When the first explosion sounded in the night, Colonel Numar, who was pondering strategies in his bedroom, suddenly froze. "An explosion? How can there be an explosion... Has Yuri finally taken action..." He quickly leaped out of bed and hurried towards the window. Numar's residence was located in the southwest corner of La Paz, just a few kilometers away from the city center. Previously, due to some suspicious activities being noticed by the authorities, he was trapped in this ghost city, unable to escape, under the pretext of a sudden transfer while he was on his way to the Ministry of Defense. Obviously, the authorities had not gathered much intelligence about his involvement in the coup, or perhaps they were still unsure if he was the mastermind behind it.

Perhaps for these reasons, although his military power had been revoked and he was temporarily confined to his residence, and even denied the use of a phone, Numar's safety could still be ensured for the time being. However, after two days of losing all contact with the outside world, Colonel Numar couldn't be sure if Yuri had already learned about his confinement. He had thought about escaping through the window on the second floor at night, but quickly gave up on the idea. The authorities had obviously begun investigating his case. Not only were all the servants in his house replaced with police officers arranged by the authorities, but he was even followed even when he went to the bathroom. As the appointed time drew nearer and his time of confinement increased day by day, he became increasingly worried that the authorities would soon discover him, transfer him to prison, and await a trial by a military court.

These two days passed in a state of anxiety, to the point that when the sound of an explosion came from outside the window, Colonel Numar felt a sudden tightness in his nerves that had been on edge for two days, followed by an expression of disbelief on his face. Through the window, which was already equipped with anti-theft mesh, he could vaguely see the distant explosion and flames. Then, one after another... Explosions continued to ring out, and the city, which had entered its dreams with the arrival of midnight, woke up due to the flames and explosions. Then came the air raid sirens, car alarms, neighbors' curses, and the barking of stray dogs... The city suddenly became lively.

"Bang!" The bedroom door was immediately pushed open, and two police officers arranged by the authorities walked in. When they saw Numar near the window in the bedroom, one of them asked with an unfriendly expression, "Colonel, what are you doing?" Seemingly certain that Yuri and the others had initiated the coup in advance, Colonel Numar's expression, compared to the gloom and silence of the previous two days, finally showed a glimmer of spirit. When questioned by one of the police officers, he merely smiled faintly and pointed outside the window, saying, "...Did a natural gas pipeline explode out there? I was sound asleep just now and was awakened by the sound of an explosion, so I came to take a look!" After speaking, without waiting for them to continue questioning, Colonel Numar cooperatively returned to the bedside and lay down. The two police officers exchanged glances, whispered a few words to each other, and one of them picked up the walkie-talkie and walked outside, while the other brought in a stool, indicating that they would stay in the bedroom and seemed to have no intention of leaving.

Colonel Numar felt somewhat annoyed but didn't say much. After divorcing his first wife over a decade ago and remarrying, his second wife was a well-endowed Argentine model, but unfortunately, she died in a car accident just a few years after their marriage due to an unexpected accident. At his age, he had grown indifferent to many things, let alone his love for power surpassed that for women. Over the years, Numar had been focusing on his career, and even his relationship with his two children was not very good, but he was closer to his ex-wife. Therefore, besides himself, Colonel Numar's residence had only a few servants who usually took care of his daily life. As he lay on the bed pretending to be half asleep, Colonel Numar's thoughts were filled with the occasional sound of explosions coming from outside the window. And with the chaotic noise that arose in the entire city after it was awakened.

"Is the coup initiated by Yuri?" "I wonder if they will send someone to rescue me..." "That explosion just now was very close. Was it near the police headquarters..." "That stupid woman Susie's pampered dog is too noisy. I really want to shoot it..."

Colonel Numar couldn't bear it anymore while waiting for rescue. What he didn't know was that a battalion of mercenaries led by Yuri had finally arrived in the nearby area.

"Damn it, there was a car accident up ahead, and the intersection is blocked. Get off the vehicle, everyone, right now!" After receiving the message from the vanguard unit several dozen meters ahead, Yuri impatiently grabbed the communicator and shouted on the channel. Although La Paz was the capital of Bolivia, the road conditions were very poor. Except for a few main roads in the city center, which were dual carriageways, most of the roads gave a feeling of a third-tier county town in rural China. It was hard to imagine that more than three-quarters of the roads in a country's capital were narrow single-lane roads, and Bolivians didn't have much traffic awareness. Three-wheeled motorcycles and bicycles were parked everywhere along the roadside.

When Yuri and his group entered the city, perhaps because they were wearing the Bo Jun military uniforms prepared in advance by Colonel Numar, they were not stopped by the occasional police officers they encountered along the way. Many even approached them and asked if they had received orders to suppress the rebellion at the Presidential Palace. They smoothly entered the city, without firing a single shot along the way. However, soon they encountered their first problem due to the terrible traffic in La Paz. A private car and a Ratchet had collided at the intersection ahead, blocking their planned marching route. The armored vehicles and trucks couldn't fly over the obstacle. With less than a kilometer left to reach Numar's location, Yuri made a tough decision. He personally ordered the second and third platoons to continue marching towards the next target after rescuing Numar, while he led a portion of his team to rescue Chief Numar, lest he be proven wrong.

It took the mercenaries about four to five minutes to get off the vehicles. Yuri put on a tactical helmet and tested the earpiece, making sure it was working, before continuing, "First Platoon, follow me. We're less than a kilometer away from the target. We don't know the situation with the detour, so we'll proceed on foot..."

"Kraft, you guys take a detour later and continue along Marshal Santa Cruz Avenue. I hope to hear news of the state television station being taken over within an hour..."

"Boss, we guarantee the completion of the mission!"

