Hi there friends!

This is our first roundup for the year of 2022! How’s the year going for you guys so far? It seems like we’ve had a bunch of great solo releases to start off the year with. Some of my personal favorites have been Yena’s Smiley, Moonbyul’s Lunatic and (of course) Wheein's Make Me Happy :)

This probably going to be a shorter update than usual— though I’m not sure because I’m just writing as I go lol

I’ve been considering watching other things like movies or kdramas here so I wanted to get your opinion in that. Would you be interested in that type of content or would you rather stick to Kpop/idol stuff? And if you’re interested, what shows or movies are you interested in?

Videos for the rest of the month:

  • 01/31 - Paris et ITZY 4-2 will be up

On future content:

  • I’d like to start a kdrama with you guys! Give me suggestions here!
  • As we’ve finished Scientist behind the scenes, we’re starting Jeongyeon’s camping series in place :)
  • We will watch Queendom 2 whenever that comes out. I still don't trust MNET.

As always, a huge thanks to you all for the support here on Patreon. It’s been a huge help and I enjoy our little community here and on discord!

I hope you're ready for February!~

Mr Jackpots

I love Kdrama. My favorites are, in this order, My Mister (starring IU), It's OK Not To Be OK, Hotel del Luna (also starring IU). All three of these are on Netflix.

What kind of shows do you like to watch? If you like fantasy stuff, then "Goblin" (I highly recommend lol) or "Hotel Del Luna". If you like fun and female-lead dramas, "Work Later, Drink Now" is my recent fav and "Hello, My Twenties", If you want something to hit you in the feels, "Reply 1988" or "Reply 1997" ( I still haven't seen the1994 series) are both amazing. If you want some underlying murder mystery fun and incredible female leads "Mine" is amazing lol.

I’m down for kdrama content My Mister is also one of my favorites. Itaewon Class or MINE ( Has our girl Kim Seo Hyung ) all these are on Netflix. If you want some different idol content I think Running Girls (2021) is a great show if you haven’t seen it. It has Sunmi, Chungha, Chuu( Loona), Hani, and Yooa( Oh My Girl) and it’s basically 4 episodes and they start a running club super healing. I have the episodes downloaded if you want them. Excited for the Jeongyeon MonoTube 💚

My favorite Kdramas on netflix -My Mister (heartwarming) -Stranger (thriller) -Kingdom (period + zombie)

My current favorite kdrama right now is "The King's Affection" on netflix. It is about a young girl having to take her twin brother's place as the Crown Prince and I just love the way they portrayed this. There is some romance, but I more like it for her story having to hide her identity while trying to undermine her grandfather's ruthless grabs for power. The character's are so well written and there's a sweetness to it as well. ^_^

not a big kdrama person but maybe something new? the new zombie korean series on netflix perhaps (all of us are dead)? something that a lot of us will be seeing together for the first time would be fun 😁

I definitely recommend My Mister on Netflix, it has IU in it. The plot is really good & it is overall just a really deep, dark, emotional, but still heartwarming? in a way? It is my favorite kdrama of all time & i've seen a LOT. It is definitely IU's best drama too, its what really established her as a true actress. But overall, the storyline, lessons one learns, the emotional levels it goes to and exposes is really impactful & powerful

I would absolutely love for you to react to kdramas! Would also like to see what types of kdramas you like just so we can give you some better recommendations if you want? 😁

Hotel Del Luna!!!! ... i'm not so good with kdramas but that's the one of the very few I've watched so far 😅 besides... IU is in it so...

Justin_AndaKage

I have not seen Hotel Del Luna yet, so if you start watching that, I’ll definitely check it out. I also recommend My Name and Hellbound. Both are insane shows. Also, The Silent Sea was fascinating. Queendom 2 is a must the first Queendom I’ve seen and completed like 3 times and seen the stages a bunch of times. I went in already a MooMoo/Neverland. But ended up starting my journey as a Miracle for Oh My Girl. I also would like to hear and anyone reading this who they would like to see on Queendom 2- me I choose Loona; not only do I think they would rip it up, but they would bring in the international fans. Something Mnet is always looking for. Suppose you are interested in watching something outside of any Korean content. A show I started late last year and binged the first two seasons in a week was “SEE” starring Jason Mamoa. Fucking good show. It is an apple+ show, but I’m sure you can find it online. It instantly became one of my favorite shows ever. They finished filming season 3. Thank you for everything you do. Looking forward to what’s next. ❤️

Please Come Back, Mister with Rain is pretty good. Hotel del Luna and Goblin Kdrama

Shancii

i recommend Uncanny Counter.

yukistan

It's a more action-packed (crime) drama, but I absolutely loved My Name. Dreamcatcher also had a parody of a drama called The World Of Dreamcatcher, if you just want a good laugh.

As for Kdramas, there are sooooo many great ones out there; and a lot of them star a lot of kpop idols that you love! As for my personal votes, as mentioned in comments above, Hotel Del Luna and My Mister are very popular on Patreon right now and would be great for you to start with (and they are both on Netflix right now so you won’t have to search for them); and I also saw Goblin mentioned a couple of times which is also excellent! But like I said, there are so many great ones out there that it’s hard to choose! GOOD LUCK; and can’t wait to see what you choose!
