"Firstly, it's the Brotherhood of Mutants who prefer to reveal their identities before committing any crime. Their goal is to protest against ordinary people and the authorities of society, advocating for the rights of mutants."

"But over the years, they have never targeted S.H.I.E.L.D. because they know that S.H.I.E.L.D. is not like your typical government institution. We have the Avengers."

"Furthermore, their protests against us are futile. We don't make policies, and we can hardly change the living conditions of mutants. Provoking us is simply not worth it."

"If it were Magneto himself, he would likely take all the equipment with him instead of blowing them up. Magneto has the power to do so; he could even open a portal and let all the devices fly in. It's not difficult for him."

"Mutants have never had it easy. They wouldn't leave behind so many advanced and dangerous weapons unused; instead, they would blow them up. This is not cost-effective and could trigger a strong backlash from us."

"But if it's not the Brotherhood of Mutants, why would they intentionally leave traces of mutants behind?"

Nick turned his head and glanced at Natasha, saying, "I'm not blaming you, Natasha. In your career as an agent, there have been few times as messy as this. But clearly, the other side is playing a dangerous game."

"You're a super soldier, but your expertise lies in strength and combat. Yet, in that critical situation, you were able to spot traces of mutants. This suggests that it was most likely the other side making you see them..."

"We've encountered this tactic many times before—deliberately disguising events as mysterious and then revealing a hint of their involvement to shift the blame onto others."

Schiller stepped forward and said, "So, you're saying someone wants to frame mutants? Who would do such a thing?"

"Who else could it be?" Nick's face darkened as he looked at the now-defunct devices, with the words "heart bleeding" written all over his expression. He continued, "Who hates mutants the most? Who wants mutants to have more enemies? Who hopes that the Avengers will go after mutants?"

"You mean those anti-mutant extremists?" Captain America chimed in, saying, "Their actions are unjust, and racial extermination is extremely evil!"

"In the council and military, there have always been people like them," Iron Man said with a somewhat disgusted tone. "They've turned anti-mutant sentiment into a business, willing to do anything for it. It's truly revolting."

Spider-Man crouched nearby, speaking with a somber tone, "These are the precious achievements of human scientific civilization, and they are being destroyed like this. If we could continue researching, we might have developed some powerful technologies, but now..."

"They must pay the price!" Nick said with a stern expression. "Mutants are the ones we should unite with. They are a part of humanity and could provide significant assistance on our journey to the stars."

At this point, Nick glanced at Schiller and continued, "We can't let those fools hold us back. Avengers, get ready; we're going to settle this with them!"

However, at that moment, Schiller's mobile phone suddenly rang. He answered the call and said, "Hello?... Yes, it's me... What? Both of our laboratories in Boston were attacked?? Alright, I understand. I'll be there immediately!"

Schiller hung up the phone, his face turning grim, and said to Nick, "This is bad, Director. The two medical research project laboratories I'm in charge of were attacked. Ward from the field team called me and said the research team suffered heavy casualties."

"Get on the plane!" Nick's expression grew even darker. He waved his hand, leading everyone back onto the plane to head for Boston.

Boston was located in the northeast of New York, but it was a considerable distance from where the Avengers were in the southern part of Pennsylvania. After a while of flying, they landed in Boston.

Upon arriving at the troubled laboratory, which was still located underground in the outskirts, Ward came to greet them. He still carried the lingering scent of blood and maintained his usual stoic expression. He said, "I'm deeply sorry, Director; I arrived too late."

"What happened?" Nick's brows furrowed deeply. Ward led them further inside, and not far from the entrance, they found several corpses lying in front of the office.

Their manner of death was extremely peculiar; their bodies seemed to have been suddenly contorted, with not a single bone left intact. The room was splattered with blood.

Ward led everyone to the far end of the laboratory, where a trembling researcher was crouched. After Ward entered, he said, "Andrew, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Director is here. Tell him what you saw."

Andrew, still shaken, stood up, and Nick approached him, patting his shoulder reassuringly. "Don't be afraid. Avengers' superheroes will ensure justice for you. Tell us, who did this?"

"Two young blond individuals, two... two Demons," Andrew stuttered as he recounted, "We were conducting medical experiments when they suddenly burst in."

"It seems they had control over the security personnel at the entrance; they fired at us. They also appeared to be able to manipulate the air, or perhaps kinetic energy, and they could trigger explosions. After rushing in, they took all the experimental medicines and left."

"I heard a commotion and immediately took shelter in a safe room, so they didn't notice me. I witnessed firsthand that when they clasped their hands together, it caused a massive explosion, in the adjacent laboratory. You can go take a look..."

