In the fleeting moment when Schiller's umbrella handle touched Pamela's forehead, the rain outside abruptly ceased. The thunderbolt's radiance illuminated the anger in Schiller's eyes as it reflected on his face.

The curved raindrops' surfaces blurred the refracted light, creating ripples. Countless tiny raindrops, like themselves, ascended towards the sky amid the undulating waves. Vines and plants retreated as Catwoman had just unlocked the door lock of the leather truck and settled into the driver's seat.

The passenger door swung open, and Schiller stepped out of the car. He strode into Gotham University, and at this moment, there were no strict security measures in place. The students and teachers in this corner of Gotham seemed oblivious to the terrifying events unfolding outside.

His leather shoes echoed crisply on the staircase, and when some old office doors were pushed open, they creaked.

Anna and Victor turned their heads to look at the somewhat bedraggled Schiller. Before they could say anything, Schiller frowned and asked, "Did you two not leave Gotham University today?... I mean, get out of Gotham University."

"It's already chaos out there, and we need to be prepared."

"What's going on again?" Anna stood up, ran her hand through her hair, and furrowed her brow, saying, "Whatever can make you wear such an expression, it must be something catastrophic, right?"

"Oh, come on, a catastrophe wouldn't make him wear this expression," Victor scoffed. "If there were a tsunami, he'd be calling me from the cryogenic laboratory, asking me to provide him with an emergency freeze bomb to freeze the entire Pacific Ocean."

Anna seemed to catch something, and she walked to the window, pulled back the curtains, and saw chaos erupting beyond the campus walls. She turned back with a serious expression and was about to speak when a loud bang interrupted her.

"Professor! Something's wrong! There's trouble over at the vocational education institute, they're fighting..."

The three of them immediately paused. Victor was the first to step forward, asking, "What did you say? A fight at the vocational education institute? How could that happen?"

Schiller quickly put on his raincoat's hood, grabbed his umbrella, and said to the student, "Lead us there."

"But..." The student hesitated and said, "Professors, maybe you should take some guns. It's quite chaotic there, and... some people have already started shooting. I'm afraid for your safety..."

Before he could finish, Anna pulled out a large gun from under the desk, causing the student to swallow his words. She then turned and ran, telling them, "Come with me! It might be too late, and lives could be at risk!"

The three of them rushed down the staircase, making their way to the vocational education institute's teaching building. They heard the sound of gunfire from inside, and Victor had a bad feeling. While running, he asked, "Schiller, is this the 'mess' you mentioned? How dare these troublemakers engage in a shootout on the school campus?"

As he spoke, he pulled a Freeze Gun from inside his trench coat, his face darkening. "Don't let me find out who started this. I'll give them and their family a thorough chill..."

"Haven't you noticed yet? This isn't a campus firefight."

The three of them arrived in front of the vocational education institute's back door and looked inside. The students had divided into two groups, each holding guns and facing off.

Victor angrily burst in, shouting, "What are you doing?! This is not the time for classes or fighting here!"

"Professor, you've finally arrived!" a tall male student ran over, pointing at the opposite group. He spoke with righteous indignation, "They shot Rol and even wanted to kill him! We all know we can't use guns on campus, but we have to protect Rol!"

"Don't you see it? That guy named Rol has gone mad!" a black female student from the opposite group shouted back. "He scratched my sister with his nails. We, the Fanny sisters, are not to be messed with!"

"You shouldn't have shot him in the leg either. He's the fastest guy in college, aspiring to be a professional sprinter. You've ruined his career!"

The two sides started arguing again, but fortunately, the professors stood in the middle, preventing anyone from firing. Anna raised her gun, pointing it at the sky. With a loud bang, everyone fell silent.

Schiller raised his voice, saying, "Everyone, quiet down and put your guns away. Where are Rol and Fanny now?"

"Rol is in the lounge on the first floor, and Fanny is in the classroom next door to him. They're both injured, and someone is tending to their wounds..."

The three professors walked into the teaching building, and as soon as they entered, they heard a scream. A female student with a bleeding arm rushed out of a classroom. The younger sister of one of the Fanny sisters asked, "Tracey, what happened to you? Where's my sister?"

Schiller squinted and saw that the girl who had just rushed out was Miss Goth, who had been attending classes here previously. She had a deep wound on her arm and was bleeding profusely. She seemed traumatized, as if she had been frightened out of her wits.

After a moment of stunned silence, she began to sob and intermittently said, "She's gone mad! Fanny has gone mad, she wanted to kill me!"

"It's impossible! How could my sister..." The black female student rushed into the classroom. Schiller held her back, but she struggled, trying to break free. However, the next moment, she saw a dark figure pouncing toward her.

"Bang!"

