Thanks to the data previously provided by Onslaught, they managed to develop a powerful heart capable of providing abundant energy for the combat robots after overcoming some challenges.

However, the manufacturing efficiency couldn't match the early days when their technology was still immature, and it took nearly two days for a single engineer to produce a set of central cores for the combat robots.

Nevertheless, despite the numerous challenges, the power unleashed by Base No. 2 was not to be underestimated.

On the day before they were set to depart for Lop Nur in western Xinjiang, thanks to the efforts of Atlas and the industrial robots, the total number of combat robots standing before Sun Cheng reached an astonishing seven.

Inside the laboratory, Sun Cheng looked at the combat robots that had been sent for final adjustments, feeling somewhat dissatisfied.

His dissatisfaction wasn't regarding the quantity but rather the performance.

Because Atlas and the others were still experimenting with alternative options for the three rare metals lacking on Earth, none of the five combat robots that had been manufactured were equipped with the Steel Saber.

Considering that the availability of the new alloy was unknown, close combat remained one of the weaknesses of these combat robots.

His gaze couldn't help but shift towards the shoulders of the combat robots in front of him, each equipped with a plasma shoulder cannon that closely resembled the one seized from the ghost. It was a slightly modified version created by Atlas and the team based on the ghost's shoulder cannon.

The so-called P2 standard was a set of calculation standards established by the engineers to determine the power of the plasma-based energy weapons they designed.

These standards consisted of five levels, ranging from lowest to highest: P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5.

Taking the original ghost's plasma shoulder cannon as an example, it fell under the P2 level in these standards. The plasma shoulder cannon mainly fired highly concentrated energy projectiles, with explosive power slightly exceeding that of five kilograms of high-energy mixed explosives. A single shot was enough to destroy infantry fighting vehicles or even obliterate third-generation main battle tanks from the side.

The P1 level was slightly inferior to P2 and referred to a low-power plasma pistol. Sun Cheng had requested the engineers to design this weapon for their real-world applications. It also fired highly concentrated energy projectiles, with each bullet possessing power equivalent to only 0.5 kilograms of ordinary explosives. However, one shot was sufficient to destroy standard cars or even bulletproof sedans. Although it was ineffective against weapons such as infantry fighting vehicles, its advantage lay in its low energy consumption.

The explosive power of P3/P4 approached the standards of 30 kilograms and 150 kilograms of high-energy mixed explosives, respectively. Only plasma weapons meeting or exceeding the P3 standard could pose a fatal threat to advanced Autobot and Decepticon warriors. Sun Cheng's current equipment comprised a P4-level plasma weapon capable of tearing through the mechanical body armor of Autobots, armor so resilient that not even missiles could penetrate it.

However, the greater the power of the plasma weapon, the higher the energy consumption.

Sun Cheng's current P4-level plasma cannon required 80 energy points per shot.

It is imaginable that a plasma weapon like the P5 level, designed by Atlas, possesses an explosive power equivalent to a 500-kilogram weapon. The energy consumption in such cases can reach terrifying levels.

Furthermore, energy weapons like plasma have a significant drawback!

The process of extracting energy from the Spark or Core, transmitting it to the weapon, and then firing it takes several seconds.

Do not underestimate these few seconds. Unless in a noisy environment, it is easy for highly agile Decepticons or advanced Autobot warriors to dodge the attack in one-on-one situations.

Therefore, while plasma weapons have considerable power, the energy consumption and drawbacks are quite apparent.

Currently, Forerunner and Frenzy were in Sun Cheng's laboratory, each handling a P3-level plasma hand cannon. Satisfaction was evident on their faces.

However, it was apparent that their attention wasn't solely focused on their new weapons.

Upon hearing his words, Forerunner instinctively holstered his weapon and asked, "Master, do you intend to take some action?"

"Action..." Sun Cheng mumbled for a moment, his gaze fixed on Forerunner and Frenzy before slowly nodding and saying, "Yes!"

Sun Cheng held high expectations for the upcoming trip to China and Russia.

If everything went as smoothly as he envisioned, this journey would not only resolve the perennial issue of inadequate energy supply but also provide Sun Cheng and his team with a continuous supply of materials and rare metals from both China and Russia. Additionally, his new mechanical body would also be completed soon with the help of these resources.

Comparatively, it seemed like a safe and profitable deal to trade some of Cybertron's outdated technologies with China and Russia.

Moreover, even if he chose not to engage in this business, it didn't mean the Autobots would refrain from doing so.

Sun Cheng couldn't believe that Optimus Prime had merely partnered with the U.S. government to combat the Decepticons without conducting any clandestine transactions.

If that were the case, he would be relieved.

From the very beginning, Optimus Prime established contact with the most powerful country on Earth, the United States. However, it seemed that he missed the opportunity to secure greater benefits for the entire Autobot group. The young Autobot leader was just like that.

Shifting his gaze between Forerunner and Frenzy, Sun Cheng initially intended to take both of them along on this mission. However, after contemplating for a moment, he dismissed the idea.

The upcoming operation might require the use of the spherical space storage function, and Sun Cheng didn't wish to expose his ability. Additionally, the No. 2 base required personnel to remain and keep watch.

Immediately, he turned to Atlas and ordered, "How is the preparation of the technical materials I asked you to organize these past two days?"

"Master, as per your instructions, I have sorted out dozens of technologies currently available to humans on Earth."

After a brief exchange of glances, Sun Cheng quickly received the dozens of technologies Atlas had organized. He dismissed everyone and then scanned the surroundings, ensuring that none of the engineers had secretly installed monitoring equipment in his laboratory. Only then did he wave his hand and bring all seven combat robots into the spherical space.

After spending some time in the laboratory, briefly organizing the technology provided by Atlas, and realizing that time was running out, Sun Cheng initiated a remote communication with Hephaestus. He then left Base No. 2 and flew towards the South Pacific region.

The journey to China is about to begin!
