In the late night at the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, the usual hustle and bustle had subsided. The office lights flickered sporadically in the quiet of the night. Most of the employees had already left for their rest, and those who remained were in the process of packing up.

Walking through the silent corridors and peering through the transparent office partitions, in the administrative office area of the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, many staff members were organizing the documents in their hands, placing them in folders, intending to deal with unfinished tasks the next day.

"Hey, Lorde, it's a rare night without overtime. How about going out for some fun?" A black man in a shirt leaned against the door and said to another man in field attire. A blonde woman next to them rolled her eyes and said, "Do you have to say that while I'm here? It makes me look like a third wheel!... You guys chat, I need to make a quick trip to the upper floor."

"What's up, Monica? Aren't you off duty?" The black man adjusted his tie and asked. Monica shrugged and replied, "The logistics team is never as idle as you guys. We're quite busy. Didn't you know Director Fury is leaving for a meeting tonight? We have to arrange transportation and security personnel to escort him. I need to coordinate with the security department..."

Lorde, the white man, casually flicked the corner of his documents and said, "Director Fury is heading to another meeting? He's been going to the United Nations quite frequently lately, and I have no idea where he's getting all these tasks..."

"If it's about the United Nations, do I need to make a special trip to the security department? Matters related to the United Nations are handled by that cunning little fox, Madelyne," Monica responded.

"Then where is he going? Is there anything important happening lately?" Lorde inquired.

Monica shook her head and said, "Who knows? I'm not from the security department. I'm just responsible for providing vehicles, vehicle security, and security personnel. The security department handles the rest."

With that, she picked up her materials and hurriedly left.

Lorde exchanged a glance with the black man standing at the door, and after the black man left, Lorde quickly tucked the documents into his folder and left the office.

Seeing the two of them leaving, the remaining employees in the adjacent offices exchanged glances and followed suit, one after the other.

As the lights gradually brightened, in the break room for field agents, Grant Ward pushed open the door and addressed the resting agents, "We need three more people for the security detail; the security department is pressing us."

"No, we don't want interns this time. This meeting is crucial. We need two seasoned agents. Pike, you and Nimitz, and one more, Anto. The three of you will come with me. There are instructions to be given..."

After the three agents left, they returned shortly. While they were changing into their gear, others in the room exchanged eye contact and someone asked, "Hey, what's the rush? Do we really need all three of you to go? You guys are the most experienced agents in our group..."

"Director Fury is going to a meeting again, and it's rumored to be important. Moreover, it's with the military. You know how the military folks can be, always making a fuss. If we send someone not seasoned enough, they might get overwhelmed," Anto, the oldest among them, replied.

"We haven't dealt with the military for a long time. What's going on this time? Are they asking us for help again? Oh, God! I can't stand those generals. Wasn't the last incident enough?" another agent exclaimed.

While they were chatting, Ward entered the room again and said, "We also need two administrative staff members to accompany us for documentation. Natasha has gone to find them. Later, you guys will meet them downstairs. Let's not have a repeat of last time, where our own people didn't recognize each other."

Pike, standing by the door, gestured with an "OK" sign, and after the three agents left, the remaining agents in the break room also departed.

After notifying a few more departments, Ward and Natasha, in a matter of moments, saw all the remaining agents in the S.H.I.E.L.D. base leave their original offices, as if a movie had suddenly been fast-forwarded.

At the elevator, an unusual situation occurred – people were actually waiting for it. Everyone crowded near the door, and when Coulson saw this scene, he thought he might be hallucinating.

Coulson made his way through the crowd, parting it like a hot knife through butter. Everyone was staring at him, no one spoke, but it felt like there were countless things they wanted to say.

Squeezing into the elevator, Coulson finally noticed the unusual gazes directed at him. He looked left and right, sensing that the atmosphere inside the elevator was somewhat eerie.

Coulson felt a bit short of breath. He had never felt like this before. He wished the elevator would reach his destination faster than ever.

Finally exiting the elevator, Coulson breathed a sigh of relief. He turned back and closed the elevator doors again. Through the gap, he saw the air inside the enclosed space constantly shifting, or perhaps, exchanging eye contact.

This wasn't the first time he had felt it. In his line of work, within the enigmatic organization that stood above the world, there were many secrets he didn't know, and recently, these secrets had been growing.

Coulson sighed and headed towards Nick Fury's office. Nick was busy adjusting his tie in front of a mirror. When he saw Coulson, he smiled and said, "You're not off duty yet?"

"Boss, I heard you're going to a meeting with the military. Those people are surely not easy to handle. Do you want me to accompany you?" Coulson asked.

Nick shook his head and said, "No need, Natasha is coming with me."

