Manhunter from 1986 is the first Hannibal film. Brian Cox plays Lecter. Red Dragon from 2002 a sort of remake of that.

The Mrs. is so movie smart, I did not pick up on all the reveals and twists when I first saw it. Then again, I saw it in my teens, so not much reference material. I like the discussion afterwards and the extra info and easter eggs.

Hannibal show is amazing, Mads kills it as Hannibal. Cinematography is second to none for a TV show, can't believe with what they got away with on NBC. Add it to the list!

Great film but seen it several times as well as multiple reactions to it. Manhunter is the first film to feature the character of Hannibal Lecter and it's quite good, directed by Michael Mann, who has made several great films, including The Last of the Mohicans, Heat, The Insider, and Collateral.

Please watch Hannibal the tv show! Dexter and Hannibal are the two best tv shows ever. I go back and forth on which I like more. Hannibal usually wins.

There is a movie prior to this with a different actor playing Hannibal. It’s called “Manhunter” please watch it!!! “Red dragon” is actually a remake of “Manhunter” which in my opinion is better than “Red Dragon.”

I was about to say. Red Dragon and Manhunter are essentially the same movie from what I understand. I haven't seen Manhunter in years so my memory is a little fuzzy
