Yes, there are THREE cuts to this movie: 93 minutes - theatrical R cut (available on DVD only), the 98 minute Unrated Cut (available on DVD and Blu-ray), and the 88 minute Director's Cut (only available on Blu-ray.) The director's cut is closer to the director's vision and his preferred cut. Apparently, the Unrated Cut was done by the studio and had zero director input. The differences between all three are online.

Another one that's along similar lines, but doesn't go as far, is Fred Claus. Just seeing Paul Giamatti as Santa is worth it.
