When we started Lingthusiasm we knew that we needed a plan to make it sustainable if it was going to last. Launching a Patreon appealled to us because it would not only mean that we could keep the show ad-free, but we could also build a community of people who were also enthusiastic about linguistics. 

Having said that, launching the Patreon over the weekend was a scary thing for us to do. We've both been blogging for 5+ years, and have never  so boldly asked for support. We've been blown away by you response. 

You are our founding patrons. Thanks to you we area already well on our way to covering basic production costs - SoundCloud, domain hosting and getting the episodes transcribed are now covered for all future episodes. We hope that other lingthusiasts join us, but there will always be a special place in our hearts for your enthusiasm.
