Evans has been super unimpressive, I don't see him getting any tick next year, he might have to spend a year in Santa Cruz. Hopefully McCaw come back and he can be that scoring we need in the backup 2 guard...Also I agree that Bell to needs to look for his more often especially since he's going to get a lot more PT next season.

Major Powers

Alc, I really like Jordan Bell. Cocky as hell, swatting dunks, talking shit, runs like he has slippers on (you pointed out it's a non-committal linebacker shuffle so he can change direction, good catch), but in a full sprint has lightweight NFL speed and his jumper actually looks silky as fuck. Can he ever develop into Draymond 2.0, what do you think of his BBIQ so far? My only fear is he also has a little pretty boy, flashy thing going on, and Draymond is just like a get shit done workhorse kinda guy.

"I'm exited." I'd be exited too if I was getting 44 million at 36 when I hopefully am the best player off the bench. Evans has no shot this year to score at the rim against a playoff level team. And his stroke just doesn't look natural and he's not a stopper on the other end of the floor...think I'd still rather have on the roster than Melo though;)

Russ

Agree on Evans AA, very underwhelming, Did Bob and the boys finally make a wrong step? Wow that pic of Kerr below is scary..

It looks like a Whiff. If he starts knocking down the 3 ball maybe that will give him some swag.

it looks like it! Im kind of intrigued to see how this plays out with Pat and perhaps other ring chasers.

I am not going to judge Evans yet. Yes his stroke needs a bit of work as you much AA, but I think a lot of what will fix his issues is strengthening his legs. I was a water polo goalie in college which requires a lot of explosive leg work (not exactly the same, but the strength training we had was similar to the basketball team in the gym) so give him time to strengthen those loader muscles that give explosiveness, gave me a huge boost in power by training those explosive load muscles. Give him a few months training with the strength coach and I imagine some of the knocks we have with him won't be as big of a concern. I don't think he will ever be the leader Dray is, that is innate. I think his IQ and skills will be right there. You know! ....Its a fine line dealing with cocky/confidence . the danger I think with him is 1. Health as we have discussed. 2. will he get complacent if he gets a big deal or makes an Allstar team? There is way more a chance of that with a guy like him as opposed to say an Ingram or a H Barnes...but than again those guys will never snatch a guys soul on the court like a Bell or young Bagley will.

athleticalchemy

wow we have seem none of that. Has he had an injury? That looks like a year ago. I was strictly a 2 foot jumper all thru my 20's. Now I rarely plant and go off two finishing at the rim. It took me years to get comfortable with it. But it allows for so many more options in the pain. It also is way less stress on my body.

They said they got evans to guard and switch everything and his basketball iq. We shall see how it develops with boys on the court won't doubt bob until midseason. That guy jacob from utah is a size eye but I guess he's better than nick young.

Russ

I'm happy with the Jonas signing. He was a monster in limited minutes in Boston's series with Cleveland this year. He's fearless even though he looks pretty slight, it's funny with Euro's, they can usually shoot and tend to be good passers. And he switched well in the playoffs and shot well from the 3pt. line. I don't know his weakness but there must be one if we got him this cheap. And thanks Chris H for the Evans clip, I have seen his college tapes where he moves much better, maybe it is his toe injury or something because he looks like his own father out there so far.

you made me look up the draft combine results... Evans actually surprised me a bit that his results are all about average (leap, sprint, bench press, etc), and i was agreeing with you that he looked very unathletic in the videos... i think he belongs athletically, it's just that a lot of time he chooses to manuver around without using too much athleticsim (maybe to preserve knees or just not to get injured or save his stamina). in the end, i think his bbiq is goinna more than make up his seemingly lack of athleticsim and will be a solid bench player in years to come

athleticalchemy

He is a straight line athlete, From what I remember he struggles with guys quicker than him, not stronger. Really like him too. Check out the link of the pod in the last post.

Don't get me wrong! It is way too soon to judge him. But judge we shall! haha na but I think I just expected a bigger frame and for him to look to handle more considering 3 years at Cin.
