GS vs Cavs gm 45

Hey AA, I don’t know if you talked about this in past livestreams but I want to get your thoughts. Last night I was watching TNT postgame and both Chuck and Shaq said KD is the “front runner” for MVP. Steph Curry is in the race too. Now in my opinion, neither KD or Steph should be even considered as candidates in the MVP race. Both should be disqualified. GSW is just TOO stacked. Both have proven literally this year with both unfortunately having to miss games with injuries that they can win games when the other is injured. You can’t be MVP when you go down and the team still wins with their other MVP. When Curry is injured and KD plays: 9-2 record When KD is injured and Curry plays: Still undefeated I believe and beating key opponents such as Rockets, Timberwolves, Nuggets.. The MVP should be LBJ tbh. He IS the Cavs. If LBJ goes down the Cavs may be one of the worst teams. But if KD or Steph goes down they still have proven they can win. If there was MVD= Most Valuable Duo of course Curry/KD would win but it’s “player” Do you consider KD or Steph in the MVP race if at all?

I think KD could win it..But yeah if you go back to my "way to early NBA award predictions" I said it would be LBJ. Knowing that was the only real accolade he could collect this season, I think he understands that. And is looking at his legacy now.

Athletic Alchemy & Aerone, what's good? Aerone, I hear what you mean as far as it being easier to bestow MVP distinctions to players on Teams that revolve around a single player like LeBron & the rest of the Cavalier's team (minus when Kyrie was there, but that's a separate discussion). However, it's unfair to disqualify Steph or KD just because the level of the Warriors, as a team, is so much higher than the rest. It's understandable that this may distort the perception of Steph or KD being worthy because the Team continues to win without them. But even when they play together there's room to debate which of the 2 is MVP on the Team because they've both carried Team momentum on their backs. But by that criteria, so has Klay, so has Green, for different reasons.

What do you think the relationship between Lebron and Curry are? Like you implied, doesn't seem like there is too much love.

athleticalchemy

LeBron use to go watch him play at Davidson. There was a relationship. Even in Miami there was a " I see ya Boy" respect. But once he was being mentioned with in the same breath all that stopped. I mean think about it...he could view Steph as the guy that will keep him from GOAT status. Not because he is better! But What has been built around him stopped his run. I'm sure they will show love when its all said and done. Right now there are feelings.

Great breakdown as always Uncle! KD and Curry played very well but the turning point, like you said, was Livingston and D-West's defense, that second unit was on point. Sad that this might be the last year of both those guys with y'all. I also tweeted you when Iggy pussied out of an open layup, i thought that was really funny.

Great vid once again. This ain't no rivalry. Did you see when the cameras were on KD and Curry on the bench with about 6 min left in the game? They were laughing and joking around. GSW was messing around for 2 and a half quarters. They know they can turn it on whenever they want against the cavs and pull away. The Cavs don't have the personnel. They can't defend either Curry or KD one on one. And any help they provide will leave a wide open shooter. And not only that, with Love at center, they have absolutely no rim protection since Lebron is always on the perimeter. It's no surprise they have the 29th ranked defense in the NBA. The numbers don't lie. Here's something I thought was hilarious. Watch Curry giving Lebron an "atta boy" pat on the back after drilling a 3 in his face: https://twitter.com/clarkkent415/status/953376045339631616

My criteria is over .500 making teammates better and efficency. That's why I was harden over Russ.

AA I agree that Draymont showed restraint through this whole game even when the calls sucked.

Also I was worried that Steph wouldn't be ready to answer the bell for this game after the beating he took in Toronto especially late. But there he was starting and being effective and he did not throw himself in front of the LeBron freight train that you called him out on. At that moment he steps in front of LeB and can't stop the shot, gets called for a foul and ends up on the ground. I loved the way Steph played the 2nd half being involved, not trying to win the game on his own at the cost of his body. He deserves the right to play that way some of the time. Great game! Great call by U

I agree, situational awareness is one of the few things he can improve. The risk reward when your at his level isn't as easy as say McCaw or even Klay.

I am concerned they are playing Steph when his ankle still isn't right. Like you rightly pointed out, he has no speed, could not pull away from Crowder. Chef is the one player we cannot afford to lose come playoffs.

Steph dunks on LeBron....on that play Draymond gets the rebound and outlets long to KD, at the moment he does that Steph and LeBron are side by side still in the backcourt, Steph sprints across midcourt and all the way down the lane while LeBron jogs back without much effort. Yea, LeBron had one of those chase down bat it off the backboard blocks in this game too, he always does, but often, LeBron, Love, JR they are too fatigued, too lax, too slow, too uncommitted to D every play to sprint back with effort on every play and in most warrior cav games it undoes the cavs. The Cavs are too slow and poor in transition defense to play on an extended level with the Warriors.

Also I couldn't give a s%$# about MVP I just want rings and a page in history for the Warriors and the Bay so everyone needs be willing so sacrifice for the good......like ZaZa sitting on the bench for the game .....like a pro, taking a DNP coaches decision.....best play of the night.

I know I'm late but this game is a statement to Cleveland saying "cavs your the new clippers" lol...but what was so annoying about this game was Chris "oppose their will" Webber, I wish I could've counted how many times he said that lmao

athleticalchemy

I like CWeb because he is just as passionate as i am about the game..but I hate when he calls games. He is just too much, for me im trying to get in all my points with in like 12 min..he is going at my pace for 2.5 hours!

I agree he looks nothing like he did when he first came back from missing 11 games. He had the bounce in his step and everything ... that Steph would've torched Cavs for 35 and gave them another 30 point blowout for MLK Day. But he's scaring me a little.

Connor H

Was Pnice shooting this terribly before that blow to the head from boogie? Did a concussion really just ruin his game or did he start struggling before he went out?