Schiller raised his umbrella and knocked the dark figure away. Victor aimed his Freeze Gun and, with a whoosh, sent an ice shard into the figure's abdomen, freezing her in place.

The black female student hurriedly approached, but at this point, she also realized that something was amiss. She exclaimed, "What happened to my sister... why are her eyes turning gray? The Fanny family has never had gray eyes!"

"And, my sister is a very gentle person, she loves taking care of others. Why would she attack me?!"

Anna looked at Miss Goth, who was crying beside her, and asked, "What exactly happened? Why did she attack you, and why did she go berserk?"

"I don't know." Miss Goth sobbed continuously, and in her fragmented description, the others finally understood what had happened.

Ever since Miss Goth entered the vocational education school, she had struggled to fit in. Especially after the death of Mrs. Goth, she became deeply saddened and fell ill for a while. During that time, it was Fanny, one of the Fanny sisters, who had been taking care of her.

She became an orphan with nowhere to go, and her marriage prospects were naturally dashed. Miss Goth didn't dare to live alone in the empty, eerie mansion, so she resigned herself to staying at the vocational education institute.

Although Miss Goth was pampered, vain, and somewhat arrogant, she was still young and adaptable. After a period of collective living, she had somewhat adjusted to the rhythm here and even made a few friends, including Fanny, who had been looking after her.

"Fanny... Fanny and Rol are a couple. Today, before she left, she said she was going to meet her boyfriend. But not long after, she came back crying, with a big gash on her arm..."

"I had never seen so much blood before, so I cried out of fear. It just so happened that her sister heard me. She took a gun and went to find Rol, shot that bastard, but Rol's brothers thought she had gone mad, and a fight broke out..."

"My shooting skills aren't great, and I've never been in a shootout, so I stayed here to look after Fanny. I used the first aid kit I had to disinfect her wound, but her injury was so severe, I couldn't clean it properly..."

"Just as I was about to bandage her, she suddenly screamed, and I thought I had hurt her, so I gentled my touch. But the next moment, she attacked me..."

Miss Goth continued to cry, extending her arm to show a long wound. She said, "I don't know, her nails were unexpectedly sharp..."

"Gotham City is witnessing a series of people going crazy. It seems that Gotham University's students are also encountering such incidents." Schiller turned to the tall male student who had spoken first and asked, "Has Rol been away from school recently?"

The tall student scratched his head and said, "Correct, Rol is a member of the Gotham University track and field team. He has exceptional performance and even represented Gotham in a joint inter-school competition in Metropolis. I heard his performance was good. He just returned to school yesterday..."

"He's probably been infected," Schiller said in a low voice. But just then, he heard a low, painful wail from the neighboring lounge, followed by the sound of a handgun firing.

Schiller quickly walked to the door, pushed it open, and saw a figure sprawled in the center of the classroom. It was a nimble young man still wearing his track and field uniform.

At this moment, he had been shot in the abdomen and was screaming in agony. He kept shouting, "Get out! Get out of my body! Go..."

Victor acted without hesitation, freezing him with a shot from his Freeze Gun. Time froze within the ice, and his struggles and pain ceased. However, at this moment, Miss Goth, who had been wounded, started screaming again.

The corridor was once again in chaos. As Anna stepped out with her gun, she looked at Schiller and said, "I'll handle things here. You and Victor go set up defenses. I believe you'll make the intruders pay for what they've done, right?"

Schiller twisted his wrist, revealing a cold smile, then took his umbrella and walked out of the teaching building. Turning his head to Victor, he said, "Get everyone together, give them Freeze Guns, and find any targets going crazy. Freeze them..."

"What's going on exactly?" Victor walked behind him, a bit puzzled. "Why are they going berserk?"

Then he showed a somewhat sorrowful expression and said, "I know Rol. Just a couple of days ago, the track and field coach was boasting to me about how he had discovered a highly talented sprinter. He might even win at the state championships..."

"But now..." Victor shook his head and said, "With gunshot wounds to the leg and abdomen, it's good if he can survive. Sprinting demands peak physical condition, and this kind of injury marks the end of his professional career..."

Schiller held his umbrella and didn't say anything, listening to the cries outside the campus walls. He said, "I don't care if someone is trying to invade Gotham with some kind of conspiracy and destroy it. I won't make any extra effort to defend Gotham because I know this place doesn't need protection. Those who reach for it will soon understand what they're doing. I don't know how foolish they must be to try to use a madness virus to attack madness itself."

"But they should not have invaded Gotham University, especially not injured that student named Rol. They will pay the price for this."

"Why especially Rol?" Victor looked at Schiller's expression and could sense that Schiller was brimming with unreleased rage. In a detached tone, Schiller replied, "Because Ivy League is a sports league."
