PORTLAND FANS ON SUICIDE WATCH... I REMEMBER THE OKC GAME WHEN I QUESTIONED DO WE REAAAAALY NEED KD 🤔🤔🤔

Anonymous

Cook, bell, jerebgoat, looney, mckinnie = The fellowship of the Ring 😂

Meyers "Better than Kawhi" Leonard almost ruined my prediction of a 4-0 sweep. Refs also trying to ruin it. Leonard made 30 points on 89% TS, hopefully this game helps his career. It's probably a 90% chance Bucks get to the finals. Looking at the regular season gameplays, they've doubled Steph even outside PnR. This is where having Boogie and KD may be crucial. Their guards are lengthy but slow so I'm curious how the motion offense works out. Klay's offense has been too inefficient this post season, he needs to pick some better shots and try taking more drives to the rim; clutch defense though. Draymond and Curry have to be the main ball handlers, not KD.

Not having the first two games at Oracle is going to be weird.

Anonymous

Tbh honest I think starting on the road is good for us. If we can get game 1 on either of both teams their lack of experience for these kind of moments will give us all the momentum.

Anonymous

This game really shouldn't have been close and Alch's analysis was spot on. Leaving Leonard open way too many times in the beginning, Klay with the usual questionable off balance shot making, horrible refs in the 4th quarter, etc. Klay is just too satisfied with his shot the moment he receives the ball, it's the opposite of regular season Durant who was too concerned with finding easy shot opportunities instead of creating them.

Strong Foru

What do think of the sports journalists saying that Steph, Dray and Klay want to win this Championship without KD to prove a point?my feeling is that if we play the Bucks, we absolutely need him at 100% along with Boogie.

...chased down by headband Shmeagol - "I want my precious!"...

...but a great opportunity to steal one right out of the box.

Anonymous

So a micro-moment in the game - with 0.1 left in regulation Kerr doesn't put anyone under the basket and doesn't put DJ in the game. Is the concern an offensive foul? That one just confused me.

i just want tor/bucks to go long

I would be shocked if the Warriors wouldn't prefer Toronto in the Finals. For one, Kawhi looked like he had a hard time running in Game 3 as something appears to be up with him. He's had to carry a huge offensive load with some of his teammates being hesitant to shoot/make plays all of a sudden. So the Warriors would get an exhausted and beat down Kawhi in the Finals. Also, the Raptors get stagnant sometimes so they shouldn't be too difficult to defend. If the Warriors execute their offense properly, then I'm sure they believe they can easily outscore them. Milwaukee however is the younger and fresher team who has consistently given Warriors some trouble each season. As you may remember they broke the their beginning season win streak in 2015-16 season. Their length and determination to stick with their men and fight over screens could provide some rough moments for the Warriors getting clean shots up. As long as they don't guard Lopez like they did Leonard last night, the series shouldn't get out of hand. Since the Bucks play five out on the floor, I'd think Draymond gets the Giannis assignment be he can match him strength and speed wise. This could in turn allow the Warriors to not double Giannis and break down the defense to create open threes. It could, funny enough, be more of a defensive then offensive series. Due to the first time Finals jitters, I think the Warriors can still win the series, but Milwaukee would definitely be the tougher matchup.

Miles Leonard, what a player, yea like Timofey Mozgov what a player, didn't he get 33 against us in a final but then back to earth.

Lemonade shot 45% from three this year and is 38.5% career, so that didn't come out of nowhere. But I still don't think abandoning a strategy because a guy hits a couple makes a lot of sense - he's not Klay, he isn't going to hit 8 or 10 in a row, so every one he hits smells like the last one. It's kind of a horse-barn thing to me. Re the finals, I actually think they can win without KD, if Boogie is back and not rusty and Iggy is 100%, but KD obviously increases the odds. What I worry about is the adjustment, and particularly what the KD on-court reaction might be to the way they've been playing and all the talk about the best role for KD for the Warriors is at home on the sofa. That he hasn't been out on the bench and didn't make the trip isn't a good look, even if there are legit reasons re the injury. Right now if he's really decided to bail it wouldn't shock me if he just pulls a mini-Kawhi and doesn't bother showing up. It wouldn't shock me, but it would surprise me, I'd hate to think he's that deep into his own feelings. But this is going to be the longest ten days in the lives of a lot of Warrior fans, wondering what they'll see on the other end of the tunnel...

Maybe the Warriors can start a big contract (from playing against the warriors) club and Leonard can join Tristan Thompson, Timofey Mozgov, & Clint Cappella as overpaid big guys who can no longer be traded due to an inflated contract and so continue to hang around the neck of their team long after the Warriors have broken them.

Bucks/Raptors I just want 7 games but living here in Montreal you'd expect some Canadian Network to carry the NBA finals each year right, right.....no, no NBA finals for you! Unless you have Cable/Sat. Which carry TSN (Canadian ESPN). Would one of the major Canadian Networks pony up if the Raptors made it? IDK......

