Michelle Forbes (Admiral Cain) is magnificent in this role. The character is a completely irredeemable b*tch, but man she knocks it out of the park acting. Just for reference, Galactica is about 45-50 years old. If you've ever noticed she's armored but most of her has this ribbed look. Well that's because when she was being decommissioned they started removing her outer armor layer. Those ribs would have been between the inner hull and outer armor coating. The places you see that are flat and smooth are the only places that still have their outer armor plating. Galactica has a lot of weapons, but her primaries are 24 double barrel heavy kinetic energy weapons (big honkin' space guns). Pegasus, meanwhile, is not that old at all, and is actually of the newest class of battlestar created before the attack on the colonies. She's larger, more advanced technologically, has her own dedicated viper production and repair facilities, and is armed with 30+ double barrel heavy kinetic energy weapons that are even larger than Galactica's. Annnnnd then there's her main batteries. Four double barrel forward facing fixed mount kinetic energy weapons that are absolutely enormous guns, so big they couldn't be mounted on turrets. Basically a WWII aircraft carrier with more than half of its armor gone with propeller planes and machine guns vs. a fully functional modern nuclear supercarrier and F-35 stealth multirole combat air superiority and strike mission fighters; asymmetric warfare to say the least.

Your reactions are great! Re: them trying to make everyone on Pegasus into absolutely the worst. You've got to remember, an organization, virtually any organization, will take on the persona of the person at the top. In this case, Admiral Cain. If the person at the top foments an atmosphere of distrust, cruelty, aggressiveness, the rest of the organization will follow along (or lose their jobs). The Pegasus' CAG said it to Apollo: "It's Admiral Cain's policy, so it's your policy now."
