Hey all - it's finally here! After over four and a half years of development, Carnal Coup v1.0.0 is now available for patrons! I don't quite want to make this sound like a big finale post, as the project isn't quite finished yet, but this still seems like a good time for a bit of reflection. I started this project for a lot of reasons - such as wanting the chance to try out a project in Unity, wanting to have the chance to do some coding that wasn't related to my day job for once, or wanting to create a game that was flexible enough to appeal to a broader playerbase than most go for. This project did take a fair bit longer than I would have expected (writing scenes, especially 'flexible' ones, takes a bit longer than I would have estimated), and perhaps cost a bit more as well. But I can't say that's exactly a surprise either, as running over time and budget is a common enough story in development. The important thing is that all of the content I originally wanted to produce has now been done, and is now in the game for you all to enjoy!

And of course, I want to thank everyone who's helped get the project this far! I don't have an accurate count for the number of people who have played the game, due to the variety of platforms it's been posted on and the statistics they do (or don't) track. But, I can say that over the past 4+ years the project has had 500 different patrons, over 50k plays on itch.io, and at least that many on Newgrounds. The fact the game not only doesn't have 50k negative reviews, but has generally received positive feedback, has been very encouraging these past few years. It's entirely possible I would have continued making this game even if I was the only one playing it, but I'm very thankful that I'm not.

As for what to expect in July and onwards, I'll save that for the real State of the Game post on the 1st, tomorrow night. I do want to particularly note again though that July is the last month the Patreon will be running under the current system with regards to tiers and content and whatnot. In regards to this month however, here's what we've got! First off, the final two scenes are now in the game, with the epilogues for Octo and Hellfire. The game's final CG has also been added, with an additional Random Encounter orgy for you all to enjoy. In addition to the final content I also spent some time on some Quality of Life improvements. Several new buttons have been added, including a new 'Dark Mode' button below the game's main text which should hopefully help with readability. I also spent a fair bit of time reorganizing the game's Gallery - it's been something of a mess for a while now, with me simply adding scenes as they came and never having time in the schedule to clean it up. Scenes have now been grouped according to scene type, and buttons have been added which should make it easier to find the variants matching your preferred Overseer.

I also fixed a number of typos and such this month, but as I still occasionally manage to find such mistakes in content I wrote nearly four years ago, I'm sure there's plenty more where those came from. v1.0.0 is not a promise of perfection, sadly, but only of the completion of content. That is why I'm planning to spend the entire next month entirely on editing, bugtesting, and QoL improvements, to hopefully get the game in as polished a state as possible before I close development on it for good. But again, that's something I'll go into more detail on tomorrow night. So! With all that said, patch notes below, and game links to follow!