Bucks are the tougher team, but Kawhi has never really lost to the Warriors. He’s a scary dude.

Anonymous

Despite the sweep, this was the most fun series to watch. Great year from Blazers.

Anonymous

I missed this episode for lunch so am having it for dessert

Macca

Poor Rodney Hood, swept 3 consecutive years by the Warriors, playing for 3 different teams. That’s just bad luck 😂

Anonymous

Loved Meyers Leonard's effort this game, and I cant wait for the Thursday Pod!

Since you ask … I want Toronto. It's just so much fun to watch Kawhi. Plus -- and I know this silly, but I'm serious -- the Buck's stadium has the stupidest, most infantile music, desecrating a beautiful sport into a 2-year-old's birthday party. It's as insulting as all the advertising that now disgustingly permeates every minute of major league baseball. And it's almost as insidious as those fucking camera guys placed so near to the basket, constantly putting the players in danger. Did you see Steph take another fall onto a camera dude after taking another shot? Suppose he had come up limping again, or with a fractured finger or skull? Oh, but I forget … Money rules.

Anonymous

I'd definitely want Toronto. They have very little scoring and no depth. Milwaukee is a tough matchup with all their long bodies, even though we can take full advantage of their lack of 3 point defense.

Anonymous

def not the shot you want with 3 seconds left...

creuset

to choose between toronto and milwaukee... i say, let fate decide. but i only ask fate to make it a long series between them--so they can expose each other's weak/strong points. in kerr and our high iq team i trust. and the gravy on top is if all injured players come back and make needed contributions at the right time (and steph finals mvp this time).

Yo alc, when are videos going back on YouTube?

Anonymous

"back in college with the double team"...I see what you did there 🤣😂. A couple of those bad shots from Klay, are always bad shots but he hits them. And not that he can hit them, he's been hitting them. The turn around from the block especially. So I don't fault him for that. I think part of it was he was trying to make up for lack of options by being aggressive, but klays problem is he only knows how to do that 1 way, and that's too shoot. Plus he knows he has the size advantage, it almost fools him into taking them. Then after 4 or 5 bad misses on shots he knows he probably shouldn't have taken, he got in his head. But 1 of the worst ones he took was the damn game tying one. So fuck man, what do ya do? Kerr should've got him some better looks after seeing the ones he was taking a missing. Post him up iso on CJ for a couple easy ones, I guess. I think as fans were too hard in the team in general throughout the year. We look back in hindsight and can always think of the better choice, or smarter play, and we know what they're capable of doing so we almost expect perfection. But decisions aren't made after the fact. We get to criticize decisions after knowing the outcome. They don't. But that's also why sports talk is a billion dollar business. That ECF is going 7!

Love how Kerr called Looney a "foundational player" after the game. It really needed to be said. He's become so important to this team's success. So solid and reliable. I don't think most people appreciate his bball mind. He's one of the smartest players on the team. His bball IQ is super high. I can't recall any period during the past 2 years that he hasn't gotten better. His game is constantly improving. I would not be surprised at all if he develops into a reliable 35-40% 3pt shooter. I think re-signing Looney is a big time priority.

Anonymous

I always say the same thing. I want to play whoever wins. GSW's biggest opponent is always themselves.

Anonymous

if you wana drop something on youtube, title it “does the warriors need kd” pretty hot topic, it can probably get a bit more views

Anonymous

Looney's net rating and TS% is prerty insane, it's not talked about enough compared to his rebounding prowess. When he's out there Warriors have the best starting 5.

athleticalchemy

his development is very unique for a basketball player. You almost never see this slow steady climb

Just wow! We swept Portland without KD

Neal X

I had considered the Bucks a sure bet but if karma has its way, Kawhi gets to take his fair shot at us after being denied by Zaza's foot. But hey, this seems to be our year for taking all the fair shots, and putting all the doubts to rest.

Freddie D

What do you think about Damien Jones? I don't think he will be a warrior next year. I feel bad for the guy. Everybody got a moment to shine in that series except him.

Anonymous

Hi Alchemy, Would like to see an episode on your take on GSW's roster change in the next two years with regarding Durant/Klay/Draymond's contracts. Thanks!!

Anonymous

If we go 2-0 without Durant, does Kerr put Durant in the starting lineup and risk change in rhythm? Does KD even want to play in that scenario or does he maybe want to see the team lose a game or two? All these cute hypotheticals man. Based on their "hopeful" injury report it looks like there's even a chance KD never comes back in time.

Anonymous

Wow Bucks choked hard. I'm shocked Raptors won 4 games in a row. But this is the matchup Warriors wanted. I'm optimistic that Warriors take the championship over the Raptors. Now we just need Paul Pierce to favor the Raptors to guarantee it.

Gotta go back to the 21st for the non-$7 tier content? Time to cancel.

athleticalchemy

I put out a 45 min pod/vid and I am working on a series preview out ASAP. Bu t if you feel like your not getting your moneys worth by all means peace!
