Heida

Even though he loved making the movie, Cillian Murphy has said he doesn't think it's that good ("it's a good B-movie"). But I love it because it's so campy and ridiculously fun. Cillian and Rachel McAdams have an insane amount of chemistry too. But I do wish that Lisa had been the one to finally take him out. Some fun facts: The movie was written for Sean Penn and Robin Wright (who were married at the time) in mind. However, Wes Craven wanted younger leads. Cillian wanted the role of Jackson so badly that he took a plane from England to Hollywood two days before his wedding to have lunch with Wes Craven. Wes later gave him the part saying that his eyes won him over. Wes also got married in the middle of shooting. If you look closely in the plane bathroom scene you can see Cillian's hand holding the back of Rachel's head. This is because in an earlier take he accidentally knocked Rachel out and wanted to prevent it from happening again. That take was captured on film and is included in the gag reel on the DVD (you can also see it here at 3:04: https://youtu.be/S3c_Wb_0urw?si=CQVQiTIFjArOpuDp). Btw, Brittany Oaks who plays Rebecca (the little girl) and is absolutely hilarious is 30 years old now! When the woman spills an iced coffee on Lisa, the expression on Rachel McAdams's face is real as she did not know it would be so cold. It also wasn't supposed to spill on her to that extent, but it worked so they kept it. For the movie, fake airline tickets were printed up for passengers to carry and use. On the back was listed 12 terms and conditions for buying the ticket, just like on real airline tickets. However, the twelfth read: "All the provisions of this Passenger Ticket and Baggage Claim Check are completely bogus. It's all a bunch of excessive detail, and if you happen to be reading this you've got too much time on your hands. Bring a good book next time". Jayma Mays who plays Cynthia, Lisa's assistant, is most known for her role on Glee. She has also starred in movies such as Paul Blart: Mall Cop, The Smurfs and Epic Movie and shows such as The Millers, Heroes and Ugly Betty. This was her feature film debut. Before this she had only guest starred on one episode of Joey (the Friends spinoff). Brian Cox who plays Joe, Lisa's father, is well known for his roles in movies such as Bravehart, Troy, the Bourne franchise, The Ring, Zodiac, The Water Horse, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Autopsy of Jane Doe and the TV show Succession. The annoying male hotel customer in the beginning and end is portrayed by Robert Pine, actor and father to Chris Pine. Another movie similar to this (mainly because it's a thriller/mystery that mostly takes place on a plane) that I recommend is Flightplan starring Jodie Foster. It was released the same year too.
