Aw, Akari. "Is this another Twice song?" 'Candypop'. Super fun/cute Japanese release. One of the contestants in 1-1 danced to it too. The video shows Twice as anime characters for a lot of it, which is cute, but not enough real live Twice. Maybe sometime you could do an MV + Live stage reaction here? The other less subtle ("TWICE!") song in this one is 'BDZ'. It's a fan chant/hype song. I mean, all the title tracks have cheering guides, but this one was written for cheering at concerts. Originally a Japanese release (and there's a Japanese MV) but they released a Korean version 2 months later on 'Yes or Yes', so there are live stages for that too. "..only allowed to audition with company songs?" Seems like. And there's that other song we've heard in both episodes which, I assume, is a Sony Japan release. Only using JYP/Sony songs would be a shortcut around any copyright or clearance issues. I can't remember, but I feel like in part 2 they must use some other stuff, western songs, etc. They do go by so fast. I would not be upset if you combined episodes? If you wanted? I appreciate your diligence in steering clear of NiziU releases while you watch the shows, but that means it'll be a few months or more until you can watch 'Poppin Shakin', and that seems a little too cruel.

@toad hehehe I’ll get caught up with all their Japanese tracks at some point soon hopefully! I was thinking about how slow it’ll be too, with the current pace of the Nizi Project! I’m thinking of doing a double upload every other week or something like that. Probably starting from #3 onwards so I can get ahead.

The episode seems short because it is short. They were not originally broadcast in two parts but as single roughly 50 minute episodes. I don't know why all the episodes were cut into two parts when they got onto YT, probably something JYP wanted. When the episodes first started appearing on YT it was utter chaos. Different people uploaded different cuts and the quality of the subtitles varied wildly. It was the copyright strike two step. A channel called Let's Kculture started putting up full episodes starting with season 1 episode 8 and they're still up. Their subs are better than JYPs but none of them translate everything. Sixteen is really simple in comparison.
