Immortal Path Space : Table of Content/Chapter List

XXX-----XXX-----XXX-----XXX

After the Golden Core cultivator of the Robbery Dao had departed, the group of ten people resumed their journey, but the atmosphere was no longer as cheerful as before.

They walked with their heads hanging low, looking dejected like dogs that had lost their home. Ten people silently trudged forward, and the only sound was the rustling of leaves under their feet.

Their Spiritual Weapons had been stolen, leaving them unable to fly with their tools. Now, they had to measure the distance in the East Zhou Cultivation Realm by walking on the ground.

Wang Hong walked quietly with the group, but his heart was in turmoil, far from calm.

For him, the loss of material possessions was inconsequential. Although his Storage Bag contained many valuables, he had placed all his important items in his personal Space. Whenever he took something from his Storage Bag, it was just for show.

The Golden Core cultivator who had attacked them had probably just passed by and decided to rob them on a whim. He hadn't thoroughly investigated Wang Hong and the others. Otherwise, he wouldn't have left Wang Hong's main Spiritual Weapon in the Storage Bag, raising suspicions.

Also, he had left Wang Hong's Spirit Beast pouch on his waist, probably considering it worthless. A Foundation Building cultivator's Spirit Beast wouldn't be of much value to him. Once a Spirit Beast had recognized a master, it couldn't be re-recognized, so the robber couldn't make much use of it unless he killed it for meat.

Feeling powerless, depending on the mercy of others for life and death, was a terrible feeling.

In the Cultivation World, higher-tier cultivators often robbed lower-tier ones. After all, where did the wealth of high-tier cultivators come from if not from such actions? Wang Hong had worked hard to earn Spirit Stones and resources, but in the end, robbing was quicker.

However, it was typically lower-level cultivators robbing those just a few minor realms lower than them. Robbing a Foundation Building cultivator like this, with a difference of an entire major realm, was akin to adults snatching candy from a child and was generally frowned upon.

Wang Hong had been fortunate not to encounter bandit cultivators until now, but unexpectedly, he had run into them for the first time on this trip.

After walking for several dozen miles, the group split up and went their separate ways, with no more pleasantries exchanged.

Only two fellow disciples from Qingxu Sect remained on the same path as Wang Hong.

At this point, Wang Hong released Little Peng from his Spirit Beast pouch.

"Senior brothers, the journey back to Qingxu Sect is still far. How about I give you both a ride?" Little Peng now had a wingspan of fifteen feet and a broad back, so carrying three people was not a problem.

"That would be wonderful, Senior Brother Wang. Thank you!" Hearing Wang Hong's offer, the two disciples expressed their gratitude.

The distance from here to Qingxu Sect would take over ten days even if they could fly with their tools as usual. Walking on foot, they had no idea how long it would take. When they heard Wang Hong's invitation, they were naturally grateful.

The three of them sat on Little Peng's back, and although Little Peng was initially reluctant, Wang Hong promised some rewards, and Little Peng reluctantly agreed.

Before leaving, Wang Hong took off one of his boots and retrieved two Talismans from inside. He spoke a few words to the Talismans and activated them, causing them to fly away.

His boots were also of Magical Weapon quality and could conceal some fluctuations in Spiritual Energy. Although they weren't very far from Boundary City, better-tier Message Transmission Talismans could still work.

The two Talismans he sent were for Wen Lan and Ling Shuai, asking them to inquire about the recent departures of Golden Core cultivators from the city. After all, Boundary City only had about a dozen Golden Core cultivators in total, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find out.

Ling Shuai had some personal matters to attend to and wouldn't be heading to Azure Void City with Ling Xue for another month.

Little Peng's flying speed was slightly faster than using a common low-tier Spiritual Weapon for flight.

After more than ten days, the three of them and the bird finally returned to Qingxu Sect.

After bidding farewell to the two fellow disciples, Wang Hong made his way to his cave mansion on Kaiyang Peak.

As soon as he opened the cave mansion's protective formation, Chen Nian hurriedly arrived to pay his respects.

"Greetings, Senior Uncle Wang. Welcome back to the sect!"Wang Hong briefly surveyed his cave mansion, which encompassed more than forty acres of spirit fields. Out of these, all forty acres were filled with Spirit Grain mutated by his Spatial abilities.

The Spirit Grain fields were lush, already standing at about one zhang (3.3 feet) tall and beginning to form grain heads.

The remaining several acres of spirit fields were mostly dedicated to cultivating various spirit fruits and Spiritual Herbs, with a focus on spirit fruits.

"Not bad, you've done a great job over the years," Wang Hong nodded in satisfaction. He was quite pleased with the current state of his cave mansion, well-managed by Chen Nian.

When Wang Hong had left, he had pre-paid Chen Nian for about three years' worth of compensation. Relying on the Condensing Qi Pills provided by Wang Hong, Chen Nian had progressed to the Ninth Layer of Qi Cultivation.

With his hands behind his back, Wang Hong strolled through the cave mansion, while Chen Nian followed carefully, fearing Wang Hong might find something to reprimand him for.

"You can go rest for now; I'll find you later," Wang Hong said, feeling content with how Chen Nian had managed things. He had no intention of nitpicking.

It had been a few years since he returned home, and even if he saw some weeds in his cave mansion, he found it pleasant and comforting.

Unaware of Chen Nian's anxieties, Wang Hong leisurely walked through a field of Three Yang Melon Seeds. The golden flowers of the Three Yang Melon Seeds were facing the sun.

Next to the Three Yang Melon Seeds field was a spirit fruit orchard. After wandering through the melon seeds field, he entered the spirit fruit orchard with a cheerful mood.

The twenty Spirit Jujube Trees he had planted earlier had not been harvested for years. They were now laden with Spirit Jujubes the size of chicken eggs, all a vibrant red.

He lightly jumped up and sat on a tree branch, picking a ripe, red Spirit Jujube that dangled overhead.

"Crunch! Crunch!"

He began to eat it right there, and he couldn't help but think that even a low-tier spirit fruit tasted better in his own home than anywhere else.

After having some fun, Wang Hong returned to the main hall and summoned Chen Nian.

"Senior Uncle, here are one thousand catties of Three Yang Melon Seeds. They matured two years ago, and I've harvested them all here. Seeing the land lying idle afterward, I took the liberty of replanting them. Please forgive me, Senior Uncle."

Chen Nian took out several large sacks and placed them in the hall, each filled with Three Yang Melon Seeds.

Three Yang Melon Seeds mature every three years and, when roasted, make for excellent spiritual food. Like Spirit Tea, many cultivators used them to entertain guests.

"Well done, you handled this matter excellently. Over the years, you've taken good care of the cave mansion, and I'm very satisfied. Here, I have five hundred Condensing Qi Pills to compensate you for the past two years. The surplus can be considered as a reward."

Wang Hong retrieved several pill bottles, held them up with Spiritual Power, and presented them to Chen Nian.

He had promised to provide Chen Nian with ten Condensing Qi Pills every month as compensation. Since he had owed Chen Nian for approximately two years, he naturally had to give a little extra as a Foundation Building cultivator repaying his sect's junior.

"Thank you, Senior Uncle Wang!" Chen Nian accepted the pills, overjoyed. Finally, he could rest easy, as there were not only no reprimands but also rewards.

With these pills, he should be able to reach the peak of Qi Cultivation soon.

"Alright, you may go now," Wang Hong dismissed him.
