Couldn't believe the lineup we put out to start the 4th. 12 min to effectively bury our only competition for the title, all the momentum in our favor, how are the starters not out there? I feel like one solid run to start the 4th would've put the game away.

How are the starters not there to start the 4th? Well KD, Klay, Green and Steph nearly played the whole 3rd quarter and they had to in order to get that 10 point lead heading into the 4th. There was no surprise that KD and Klay sat for 2 minutes because they needed rest. Our bench didn’t deliver and our stars didn’t deliver when it mattered, bottom line.

Somehow I knew the Steph-pass-to-unaware-Dray TO leading to a easy layup by Beard was gonna be huge and I was right. Last thing we wanted was to allow Houston to claw back into the game. KD either needs to adjust or be a decoy and run plays for others as like you said, Rockets are not letting him to get to his spot. Dre was definitely missed this game as however great Looney has become this year, Dubs still need Dre's defense and playmaking. Indeed it was CP3 that killed the Dubs in the 2nd half and I feel he wouldn't have gone off had Dre played since I think Dray being out of position defensively was a result of Iguodala's absence.

I was at the game last night. I felt exactly the same. Rockets handed us the best possible start ever and it was very dissapointing that weren't up by at least 20 points. Too many careless turnovers and their heads were not in the game. I knew Charles Barkley jinked us when he joked we should sweep this series in 3 games after game 1. This freaking game might cost us the whole season. Also I'm freakin' annoyed to watch this game that I paid too much money for.

I don't know where to start. It was a terrible game from all the warriors. It's as if they don't respect the opponent at all or have a healthy level of respect where you don't sense danger. Credit to Houston for their hunger and fight. Warriors must match that level of physicality in Houston.

athleticalchemy

Thats the positive, we didn't play well at all. But Apparently the Andre injury is real and he may not go in game 5.

Amazing game as an NBA fan - def good for the league for Warriors to have some competition. Rockets have to play extremely hard to beat us though, and even then, we have to mess up some. Rockets playing super-tight on defense definitely caused issues. If we can make them pay for reaching and going for steals though, they'll have to back off or get blown by. I think (and hope) with the pressure back on us, we'll do that the remainder of the series.

Hey Alc, I've been reluctant to think about the Dubs all day. I did get notice that the new Steph t-shirt - This is My F**ing House ! is available, but it didn't seem like his house last night. https://hoopernation.shop/collections/t-shirt/products/steph-curry-this-is-my-fuc-ing-house-chibi-10-colors-available?variant=8380827631677

I'm coming back from the dead because of the pre-game discussion relative to the personnel decisons made to get here. The Warriors have no bench, because they have kept six centers all year, four of whom are apparently worthless in this series, they cut Casspi to keep Cook, who they needed because Curry and McCaw were hurt, so now they have Iguodala and McCaw hurt and a third big wing, Klay, limping, and no Casspi as a critical 3-4 swingman off the bench. Which means they have no bench, just S-dot and Swaggy as wings and Cook, who like the centers almost can't be played until garbage time - he can't iso up on Harden. I said they went too thin at forward when the cut Casspi, they should have cut Zaza instead, and in retrospect Za has contributed absolute zero in the playoffs, not just this series. I told the guy next to me at the bar last night with 4 or 5 minutes to go the Warriors were going to lose because they looked exhausted, and today I heard one of the talking heads (Nick Wright?) say the big four each played the most or 2nd-most minutes they'd played in a game all year. My take - if the Warriors lose this thing it's based on personnel decisions, even if some of those were driven by injuries. I have been saying the Warriors roster is unbalanced all year, and now they're paying for it.

I know I shouldn't believe in superstition, but noticed something in the past season with the Warriors that I started paying attention to.... when the game opens up and the other team scores first. The Warriors have a 90% chance of winning the game. During the playoffs, it's even higher. Yeah, they've won games when Warriors have scored first, but it feels more comforting when the other team scores first against the Dubs. So, please Dubs... let'em score on you first, then you guys can take the game!

