About the Manga

• Plot
  • Sakurai is a failed mangaka who quit the industry to get married and work at an onigiri shop, when one day he gets a call from MomiyaXX, an editor for jump. Momiyaxx asks him to make a non fiction manga chronicling the process through which shonen jump is made. Sakurai tries to resist but Momiyaxx ignores his complaints and tells him to come to shueisha.

  • Sakurai does this and nerds the fuck out while momiyaxx tells him about his job. He is to conduct interviews and then produce short chapters based on the information. Sakurai struggles against Jump’s harsh deadlines but like we’re reading the manga so I guess he got them done on time nice job. First we learn that pages are scanned into a computer where the words of each chapter are manually typed in. Then they’re printed on thousands of rolls of paper using resin plates before getting sliced and bound together.

  • Then we learn about how the paper is made and now I just feel like I’m writing a fucking essay for a school project. They explain that jump has three colors (btw jump has three colors) because it’s made from recycled paper and they can’t get the ink off all the way so they just dye a bunch of them so you don’t notice. I think. I still have questions about that.

• I feel the MC complaining gets kinda overdone
• TBH 3 chapters deep I haven’t actually learned much
• I think starting with printing first is a little odd it’s not what I came hear to read. It is interesting, however
