No votes for 2001? Bloody disgrace. Moon? Terrific film, nearly got my vote. However, I think The Missus would most enjoy Children Of Men, and it's a top film. The defence rests.

To me, based on this list 2001 is the greatest sci-fi film (which I voted for). However, I think the whole list is all good to great films. I think Arrival should definitely be on the list and I think you'd both really enjoy it.

I'd say Robocop is more Action than Science-Fiction but it definitely is a classic. The Lawnmower Man, Strange Days and The Arrival (1996) are two underrated sci-fi films from the 90s I recommend.

I love The Abyss because it's one of my fondest in-theater experiences, including the director's cut. I wish more people were familiar with it. Regardless...one day, and it'll be worth the wait!
