Russ's heart and motor on the offensive end is amazing despite his poor shooting, don't let it fool your perception of his effort on defense which is very 50-50. Like Harden... his lack of defense has actually cost the rockets games this year. Yeah.... but you're right, Harden needs to stop being egotistical like he is before things go south, and im not sure if that's possible unless that happens.

John Z

This win is worth every loss.
