"S-Mart" became "Value Mart" because ARMY OF DARKNESS was co-financed by another company. Mentioning things specific to that movie would have involved bringing them into the production of ASH VS. EVIL DEAD. So they have to be a little bit skittish about Ash's journey through time - at least at first.

The woman Ash asked to clean his trailer and later turned into a Deadite ( Vivian ) was played by New Zealand actress Sian Davis. She was a customer at the video store where I worked when she was filming this. She was also in the 2013 movie right at the beginning, performing an exorcism I think. She said that she thought it helped her get the role in that she speaks Welsh ( which is the language she uses in the ritual ).
