Ji An staged the slap for the investigator, but it came from a place of truth as well. She's so much better at scheming than Do since she's been fighting for her life and her grandmother's life ever since she was a kid. Do is only scheming for money and he's an amateur. The actor playing Do is quite brilliant. He captures that character just in the way he dresses, the way he moves, and the way he talks to his subordinates. He looks like a manikin from an upscale clothing store and he moves like he's got a stick up his butt. His office looks like nobody works there. I feel a little sorry for him because he's incredibly alone, but he's created that life himself.
