Hey all, it's a new month! As usual, the latest free release (v0.52.1) is now up on the blog downloads page! We've also got a fair bit to talk about for this month.

Unfortunately, it's not all good news. While the day job rarely sends me on work trips, I've gotten one for this month that's going to send me out of town for a week, and I have to assume I'm not going to get much if any game work done during that time. Normally this would just mean a delay of whatever content I was working on, and a somewhat light release for one cycle. However, given that my aim is to have v1.0 out at the end of the month, delaying content is something I'd rather avoid. Instead what I'll be doing is canceling the usual mid-month release, in hopes that skipping a build/release cycle will free up enough time to keep me mostly on track. It's something I'd really rather not do as I've gone through the whole project up to this point without missing a release, and it feels a little absurd to break that streak right near the finish line. In this case though, it's because we're so close to the finish line that this is the best option. I will aim to make some sort of mid-month status post though so that I'm not radio silent for a full month.

That aside, what will I be working on this month? We have two scenes left to cross off the list - epilogues for Octo and Hellfire. We also have a single CG left in the art queue, another Citizen Encounter scene. And that's it! That's all the content there is. Once the content is in I'll be focusing on bugtesting, QoL improvements, and cleanup for the rest of the month - I have a few small items on my to-do list, and I'd like to give the Gallery page a much-needed overhaul so that it's more organized. My goal is so that at the end of the month there should be no outstanding content, and no bugs that interfere with play. As I mentioned in last month's post, July will then be entirely focused on editing, fixing, and cleaning up, and that release will be going solely to Patrons unless something major pops up during testing.

With that in mind, this would be a very good month to get in bug reports! While I generally keep a short list of things needing fixing, if there's a typo or a bug in the game now, there's a very good chance I haven't noticed it. If you have anything to report, feel free to drop a comment here or in the #bug_reports channel on the Discord. Every report is very much appreciated!

I think that's all for now, so in review:

May Accomplishments:

  • 7 text scenes added, each with multiple variants.
  • 5 CG sets added, from artists Suki, Vin4ART and TDK!
  • Several other bugfixes and cleanup items.

June Forecast:

  • 2 Specialist Epilogues
  • 1 Citizen Encounter CG
  • Cleanup including a Gallery re-organization

I hope you're all excited for the coming arrival of v1.0!
