Evening all, time for our second release of the month!

This release has a nice spread of content: Octo's first romance scene, finishing out round 1 of the romances, two new CG sets, and the first set of 'bonus' encounters in missions. I didn't have time to assign NPC portraits to the challenges, but I'll be getting to that soon, and I'll probably be adding to them for a while in between other tasks.

I haven't talked about them much, so just to lay out the purpose of these encounters, they have two main goals: 

  • First, to give missions a bit of surprise and variety, without requiring a ton of writing time (these encounters are quite short).
  • Second, to give an option for filling in reward gaps not filled by the full encounters already written. As I go forward I'll be checking to see if there's some species that's a bit harder to recruit, for example, and adding in more chances with bonus encounters.

I'm currently planning for the next free release to be up on Monday, as well as the usual monthly update post. However, I will say now that I've changed my plans a bit, and intend to start diving directly into Specialist Romances as my primary task starting next week. The polls have helped pick out the first few, but I'll tell you more in a few days!

Game Functions:

  • Added support for CGs in Specialist scenes.

Mission Content:

  • 8 'Bonus' Encounters have been added to randomized Missions, 2 to each location. Each randomized (ie, non-Specialist Loyalty) Mission will have 1 random bonus encounter added per run. 

Scene Content:

  • Specialist Octo Romance Scene 1 added.

Art Content:

  • Hellfire 'Something New' CG, Male Hellfire/Male Overseer variants added to scene and gallery (3 variants).
  • Double D Romance Scene 1 CG added to scene and gallery (6 variants).

Codex Entries:

  • None

Bug Fixes:

  • Several typos fixed in Specialist and Director scenes.

Known Issues:

  • TTS dialogue cannot be interrupted once begun. May have issues if triggered on multiple screens at once. TTS support is 64-bit Windows only.
  • WebGL Issues: Be warned that save game data in WebGL mode is less permanent than PC standalone. May also be more prone to memory and other issues.
