Speaking of which, Sun Cheng was able to come up with this method when he passed by a promotional billboard for a commercial building under development on his way to Base No. 1 this afternoon.

However, using a laboratory to conceal Base No. 1, which is being built in the mountains, is obviously just a temporary solution and not a fundamental solution.

Sun Cheng himself is well aware of this. As he stood by the river, several kilometers away, he felt the evening breeze brushing against his cheeks, accompanied by the moist mist in the air. The momentary coolness revitalized him amidst the scorching summer heat.

"I'm heading back now. I'll leave the security of the base to you..."

"Yes!"

After descending from the mountain, he parked his all-terrain vehicle directly in the warehouse at the construction site. Sun Cheng picked up his pickup truck, locked the construction site gate after leaving, and then headed towards his residence.

Taking a detour on the road and carefully evading any potential surveillance, he finally arrived back at his apartment.

Having spent a considerable amount of time at Base No. 1, when he returned home, it was already past ten o'clock in the evening.

"I'm back!"

As he pushed the door open, Sun Cheng noticed that the lights in the living room were still on. Subconsciously, he called out into the room before closing the door and locking it behind him as he entered.

To his surprise, he didn't see Ye Qi's figure in the living room. First, he glanced towards the kitchen and bathroom, but the lights were off. Then, he headed towards the bedroom.

The apartment Sun Cheng rented was quite spacious, consisting of three bedrooms, one living room, one bathroom, and one kitchen, spanning over 120 square meters.

He currently resided in the master bedroom, while the adjacent bedroom had been converted into a study by the landlord, lacking a bed.

Ever since Ye Qi came to live with him, she had been occupying the smallest bedroom across from the study and next to the bathroom.

The monthly rent for this apartment was not cheap, but it was definitely worth the price. The interior decoration was meticulously done, and the furniture and appliances were all complete. The soundproofing in the bedroom was far superior to that of the previous apartment he briefly rented.

Hence, when Sun Cheng arrived in front of Ye Qi's bedroom door, he finally heard a faint melody emanating from inside the room.

"...Sometimes, you miss the days of the past. But when you innocently left, you didn't say a word. You merely waved your hand, as if discarding waste paper, claiming it to be an inevitable part of life. After drinking seven parts, I still feel a sense of loss..."

Despite the walls and door obstructing the sound, he could still make out the beautiful melody.

Sun Cheng stood silently in front of the bedroom door, listening attentively.

In truth, he had never objected to Ye Qi singing. It was not only because she enjoyed it and possessed a great singing voice, but also because Sun Cheng himself enjoyed listening to her sing.

However, he was a selfish man, just like anyone else, reluctant to share the things he loved with others.

So be it!

The moving melody made Sun Cheng involuntarily halt outside Ye Qi's bedroom and listen silently for quite some time, until the song ended and her voice could be heard from within the room.

After confirming that she was broadcasting live again as usual, he merely furrowed his brows slightly before entering the adjacent bathroom. After a quick wash, he returned to his bedroom directly, having already had dinner outside.

Sun Cheng's room held many secrets. Even though there were no outsiders present, he took a dry towel to wipe his hair while turning on the air conditioning, and he made sure to lock the door behind him. He sat down by the window and directed his gaze toward the computer placed quietly on the corner desk—a desktop computer.

"Vengeance, lock the current location of ai-001!"

"Understood, master!"

The screen of the transforming desktop computer, Vengeance, flickered momentarily, quickly displaying a somewhat vague map.

Ai-001, the small device Sun Cheng had discreetly left in a green area within the Supercomputing Center earlier that morning, was actually a "Intrusive Micro Spider Robot" designed by Teletraan and manufactured by the Decepticons' engineers.

Though its size was much smaller than a reconnaissance robot, this miniaturized machine spy possessed formidable capabilities that shouldn't be underestimated. Its inconspicuous size made it difficult to detect, and it could temporarily take control of certain electronic devices, making it an expert at infiltrating highly classified organizations and facilities.

Continuing to towel-dry his not yet fully dried hair, Sun Cheng carefully examined the map displayed on the screen. He had previously investigated the Nandu Supercomputing Center, and during his visit today, he paid close attention to his surroundings, even memorizing the areas he passed through.

After scrutinizing the map for a while, he reluctantly determined that ai-001 should still be in its original location, where he had left it that morning. Immediately, he remotely commanded Vengeance, "Go and find the 'Northern Wind' series of supercomputers, then infiltrate and retrieve all the stored information. Remember, stay concealed..."

With a glint of cold determination in his eyes, Sun Cheng issued his commanding voice.

The country's two most renowned supercomputers were the 'Baiyang' and 'Northern Wind' series.

The former, Baiyang, was China's earliest supercomputer model, initially utilized for the development of nuclear weapons before being predominantly employed in large-scale national projects, surveying and mapping, weather forecasting, and marine information processing.

On the other hand, the 'Northern Wind' series, which Sun Cheng was particularly interested in and was willing to risk discovery and arrest to investigate, was a military-designed supercomputer created exclusively for the Supercomputing Center.

Reportedly, the 'Northern Wind' series comprised three types with a total of five units. One unit was located within a research institution affiliated with the Northwest National Defense University, another resided in the Army Equipment Research Institute, a third was housed within the Aerospace Center, and a fourth was situated in a research institution under the Mawei Naval Command Academy. The final unit remained at the Nandu Supercomputing Center.

Sun Cheng was unaware if the 'Northern Wind' series supercomputer at the Nandu Supercomputing Center was still involved in military projects. However, he was willing to take the chance, as it would allow him to gauge his country's true capabilities and potentially open doors for future cooperation.

Additionally, he entertained the hope of discovering technological advancements he could harness for his own use.

While Sun Cheng possessed a considerable amount of Cybertronian technology, there were significant disparities between the civilization and technological development of mechanical life forms and human civilization. On Earth, the Cybertronians possessed far more advanced technology in thermal nuclear power generation than humans, yet they had not developed the terrifying weapons capable of easily destroying mechanical bodies—nuclear weapons—hinting at the discrepancies.

After receiving the order, Vengeance immediately remotely awakened AI-001, and on the screen it projected, the light dot representing AI-001 began to move rapidly.

Meanwhile, Sun Cheng didn't keep his gaze fixed on it.

Having given the order, he ran his hand through his nearly dry hair, casually tossing the towel onto the nearby table, and then lay down on the bed.

"Revenge, keep watch for me..."

After instructing Revenge to be vigilant on his behalf, lying on the bed, he slowly closed his eyes, silently summoning that enigmatic spherical space in his mind.
