Chris Paul Traded to the Rockets (Patreon)

I was very excited when this broke to get something out. I realize I didn't give you much of my own take!

So CP opted in to his final year at 24 mil in order for the trade.

But more so, so he can sign a super max 5 yr 205 mil deal next season. BUT mind you...he can now only get that deal from Houston. 

I think this is going to be a disaster, CP may make some schematic changes on the court. But his personality will not change, and I just dont see how he gets along with Harden and MD. As amazing as Harden is, he takes plays off and he does some an orthodox stuff that CP will not be able to stomach. Along with MD's focus solely on the offensive side. I expect him to be in trade rumors come February. 

I think Chris will find himself in the same predicament he was just in. With teammates he doesn't really care for and not good enough as a team to over look it. Will he sell out for the super max and finis his career in Houston? I think it will depend on the landscape of the rest of the league. The reality is CP's style just doesn't hold as much value in this new Hybrid era of basketball.