Following Andrew's pointing direction, Nick walked over and discovered the opposite laboratory had been completely destroyed. Aside from equipment fragments scattered on the floor, the walls and floors were charred, mirroring the previous warehouse's condition.

"I saw that they both looked like twins, very similar in appearance, and it seemed like both of them had special abilities. The boy seemed to control people's minds, and the girl could shoot air cannons with her hands. When they merged, they could trigger explosions. They are like devils..."

At this moment, Captain America seemed to recall something, muttering a name, "Baron Strucker..."

"What did you say, Steve?" Nick, turning his head, looked at Captain America with confusion.

"Baron Strucker and his children," Captain America repeated. "Strucker, a white supremacist, a Nazi sympathizer, and an extreme militant believer. He subjected his twin children to genetic enhancements, granting them mutant-like abilities."

"In my days fighting Hydra, he was a formidable adversary. I thought I had killed him, but... how could the Phineas Twins be here?"

"They're from Hydra??" Nick squinted his eyes, then turned to Schiller, who also wore a puzzled expression.

He raised an eyebrow at Nick, indicating they should speak privately. After Nick followed him to a secluded spot, Schiller lowered his voice and said, "He's from Germany's central command, a true fanatic. Hydra is just a tool for him to achieve his sinister ideals. He probably has a grander scheme..."

Before he could finish, Nick's phone rang again. After answering it, he said, "What did you say? Avengers' base under attack?? Are they out of their minds? Get back to New York immediately!"

They hurriedly flew back to New York, where they found Matt amidst the chaos at the Avengers' base. Matt wasn't injured, and he explained, "I arrived a bit late. They took some things from here, but thankfully, there were no casualties."

"What did they take?" Nick asked.

"The defense plans for the Avengers in New York," Matt replied, glancing at a nearby file cabinet. "It's not something very important, just a few cameras. Before they left, I heard them say a slogan that you're all familiar with—'Hail Hydra.'"

Captain America slammed his hand on the table, exclaiming, "It's definitely them! The lingering Hydra!"

Nick walked over and patted his shoulder, sending a subtle signal where Schiller couldn't see. Captain America sighed and said, "Someone must have leaked our information to them, maybe those anti-mutant extremists..."

"I think you might be jumping to conclusions," Iron Man interjected. "Perhaps it's multiple different forces, but we need to make them pay..."

"I'll lead the effort against Hydra," Captain America immediately offered. Then he looked at Nick and added, "You and Tony should handle those within our ranks who might be slowing us down..."

At that moment, Coulson picked up the phone again, saying, "Hello? What did you say? Our bases in 22 states have been attacked? Requesting backup? Alright, I understand. I'll inform the Director..."

"Director, the important bases in New Mexico were attacked. They might be trying to steal a Helicarrier. The base's defenses were strong, so they delayed the attackers. They're requesting immediate support. We need to go!"

"Captain America, you and Coulson go. Tony, we'll..."

Coulson glanced at his phone once more and said, "No, Director. Our strongholds in Toronto were also attacked, and they've sent a distress call. Those are two underwater warehouses..."

"Alright, Tony, you go to Toronto. Nick, we'll deal with the situation in New York and nearby with Spider-Man and Schiller."

The team quickly devised their tactical plan and split up. Schiller and Nick returned to S.H.I.E.L.D. However, Spider-Man mentioned, "It's been a while since I've been home. My uncle and aunt might be worried. I might need to..."

"Go ahead, Peter," Nick nodded. "Don't let your family worry. We'll wait for you here, and once you've taken care of everything, we'll arrange the combat plan for New York nearby."

Schiller also added, "Don't worry, Peter. But before you go back, it's best to give your uncle and aunt a call to prevent them from being too shocked if they suddenly see you 'resurrected'."

Spider-Man nodded and left the base. As he rushed towards Midtown, he suddenly heard a voice coming from a nearby rooftop.

"Oh my! Spider-Man! It's Spider-Man! But wasn't he dead?... Hurry, set up the camera! This could be the debut of the second generation Spider-Man!"

Spider-Man turned his head, momentarily blinded by the camera's light. When he refocused, he noticed a film crew standing on the adjacent rooftop. A cameraman was filming him intently, capturing footage of Spider-Man.

However, at that moment, there was a sudden commotion on the street below. A black-colored monster leaped out from the intersection, its sharp teeth gleaming in the sunlight. It let out a menacing roar:

"Heads!! I want to eat everyone's heads!!!!"

"Quick, aim the camera over there! Spider-Man will surely go deal with that monster! We're the Daily Bugle, and we have to secure the headline for the second-generation Spider-Man!"