"Well, I know it's not very professional, but... I still want to ask, is there anything major going on? Even if they need to deal with mutants and S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't involved, they shouldn't have any trouble, right?" Coulson stammered for a while before asking.

Nick approached Coulson and put his arm around Coulson's shoulder, looking at him. "You're right. As long as S.H.I.E.L.D. stands firm and resolutely refuses to participate, no matter if it's the military or Congress, they won't be able to force us into this extermination plan against mutants!"

Coulson couldn't help but feel that Nick's tone was a bit strange. As he watched Nick walk away, Coulson scratched his head.

Unbeknownst to him, in his current position inside the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s office, he was like the sun submerged in the river of information. Countless streams of light emanated from him, signals transformed into flowing light, and bytes became bonds, gradually covering the entirety of New York.

Numerous lights lit up, and everyone who received the intercepted signals expressed suppressed astonishment: "Dealing with mutants?!"

"A plan for the extermination of mutants?"

"...S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't intend to participate???!"

"Nick Fury's upcoming meeting may be about how to deal with mutants..."

"This one-eyed guy seems to be planning to stubbornly resist S.H.I.E.L.D.'s participation and face the pressure from the military and Congress alone. Is he crazy, or is there some other hidden agenda?!"

"Nick Fury isn't foolish; he knows that the United Nations is currently relying on him, and the Avengers are also essential. He has plenty of good cards up his sleeve, but he wants to go it alone..."

"Dealing with mutants is indeed a good pretext, easily stirring up conflicts between departments. As long as they create opposition, many things will become easier..."

"Prepare yourselves and notify our partners; get ready to step in!"

"Quickly develop a plan; this is definitely a golden opportunity!"

"Inform all the teams to prepare. The target: Nick Fury and the specific details of his meeting! Specific to every word..."

"I won't allow any of our people to miss a single word. Everyone, assemble; the battle against mutants is about to begin!"

"At any cost, obtain the contents of the meeting!"

The waves of the river of information never changed with the rising and setting of the sun. When the waves crashed onto the shore, the entire world heard a name: the "Red Mornlan Plan."

"...Listen, today's meeting is related to the formulation of a top-secret plan. Absolutely no one is allowed to divulge the fact that you are accompanying today's event," Natasha said, holding her arms in a dimly lit meeting room, addressing all the employees in the room. "The top-secret plan must not be leaked. Once information gets out, you know the consequences..."

"There's no need for me to emphasize the importance of confidentiality," Ward said to the field agents in the adjacent office. "You've all been here for a long time, and you should all have a basic understanding of the need for secrecy. In today's meeting concerning the top-secret plan, no one is allowed to disclose a single word. Understand?"

"The Red Mornlan Plan? Is it aimed at the extermination of mutants?" In an office at the Arkham Sanatorium, Schiller held a special telephone and spoke to the other end. "Do you know the specific contents of the plan?"

"Their first step in the plan is to utilize space transportation facilities to launch a special device, the 'Mother Module,' into space, creating a floating base near the Sun and Mercury. They plan to equip it with a powerful AI to develop and upgrade Sentinel Robots to be prepared to exterminate mutants at any time."

Schiller leaned his arm on the table and rested his forehead on his hand. "Leaving aside the execution difficulty of this plan, who is going to carry it out?"

"Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. has expressed strong opposition? His words were very intense? Is that so? Nick Fury is that angry? My goodness, he's so righteous! Did you even see his expression? Is he really that furious?"

"Is that so? Did he really say that? Of course, I'm not questioning your technical capabilities. I know your listening devices have gone through several generations of iterations. You said he was in the car and still berating the military? It seems he's genuinely angry."

"Alright, I understand... Hail Hydra!"

After hanging up the telephone, Schiller frowned, thought for a moment, and then picked up the telephone again. He had Grey Mist alter his voice, and then he said, "Charles Xavier, I am the leader of Hydra, 'Doctor.' Now, I have something to remind you..."

"Schiller, what are you up to? What's this about Hydra and a leader? What happened to your voice? And why did you change your telephone number? Isn't the previous one still valid?" Charles's puzzled voice came through the telephone.

"Shut up and listen," Schiller's voice was extremely cold, and he said, "I don't know who this Schiller you're talking about is. The one communicating with you now is the chosen leader of Hydra, the Pope of Yggdrasil in the earthly realm, the most influential Hydra head worldwide, 'Doctor.'"

"What I want to tell you is that various *** parties are preparing a top-secret plan. Remember, this plan is highly classified, and Hydra is the first organization willing to reveal it to you..."

"The so-called Red Mornlan Plan is, in fact..."

Ten minutes later, Charles hung up the telephone, his face filled with seriousness. Instantly, all the X-Men heard Charles's voice in their minds:

"Everyone, assemble at the school immediately! Something big is happening..."
