July in Review (Patreon)

Hey all, time for the monthly State of the Game! First up, as usual, the latest free release can be found at the usual place, featuring a chunk of missions and artwork for you.

Second, to get it out of the way, our schedule for this month is pretty much more of the same - we'll be finishing up the last pair of Specialist loyalty missions (Octo and Princess), and following it up with another Specialist romance scene (Sorority). Art-wise, we have three department scenes left on the list, split up among our three artists, so we should have a few ready for you this month. As for the HD Art Pack update, patrons should be able to expect that this weekend.

After loyalty missions are complete, I've mentioned that there's a number of other mission-related tasks, both in content and functionality (such as actual maps to 'explore'). I've pretty much decided that next month I'll start working on the randomized content side of it, both because it fits the groove I'm currently in, and because it means there'll be something there to do after a player's finished all the available one-time loyalty missions. Mission content will be divided up based on the kind of environment it takes place in, such as Figura forests or Watch Station, and this month's development poll will probably be about deciding which direction to go in there first. This sort of content along with Specialist scenes will prrrretty much take up the rest of the calendar year, so that gives you an idea of what to expect, though I'll talk about it more next month I'm sure.

Speaking of polls, it's time to review the results of the Threesomes poll! I did have to disqualify about a third of the votes for only picking a single candidate, but from the remaining pool we have:

So, it certainly seems Grunt and Double D were both popular partners, including with each other. These scenes are still a ways off, so I can't say yet which will be chosen - there's a few factors, including the polls, getting in a mixture of gender pairings, and my own thoughts on who would make a good pairing, but these votes will definitely be helpful in narrowing it down. There'll probably be another round of voting down the road to get more feedback, and when that happens Grunt and DD will probably be taken out to give the others some breathing room.