Warriors are now beyond threatened, they're underdogs going into Houston. Of course they've beaten the Rockets in their own gym before, however Game 5 might be a slug fest based on the fact that 3-2 for either team is quite a commanding lead. The diffuser is if Draymond can get going from 3, or Klay, or Steph drops 40, with a healthy dose of KD in there. Thee dubs could very well blow the Rockets out in game 5, not even because the 3 ball, but because the Rockets are now legit contenders in Golden States eyes. If we did not turn the ball over, and did not foul so much, game 4 would have been ours. Warriors kind of beat themselves. All that being written, the question of if the Rockets truly are better will be answered either way. They have the confidence now, and a game plan to beat the dubs. I could be wrong, I could be, but, I think the Warriors still got this. The next game will be about a balancing act between poise and aggression to get a win. Dubs up!

You know, I've noticed that too. I've always thought the Warriors tend to not score the first opening bucket.

Epic I told you so return lol! Nah welcome back man! I missed your takes. McCaw going down really threw a wrench in things. If you read between the lines with TK and the beat writers. They really implied Casspi didn’t fight to keep his spot.. or never really got over the injury enough for them to consider him. Sure could use him now!

I'm not saying Warriors didn't play like trash but Mike Callahan was a huge factor in why the Warriors lost. That guy has some ridiculous recorded bias against the Warriors.

This is definitely a war of attrition, and I'm worried. That Harden flop. FFS. And I wish Steph would stop the dances and shimmies. Act like nothing happened at all. Business as usual. Don't start celebrating when the game is still in question! OK, I'm still a little salty. The previous rounds had more than 1 day between games. I think the intensity is getting to us and the 1 day of rest isn't enough. I think in gm4 the Dubs starters were tired. Hopefully Kerr recognized this and will have a light practice today. And I wish the fucking refs would call that Capela over the back! It is definitely draining Dray.

Swaggy is so frustrating. 11:36: WTH. The dude shoots less than 50% from the line...foul the holy crap out of him, Nick. What was that?

Great analysis, especially on what caused problems for KD. Very rare that you see KD be so inefficient. But I disagree that we let Houston back in the game in the 1Q or that we were lackadaisical. We were never in control of this game. I don't think people are giving Houston enough credit. Houston is really really fukn good, man. Fans gotta realize this is a historically great team we're playing. Our toughest opponent ever. Even tho we got off to that 12-0 lead, that was, as AA likes to say, fool's gold. Our offense was not good. The only reason we even had a lead late in the game was Curry's heroics. But we are having significant issues on offense. Houston's switch everything defense is giving us problems and we have not figured it out. There's ways to beat constant switching but Houston is doing it very well and we gotta be on point if we're gonna beat it. And when we can't get a shot off against the switching, we are throwing it to KD to save us but he can't get to his favorite spots bc Houston's strong defenders are moving him out. I think we're gonna see some significant adjustments in G5. I don't think we can keep running the offense so much thru KD. We gotta run it thru Curry. We need to play with more focus and intensity and have better game plans/strategies to beat the constant switching. I think we need more Curry high PnR. One thing I don't think people talk enough about is how physically strong Houston is. Kerr talked about this today. Almost every guy they're playing has a big strength advantage against us. So we can't try to play the style of game they are, but that's what we did in G4. Physical teams have always given us trouble, going back to Memphis in 2015, OKC 2016, Cavs 2016. Houston physically wore us down in this game and we allowed it bc we let the game become like a wrestling match. That's not who we are. We don't want a wrestling match, we want a track meet. Somehow, someway we need to speed these games up. We need to run every chance we get. As always, it's gonna need to start on the defensive end. Our defense needs to be dominant. That's where our pace will come from.

Are you and James planning on doing another podcast soon?

Cody Simmons "Ask C Webb... call that timeout." Damn.

The only warrior that played hungry that game was Jordan Bell. Kerr is stubborn when it comes to his rotations, but he seriously needs to give this guy a chance. I understand that Bell isn't as disciplined as Looney, he makes mistakes, but these mistakes are something he needs to make in-game in order to learn from.

AA I've been watching your videos from Mexico for a week, Just have to comment that your Harden rules and the Houston series vids are pure gold. Can't imagine better insights from anybody. I'm sure there are a ton of people that are watching that don't bother commenting that feel the same way. Seriously, you will go places with this. I tell my friends to tune in now to watch you as you gain recognition and progress. So tell us where did you play? I'm not saying that is a determinant of your skills but just curious.
