Quick piece on IG, I will probably do a deeper dive into his game here on patreon when I have a break in the schedule.

Is The Death Lineup Done?

Andre Iguodala is shooting career lows across the board and seems to be in pain everytime he steps on the floor. Let's take a look at why this is, can it be fixed, and what may happen. Love seeing you dissect Iguodala's game in this format. He's actually one of my favorite players, and i have his black warriors jersey. I think Iggy is far from done actually, seeing how he showed up at Game 7 of the last Finals. I also think he needs that time off, you can see his knees are starting to fall apart, but if I'm Lacob/Myers, it would take a lot for me to get rid of him, just based on how he saves himself for the big games in the playoffs.

He is very good at playing possum. I really would like to see him alter his 3 ball. He ain't gotta be Sam Perkins! But take some legs out of it.

Nicely done. I see a trade, really.. but hard to say what he'd get back... can you trade for an expiring?

athleticalchemy

Right it would be a dump...some where like Phili where they would be using him as a coach and mentor.

Love it, very cool piece you did, i hope iggy can change his shot, he has been such a big part of why the warriors have been successful. Thanks

Nothing happens until they see how he performs May/June, rest and treatment at all star hopefully on the menu

Honestly I would have to disagree with you here Alch, I believe that Dre is just deffering. He’s always been a great off the bench leader for us but that was post KD/Warriors Era. Now that KD is here and is averaging double what iggy was before the KD era. He knows he just has to do what he has to do. Not force it. Let the big boys do what they do and make timely plays. He is struggling with his shot 100%. However I always see him on the end of huge game changing or make or break it plays in almost every game. He just fits his role and is a smart veteran who understands exactly what he needs to contribute. I’m not sure about anyone else but stats this season have not done him justice for what he’s done on the floor this season. Just his presence on the floor adds more ball handling and more ball security. He adds some defensive depth on the floor and not to mention his +\- this season on the floor +7.6 vs off the floor -5.6. The man has a huge presence on the floor non to say the least and stats really don’t do ig the justice

I think the 3 air balls he shot in a recent game are evidence on AA's side and not yours. And some (most) of those airballs were wide open looks, too.

Interesting stuff. I'm not concerned about Iguodala at all. In fact, when he's on the court, I feel relaxed and confident. I understand his 3 isn't falling now, but his value is bc of so much more than that. The simplest I can say it is this - Iguodala makes winning plays, on offense and defense. He is a huge part of why GSW is the #1 defense in the league. Look at some of the stars we may meet in the postseason: Harden, Lebron, George, Kawhi, Butler, Hayward. Iguodala is a guy who can contain or shut down all of them. His shot will be there when we need it to be. He's actually shooting pretty well from the FT line. And regarding your last statement, Lacob certainly wants the dynasty to continue but don't expect it to be with the Big 4 we have now. I expect Curry/KD to be the centerpieces going forward, but either Klay or Draymond or both will not be on this team 3-4 years down the road. Lacob is no dummy, he's not gonna lock up 4 guys to huge long-term contracts who will all be entering their mid-30's. He understands that aging and injuries do make the best investments if you want to win rings. Kawakami wrote a piece on it recently, on how GSW will go after AD in 2020 or 2021. He was also the first one who wrote about GSW going after KD 2 years before it happened. Lacob/Myers have a long term plan in place and it doesn't involve staying with the status quo.

I'll be honest he has fooled me playing possum in the past. But usually at this point in the season he is starting to rev it up. I read the article, and I agree the Big 4 will be broken up, but I think Shaun and IG could go first.

As usual, Alchemy is painfully right. It is why I contribute to his Patreon every month, that and his hilarious digs. We Dub fans do not want to hear that Iggie's career is coming to an end. But, the stats speak for themselves. KD did Iggie a huge favor by taking less money so the Dubs could resign Iggie to a big contract this one last time. But, now, Iggie's knees are noticeably preventing him from keeping up with what is inarguably a super team and inarguably the best team in the NBA. The best Way for him to wind up his career is to be traded to a lesser team which he can more easily get up with.

wow Alchemy impressive as usual... you really did your homework, what pills he should take and everything. And you dialed in your presentation style for unmistakable clarity.. I get the feeling you made this vid for Ig rather than for your Patreons here. Is he listening? Whats up Andre!