"Lao'er, the train station and airport are up to you!"

"Don't worry, boss!"

After completing the mission, Yuri waved his hand, and a reinforced company of over two hundred people hurried towards Numar's residence under his leadership. A large group of fully armed soldiers marching on the streets of La Paz quickly aroused the alertness of some people. When they reached the vicinity of Colonel Numar's residence, a loudspeaker from behind a makeshift defense made of sandbags was raised by government soldiers, asking loudly, "Which unit do you belong to... Stop advancing... Do not come any closer... This is a restricted area ordered by the President. No one is allowed near without orders..." After the announcement, whether it was an accidental discharge or to intimidate them, a gunshot was heard from the opposite side. Yuri was startled, but quickly regained his composure. It was a shot fired into the air. He had previously visited Colonel Numar's residence and, using night vision binoculars, observed that there were only about ten soldiers responsible for guarding the area.

"The defenders are only a dozen or so in number, but they have set up two machine guns behind the sandbag defenses, which makes it troublesome for my Millennium Zombie Girlfriend. Let's not make any moves for now. Those of you who have experience with rocket launchers, come out and find a suitable place nearby to take out those sandbag defenses. Once that's done, we'll deal with them in one fell swoop!" Having served in the US military for several years, Yuri still remembered basic military tactics. It wouldn't be a problem for three or four people to crouch behind the makeshift sandbag defenses near Colonel Numar's residence. The troublesome part was that each defense was equipped with a machine gun. Yuri didn't want to experience the feeling of being hit by it at close range, even with a bulletproof vest.

Fortunately, the mercenaries not only outnumbered them but also had decent equipment. Several soldiers carrying rocket launchers immediately discreetly separated from the group and went to find a suitable location nearby to take out the sandbag defenses with the machine guns.

"Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh..." "Bang!" Soon, there were several explosions. Fire and light rose in front of Yuri's group as each sandbag defense took two or three rocket hits, sending the sandbags flying tens of meters away.

"A line, charge!" Seeing the successful destruction of the sandbag defenses, Yuri made a sweeping gesture, and dozens of mercenaries shouted loudly, opening fire to suppress the defenders at Villa, while quickly advancing towards Villa. This kind of loose charge was the most dangerous. Most of the mercenaries' military skills were rusty, and their discipline was lacking. Despite their numerical and equipment advantages, a few mercenaries were hit by bullets during the charge, but luckily none were fatal, and simple first aid was enough.

With the sandbag defenses gone and their numbers thoroughly suppressed, the dozen or so defenders either retreated to nearby alleys and escaped by climbing over walls or fell back into Villa, but soon they surrendered to the invincible Yuri. After confirming it was safe, Yuri, under the protection of his team, walked slowly into Villa and finally met Numar, who had been under house arrest for two days.

"Oh, Yuri, my friend. It feels so good to see you again..." As soon as he saw Yuri and his fully armed mercenaries, Colonel Numar, who had lost contact with the outside world for two days and lived in constant anxiety, almost ran toward him with steps that didn't match his physique, opening his arms for an enthusiastic embrace.

"Colonel, it's great to see you again!" Yuri smiled and warmly hugged him, then said with a smile, "Although I really want to have a good chat with you about the past few days, it's obviously not the time for that now. Prepare yourself, Colonel. Oh no, I should address you as 'Your Excellency, the President' from now on. The presidential residence, police headquarters, and other places have been bombed. My men have already taken over the parliament building and the train station not long ago. They are currently advancing towards the airport and the Ministry of the Interior..." Before he could finish his words, a voice of good news came through the communicator in his tactical helmet.

"Boss, we've taken control of the national television station..."

"Excellent!" He responded through the microphone, then closed it with a smile and looked at Numar.

"Your Excellency, you better prepare a nationwide speech... We have taken control of the national television station. My men will escort you to the station immediately to prepare for the announcement of the coup to the whole country!" As Yuri spoke, Colonel Numar's eyes instantly curved with a smile, and his chubby face trembled.

"Really..." His voice trembled, clearly not expecting Yuri and his team to be so powerful and efficient. From the beginning of the explosions until now, it had taken just over two hours to capture almost all the important targets in the plan.

Facing his gaze, Yuri put on a seemingly gentle and harmless smile and nodded slightly. "So, let's get ready to depart. Mr. President..." ...

On February 13, 2008, the day before Valentine's Day in the Western world, a coup took place in Bolivia, a landlocked country in South America, in the early hours of the morning. It didn't attract much attention from the public. Colonel Numar, a former senior officer in the Bolivian Army, launched an armed coup in the capital city of La Paz due to his dissatisfaction with the socialist policies implemented by the former president, as well as the nationalization of mines and oil fields operated by foreign and private companies.

The coup was successful at an astonishing speed. Seven important targets, including the presidential residence, police headquarters, and the capital's garrison base, were hit by missile strikes. Over a hundred politicians, including the former president and the Minister of the Interior, went missing in the explosions and the coup. Thousands of soldiers and police officers also went missing or died. In less than four hours, the coup forces completely took control of the capital city of La Paz and began to restore order.

Colonel Numar, through the national television station, immediately announced the coup to the entire country. After reporting the unfortunate demise of the former president and others in the coup, he declared the establishment of an interim government and appointed himself as the interim government's acting president and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. Through the television station, he called for loyalty from over forty thousand soldiers and police officers in the army, navy, and air force, as well as the over thirty thousand police officers nationwide. He promised to increase the benefits for the military and police as soon as possible, while ensuring the status of the Supreme Court located in the legal capital of Sucre. He also promised not to let the coup further impact the stability of the country. The interim government would make every effort to maintain stability and ensure the prompt holding of new parliamentary elections.

Bolivia was in a state of uproar.
