The Harden Rules

James Harden is no doubt one the most dominant scores of this generation. On the verge of collecting his first MVP, while trying to dethrone this Golden State Warriors dynasty. This is a defining moment in his career. A player of his caliber you will not be able to shut down. But he are the rules to guarding Harden in a Playoff series. Excellent breakdown Alchemy! Keep it coming

Coach Kerr needs to see this

Playoff Alch is the GOAT. I have a feeling that Houston is going to target switching on Steph for ISO situations and forcing him to play defense, particularly with Harden and CP3. So are you saying that the Warriors should do the same and try to get Harden in as many switches on KD & Steph as they can?

Great Video!

Same if Bell is out on the floor as well. Harden is going to eat his lunch at the foul line. Bell has to stay disciplined.

Keith Reynolds Jr.

Fire video man. The forcing Right breakdown was great. The Utah and TWolves defenders would literally turn their whole body giving him Lanes. I just couldn't understand it.

I have a feeling this might be Chris paul's series but we'll see. Awesome breakdown Alchemy!

Insightful video! I've been saying a similar thing. I think the Rockets are going to attack Curry to test his body and stamina. We need to do the same thing to Harden and wear him down. This battle of the bodies could be the key to the entire series. Chris Paul said Harden was sick at the end of the Utah series. Do you think he was gassed? Also, what really happened to Harden in the 2017 playoffs? Someone said he had a concussion which seems like a reasonable explanation.

Excellent breakdown as expected, Alch.

I think the proof of what you say about James realizing that he does not have an elite motor (or maybe more accurately an elite gas tank) is borne out by the fact that Houston subs James out, always for significant rest, regardless of what is occurring in any particular moment of a game (Houston is aware of his need for rest) and of course they can do this by allowing Paul to run the team for significant stretches. It makes what you've say even more true, you must attack James on both ends in an effort to drain him before the finish. I would also say, not only does James try to constantly hook the arm of the defender to draw the whistle, he also on any drive that looks to be unsuccessful, will at he first contact, "flop" his head back as if he's just been in a car accident that created a whiplash, that also is part of a whistle con job that he relies on.

We need Capella rules!

Klay hasn't fouled harden since February of 2016 so he can be good on him I would prefer Iggy or kd because length bothers his ability to get to the rim or make a easy pass.

if we assume both kerr and d'antoni are alchemy subscribers (patreons hopefully?), perhaps the warriors do exactly all this--and attack harden (just as they will attack our recovering steph). but what moves will d'antoni do--in anticipation of us attacking harden--to help harden out? could they use this approach against us? that's a chess question i'd love to know (and look for in game 1).

Nick Young vs the Rockets this year: 3 games, 63 minutes, 18-26, 11 3's....he'll have minutes ahead of Cook.

Naaw cook drives to the rim and make plays. Nick young sits at the 3 point line and plays zero defense for his size
