Great systematic analysis! Love the play by play commentary and insight! Best on the net.

Great analysis as always, actually had the same pov but on draymond and steph 2nd, when it comes to bad decisions making and body language and looking disinterested in the heat of a game.

Maybe still in the mood of celebrating

Interestingly the cavs struggle even more

Get that Looney had an uncharacteristically good game vs The Wizards. But Kerr deactivating bell for the second night in a row is puzzling to me.

Definitely did not deserve that one

I agree with your valid criticism of Steph, but I also think Draymond might be in his own head a little bit too much and has been arguably a bigger catalyst for the turnovers we've been seeing. The league has known since 2016 that he's "hunting for assists" as you mentioned in your previous video. And while I agree with that he needs to be slowing down and taking the shots he SHOULD be taking (and not step back 28 foot three pointers come on Dray), I think mentally he might be getting the best of himself. He's shooting 21.7% from 3 this season. He knows he's playing with 3 HOF shooters, and he's the forever the fourth option offense. But without that confidence, he's gunna be stuck in purgatory of not wanting to take shots, but also not having the confidence to execute.

Of course, I want to be proven wrong, and the season is still young, but Dray's vaue to this team is simply too important to be overlooked. They will improve, and hopefully it'll come with better rotations too. We're fully healthy aren't we?

This game was a microcosm of the same issue he had at OKC. Often relegated to the sidlelines to watch his PG dribble the air out of the ball even though KD is blazing. They almost never Feed KD when he gets going, he does it himself.

athleticalchemy

Well said.. Steph is more willing to adapt, I think KD needs to communicate it clearly and directly.

These vet teams are not ready, the youngster are hungry, and more importantly, right now believe they can win.

How much does the short preseason (long season) and all that have to do with this? Cavs are in a similar predicament.

athleticalchemy

A whole lot! Pacing themselves they don't necessarily want to come into camp in peak shape. More rested. Then you cut the camp and preseason in half and they are no where near where they would normally be. Or where these younger teams are that put in work all off season.. Which mind you started in April for some of them.

I hope each game that coach Kerr shows your analysis in the film room the next day. They need to hear some hard truths.
