Room 404 is a reference to the internet error code 404, file not found. Koreans have very definite ideas about right, wrong, and what justice looks like. Yuna killing the welfare girl would be called manslaughter in the West and not murder, but Yuna's real crime was not acknowledging what she did and apologizing. There's no coming back from that in Korea. There's a lot of backstory because you can't understand Man Wol or the story without it. Like most people she is the past that still is still alive inside her. Man Wol is a lot like Dreamcatcher in the Nightmare Story, not alive, not dead, just here as punishment for evil deeds. I've watched this series many times and I still see something new with every viewing. There isn't a single frame in the entire thing that isn't there for a reason. It's a giant puzzle which makes it so much fun to watch again and again.
