    - A long-running collection of titles all about the Uramiya Honpo, or revenge shop, where people who have suffered horrifically can pay massive sums for revenge to be achieved against those that have wronged them. As such this depicts the absolute fucking worst of humanity, drowning you in a cynical misery before the good guys get massively cathartic, violent, and humiliating revenge on their targets. I cannot recommend reading more than a little of this, it really fucks you up inside relentlessly being shown fucked up shit. Has drama adaptations, and has sold over 60 million copies across the whole franchise. This series consists of:

Its final volume was given a reboot title, presumably to help sales, but its long, slow, death finally came regardless.
  - Kami Appli - God Tools (2012-2020, 20 vols, Young Champion)
    - A student received a smartphone with a bunch of illegal apps on it that can spy on places, control traffic systems and such. He gets a huge usage bill at the same time as he is framed for murder, and has to chase the real criminal for the reward money to pay his phone bill. I dunno, I’ve not read it. Had a prequel in Young Champion Retsu for 3 vols called Kami Appli - The Love Game.
  - Sanctions Academy (2020-present, 5+ vols, Grand Jump Mucha & Grand Jump Mecha)
    - What if teachers were arseholes to a criminal extent, and could only be stopped by another, more evil teacher? That’s this.
  - Shukusei no Gedokushi (2021-present, 5+ vols, Weekly Young Jump)
    - Ryusei has the ability to heal and to hurt with a mystical control over his own blood. He uses this to save lives and perform untraceable murders in the name of justice.

Manga Itself / Misc thoughts

You simply do not get more canceled than killin all of humanity,
Kurihara has a blog, maintained sporadically over many, MANY years, where he promotes his work, as well as the work of his assistants, a level of professional courtesy RARELY seen in the industry. Hence all the citations for once.
He has been able to work for both Shueisha and Akita Shoten at the same time without issue, a rare feat when publishers can be so possessive.
Big fan of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and it has openly influenced his work on Uramiya Honpo, and you can kind of see it in Nano Hazard, too.
All his manga have constant soapboxing about the stuff and people in society he hates today. Kids, rude people, reckless drivers, office politics, just whatever’s grinding his gears. See if you can spot what stuff he’s decided he hates while writing Nano Hazard!
