I like this one less and less every year. It's quickly becoming my least favorite Rocky movie.

working out to the rocky 4 soundtrack takes you to that next level

it's a 90 minute music video....i get the nostalgia for it, but I don't like it all that much....I mean 6 people went to Apollo's funeral? LOL

My favorite as well!

I don't hate 4 but it lacks the heart from the first 3 and Rocky balboa films.

I don't think there's a Rocky film I dislike. Sure, some are better than others but they're all good IMO As for Rocky 4 Director's cut... I'll always love the original for nostalgic reasons BUT I thought the Director's cut was the superior version! It felt like a more authentic Rocky movie rather than an MTV style 1980’s music video that focused on fast cuts and superficial action and cheese. More emphasis was put on the relationships between Rocky, Adrian and Apollo. There was a lot more drama which made me care more for the characters and story. But most of all, I appreciated the more serious tone of this film. Gone is that “thrill ride” vibe that the theatrical cut emanated. The odds against Rocky and the gravity of the whole situation felt more grave. I suggest you guys watch it most definitely!!

Great reaction! Growing up, I considered Rocky 4 my favorite of the film series, now it's closer to 4th or 5th favorite. While I will always adore Rocky 4 for its distinct style, Stallone is basically just playing Stallone in this film. As for the new Director's Cut, it a mixed bag for me. It thankfully removes that stupid robot, and it adds back in more scenes with Apollo and Adrienne. I think somewhere between the original thestrical version and the new Director's Cut, there's a superior version to be made. Stallone did say his biggest regret was killing off Apollo. He said he could have crippled Apollo and still had that emotional punch.
