Author:

  • Mitsunaga, Yasunori 光永 康則(みつなが やすのり)
  • Mee-tsɯ-nah-gah, Yah-sɯ-no-ree
  • Apparently also goes by the pen name “Tsunagami,” which is an anagram of their family name (Mistsunaga)

Characters:

  • Rokuraha, Satoru 六波羅 覚(ろくはら さとる)Rokɯ-hah-rah, Sah-toe-rɯ
See the ref notes about u/ɯ
This could be a coincidence, but his personal name, Satoru, is written as “覚,” which shares the same kanji spelling with “satori,” a legendary creature that can read minds. Could be a thematic reference to his psychic(?) power

    • Princess Resurrection (2005-2013, 20 vols, 87 chapters, Shonen Sirius)

Lots of tits and some gore, made better than most of the author's works simply because Inomaru is on art duties, and can draw decent women. (Japanese volumes and preview here: https://bookwalker.jp/series/146782/list/ ) (fully fan-translated)

  • Is there a pattern in this author’s work? Why yes, they love monsters and sexual assault, seems like!

Manga Itself

  • SIX WORD SUMMARY: A false detective with false promise
  • I’m sure you’re all too smart to need this pointed out, but this is a ‘dark twist’ on the boy detective genre popularised by Detective Conan/Case Closed, right down to Satori looking a bit like Conan himself.
  • Ginnan looks like such a Yoshiyuki Nishi character that I’m amazed I can’t find anything about him helping out on this series. Even the monsters look a bit like something you could see in Muhyo & Roji. Possible inspiration?
  • It rips off Death Note, too, so clearly the author loves mid-00s Weekly Shonen Jump horror titles.
