A brand-new military conference was convened in the military command center within New Iron Fortress City.
Optimus Prime and his comrades were gathered, watching a Satellite feed capturing the ongoing war between the Decepticons and Humans in the province of New Canada.
"This time, the Decepticon commander invading Earth appears to be Lightning... Satellite has already detected a total of 97 Decepticons, with the majority being Vehicons!" an officer reported.
In the central area of the military command center, a spherical projection device displayed the frontline situation captured by the Satellite.
Since the conflict between the Decepticons and the U.S. Military had erupted, nearly a day had passed since the Decepticons descended upon the town of Seville. The Autobots had missed out on a lot, and the current Satellite footage showed Seville enduring a relentless onslaught of missiles and artillery fire.
"Why would the Decepticons suddenly engage Humans in such a remote area? If I recall correctly, that region belongs to the Arctic Circle, one of Earth's harshest environments with very few human inhabitants," Sentinel Prime inquired. He was present in the military command center, the former Autobot Leader who had relinquished his position and had no official duties within New Iron Fortress City. However, his former authority as the Leader and Superior General still commanded respect from all Autobots.
Optimus Prime, looking at his former mentor, who had become increasingly unfamiliar, calmly replied, "Gold Beetle was originally located in the North America region. Upon receiving the information, I ordered an investigation. According to the intelligence he gathered, Humans had discovered a certain type of special metal ore there."
Ironhide touched the scar on his head that had not fully healed yet. "What kind of special metal ore could there be on Earth? And why would the Decepticons be interested? Is it uranium?"
Not long ago, a group of Decepticons had appeared suddenly within the borders of Africa, coming dangerously close to New Iron Fortress City, less than a hundred miles away. It was evident that they had found a vulnerability in the Autobot's perimeter defenses. Ironhide personally led a team of Autobot warriors to eliminate the seven invading Decepticon Vehicons. During the interrogation, one of the Decepticon Vehicons suddenly launched an attack against him. Due to a momentary lapse, Ironhide was left with a wound on his head. Fortunately, it wasn't severe, and he had not sought treatment from Ratchet. Over the past few days, he had relied on his mechanical body's self-repair capabilities, and the wound was almost completely healed.
"Uranium ore wouldn't hold much appeal for the Decepticons!" Jack replied impatiently. He had also been invited to participate in the military conference. Jack was not only a renowned scholar and a prominent scientist within the Autobot ranks but also a warrior. However, he despised war and anything related to it. He preferred to stay in his research laboratory, inventing and creating new things.
Recently, he had come up with an interesting idea. While the Autobots were mining in Africa, they had inadvertently discovered some relatively intact fossils of ancient Earth creatures.
These fossils were sent to Jack for examination because they were unusually massive. After studying these ancient biological fossils known as "Dinosaurs" by Earthlings for some time, Jack suddenly came up with a bold idea.
He wanted to emulate Earth's Dinosaurs, combining Cybertronian technology with data he had acquired from his previous research on another dangerous life form on Cybertron Planet—the Predacons. The goal was to cultivate powerful Earth-native warriors.
Clearly, Jack's idea would likely face opposition and hostility from many conservative Autobots once it was exposed. However, scientists could be a stubborn bunch. Recently, he had poured all his energy into a research project temporarily named "MachineDinosaurs."
This was the reason why Jack, who had been called out of his lab, was now displaying such annoyance.
Of course, Jack was aware of the reason for his summons. In New Iron Fortress City on Earth, there weren't many professional researchers and technicians. So, whenever there was a technical issue, it usually fell on him to help resolve it and provide solutions.
Seeing many Autobots with limited knowledge turning to him, Jack had to explain in more detail.
"While uranium ore can be used for power generation and to manufacture nuclear weapons, the Decepticons currently control the Moon, which has a more superior energy source—Helium-3. As for nuclear weapons, while they are indeed excellent weapons created by humans, they pose a much smaller threat to us Cybertronians than they do to humans themselves."
"The Decepticons have energy weapons, electromagnetic pulse weapons, temperature difference weapons... They find it easier to manufacture these weapons than nuclear ones. I don't believe the Decepticons would target uranium ore on Earth."
The meeting room fell into silence, and it took a while for Optimus Prime to restart the discussion.
The topic of discussion among the Autobots shifted from why the Decepticons attacked the U.S. Military to whether they should intervene and strike against the Decepticons.
Unfortunately, it seemed that the two Autobot Leaders had differing opinions once again.
Optimus Prime was firmly in favor of intervention. He no longer trusted the various human nations on Earth, but he also deeply remembered that he and the Autobots were outsiders. Therefore, he was unwilling to stand by and let the Decepticons' atrocities lead to the deaths of numerous humans.
However, the former Leader who had always displayed a strong hostility towards the Decepticons, Sentinel Prime, voiced an opposing view this time.
"Optimus Prime, I believe we do not need to intervene in this conflict between the Decepticons and humans for the time being."
Sensing that all the Autobots in the meeting room had their eyes on him, Sentinel Prime continued calmly, "It's not that I've changed my stance on the Decepticons. Quite the opposite, I have never forgotten their actions against our home planet—Cybertron—and the sins committed by our fellow Autobots."
"However, as despicable as the Decepticons are, the humans are not without fault. I learned that not long before I woke up, some Autobot warriors among us had their corpses taken by a human nation called the United States after they fell in battle. These humans even attempted sinister experiments, dissecting them in the hopes of uncovering our secrets and manufacturing weapons that could harm us."
"So, Optimus Prime, set aside your sympathy for humans. They are not reliable, and they harbor deep animosity towards us."
