Not the level of detail I wanted but this was a beast to do, just watching this game was exhausting.Having them both play on the same night should only happen 2 more times.

Great vid Alch! Keep at. As a Seahawks fan, I really liked the foot ball breakdown. 49ers are definitely looking good this year. Can't wait for our next matchup.

athleticalchemy

Thanks AJ! It’s nice to have this rivalry back. Congrats on the win!

Major Powers

Never been able to stand any SF teams as an East Bay boy (I can only barely tolerate the Warriors now). Always the Bay's red headed step children. The hate will never leave for the 9ers, who were the Spurs of the NFL during my entire childhood. Love the breakdowns tho.

athleticalchemy

I didn’t really have a choice. Joe and Jerry while The raiders were in LA.. forget about it! Lot a room to grow with these but I’ll take it in stride.

Major Powers

Oh I can't stand the Raiders either. Shit ownership. Got mad at the A's too, shit ownership trying to move the team. But I still think it's a sad joke that the San Jose 9ers still get SF love. I'd still be pissed af if I lived near SF and was a 9ers fan. That move was some straight corny silicon valley cash grab shit.

Major Powers

(At least the Warriors only moved like 8 miles away, which I can stomach, even tho I think it's corny, too) I'm just on some Oakland, El Cerrito, Richmond, Vallejo shit. Interstate 80 4 life.

Major Powers

Anyway all that aside, I love your sports coverage in general, how you see the games, how you talk about the games. Way better than our own local coverage here. Seriously, I'm not blowing smoke up your ass, I'd way rather watch your break downs than anyone else's at this point. You have a very satisfying way of talking, breaking it down, you keep a perfect balance of entertainment and information. Infotainment.

athleticalchemy

Thanks man! Trying to expand is a grind, but it’s easy in the sense that I’m just being me. How are you liking Fitz and Buke?

Major Powers

Fucking hate it for two reasons: putting the announcers up in some sterile booth is fucking criminal. Do any other NBA teams have their announcer team not on the floor? I'm sure there's some but I've never noticed it. I think it sucks. The energy of being on the floor changes the announcing. Fuck SF. Second: Buke literally sounds like Fitz. One Fitz was one Fitz too many. Now we have fucking TWO. Dear god I miss JB. Buke seems like a totally sweet guy and he's fine as a third. But as the color guy with Fitz it's fucking ear death. I'd listen to the radio feed instead if it wasn't out of sync with the video.

Major Powers

Tim Roy + Jim Barnett is night and day compared to the TV broadcast. It's not even close. It's like the 49ers vs. the John Muir Elementary Pee Wee Football team.

athleticalchemy

Yeah I don’t want to go at his life, or rip his face off.... but your right there is no balance, sometimes I can’t even tell who is who. I see them pregame I didn’t realize they were up there the whole game. Thats terrible! Might as well let me do it from my bedroom...

Major Powers

Yeah the Chase Geniuses axed having the announcers on the floor for like 6 more front row seats or something. Not feeling it. Penny pinching billionaires are a BIG turn off.

Great review Alch. Though I find it weird hearing a breakdown from an analyst that favors the OTHER team. GO HAWKS!!!!

Seahawks going to the Superbowl baby

Paul Hanson

Excellent work man! My first time watching your football breakdowns. What an epic game. You caught just about everything there that was most important. There's a lot of people complaining about Jimmy G-but it should be noted that there are NOT a lot of quarterbacks like Russell Wilson. I thought that the return of McGlinchey and Staley was part of the reason they couldn't get any consistency of a pocket for Jimmy G-and Jimmy G didn't help himself by turning the ball over with a scoop and score fumble. The injury to Sanders REALLY sucked-because the elephant in the room is the wide receiver core with a bad case of the dropsies. You just CAN'T do what Kendrick Bourne did-it hit him RIGHT in the hands and it goes through to a Seattle DB. And dropping the ball in the red zone. That all said-it was folly to think that the 49ers would go all the way undefeated-although that game should have been won by the Niners but they weren't quite ready to slay the dragon. When I heard earlier last week that Kittle wasn't playing-that kind of set it up and then when Sanders went out-I kind of saw this coming. Now they have to forget about it and get back together for Arizona.

athleticalchemy

I’m worried about Kittle.. teams are not transparent about injuries. With stars especially, they like to try and trickle out the real diagnosis.

Matt Hanna

Yea you nailed it, very tough and exhausting game to watch. So many what-ifs in that game and especially in the 4th quarter. Give credit to Seattle for the pass rush but we NEED Kittle and Sanders. That is a very good offense with both on the field.

athleticalchemy

Agreed..fingers crossed! Like I said above, I have very little trust in their initial injury reports. Just look out how they announced Taylor early on...

Strong Foru

Ciara is feeding Russell hella good!

bro this is fire. great breakdown. definitely did not realize you had this much football knowledge

Jansen E

Havent watched it yet but commenting first just cuz Im excited. I love that youre breaking down the 49ers games. I needed an outlet for this haha. This game had so many ups and downs. The defense really showed how great they are but injuries and lack of experience really hurt us. I think these injuries already are the downfall of this team. They just cant seem to stay healthy and there will be no superbowl unforntunately. Not until they have 100% team.

Thomas Ogas

Damn good breakdown, Alch! I'm a patron because of your basketball analysis, so I just watched this as a curiosity to see how you'd cover football and I'm impressed with your choice of clips, points of emphasis, and how you effectively communicate the flow and story of the game.

athleticalchemy

Thanks! Lot of room for improvement, the pace is so different. I’ve been a 9er fan just as long as I’ve been a Warriors fan. I’m keep at it. Glad you enjoyed it!

Jansen E

Goodwin. Bourne. Pettis. I cant stand any of them. They cant get open on routes, and when they do, theyre completely inept and unreliable on catching. Like seriously I can see Pettis running down the sideline scott free, no defender within 20 yards, perfect throw........and its LESS than a toss-up chance of whether or not he'll come down with it. I know Jimmy didnt have a great night. Had a lot of poor decisions late in the game. But I basically attribute that to his mindset after seeing Sanders go down and his WRs dropping everything. I felt bad for Jimmy knowing he had to stand in the pocket with Clowney bearing down on him, and he knows that if he throws it, no matter how good or bad of a pass it is, theres an 80% chance its getting picked or dropped solely cuz his targets are all actual trash.

athleticalchemy

Thanks! Didn’t play.. but I coached flag for years, and have played a lot of madden 🤓 But yeah been a 9er fan all my life.

I'm a little late on this but Mioci might give Furry a fight. Tyson is High key washed and he knows it, that's why he's picking all these trash money fights while ducking the smoke from Wilder.

athleticalchemy

Idk.. stipe hands never seemed that great too me. His elite trait is his toughness. Maybe he can take one to give two and stay in his face. But Furry is so awkward and elusive. I have a hard time seeing it be competitive unless Furry wants to play around.
