A precious dinosaur died, causing a big commotion. Dr. Hammond quickly received the news.

Under the protection of a team of security personnel, he arrived at the scene. As soon as he approached and glanced at the dead dinosaur, his face turned pale and grim. His lips trembled with anger as he commanded in a loud voice, "Investigate, investigate carefully..."

As expected, the security personnel on the island were the first to be suspected.

This was not surprising at all. If there were anyone on the island capable of hunting dinosaurs, it would be difficult to exclude them from suspicion.

However, although there were many monitors installed on Isla Nublar, it was impossible to monitor the entire island, which covered hundreds of square kilometers, with just a few dozen monitors. Dr. Hammond was well aware of this fact. He quickly found an excuse and entrusted Dr. Grant and his wife to welcome his newly arrived grandchildren to the island, asking them to go elsewhere first.

Although Sun Cheng and the others had the status of potential investors, they were essentially guests and naturally continued to explore the island.

"... It seems that this island is not peaceful either..."

Leah, the manager from MHG, smiled and spoke. Although Sun Cheng was not sure about the details of the negotiations between MHG and Hammond, he could sense the sarcasm in Leah's words, implying that their efforts might be in vain.

It made sense when you thought about it. International Genetic Technologies was selling excellent technology, and even someone like him who was just tagging along was tempted. Not to mention these savvy venture capitalists who were more shrewd than anyone else.

However, was the meat that Hammond presented really delicious? Not necessarily!

Every family, except for Sun Cheng, wanted to monopolize the 15% financing quota. It now depended on whose conditions would entice Hammond the most. Currently, it seemed that Burton from Sequoia Capital had the greatest advantage. Sequoia had already invested in International Genetic Technologies in the previous rounds, and even though everyone's conditions were similar, Sequoia had a better chance.

Moreover, with Sequoia's strength, they probably wanted to monopolize this financing.

Burton seemed to have some ideas too and echoed, "There are no outsiders on the island. If something happens, it must be InGen's (International Genetic Technologies) responsibility!"

However, he seemed thoughtful and said, "But this incident reminds me that after the park starts operating, we can create a designated area to raise some dinosaurs and issue hunting licenses to attract wealthy individuals to come to the island for dinosaur hunting!"

The headquarters of International Genetic Technologies was located in Palo Alto, California, USA, and its initial research center was also located there. So whether it was Burton and the other venture capitalists from the United States or Dr. Hammond, they all had plans to build another park on the mainland of the United States after the operation of Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar.

However, although the United States had targeted hunting policies for many protected animals from other countries, it was obviously impossible to obtain a permit for dinosaurs, creatures that went extinct millions of years ago.

Sitting in the off-road tour vehicle, they spent the entire afternoon exploring the island. Except for several heavily guarded high-risk forest areas that were not allowed to be approached due to incomplete construction, they circled the entire island. Even the largest 17-story twin hotel, which was still under construction on the island, they toured around wearing hard hats.

By the time dinner approached, the sky had changed dramatically. It became increasingly gloomy, and even the sea breeze had a different scent. As they drove along the island's ring road, Sun Cheng glanced outside and clearly saw the waves crashing against the protective embankment, foaming white. Wave after wave relentlessly attacked, as if wanting to swallow the entire island.

With security personnel and construction workers, there were over a thousand people on Isla Nublar. Considering the current facilities on the island, it was impossible to ensure everyone's safety in the event of a storm. Therefore, arrangements were made for some people to evacuate by boat.

The last boat to send people back from the island had already departed. Most of those who chose to temporarily leave the island in the storm were construction workers hired from nearby Costa Rica or researchers from the research center.

Because a dinosaur was mysteriously killed, the security personnel on the island were primarily held responsible. Apart from the ten or so people who had already evacuated by boat, the remaining twenty or so people stayed behind. Dr. Hammond requested them to thoroughly investigate whether there were any hidden dangers on the island, such as possible intruders or thieves. Furthermore, he wanted them to prove their innocence.

A group of venture capitalists were indeed used to being pampered, and even though they had been leisurely touring the island by car for a while, they were starting to feel tired.

As some of them began to feel tired, Hammond made a clever move and notified them to return for the feast. It was said that he had arranged for a Japanese chef to come from San Jose and had flown in fresh tuna. It seemed that he was preparing to treat them to some sashimi!

However, Dr. Grant and the other doctors did not accompany them!

Compared to Sun Cheng and the others who were there for sightseeing, although the doctors were accompanied by Hammond's grandchildren, they didn't forget to study the dinosaurs on the island. As a result, they came across a sick Triceratops on the way and surrounded it without leaving.

Sun Cheng and the others were initially curious and observed from a close distance for a while. They never expected that Dr. Saddler, a true heroine, would inspect the cause of the Triceratops' illness by reaching her hand into a pile of dinosaur feces and examining it. This disgusting scene made everyone feel nauseous, and they quickly separated from Dr. Grant and the others, going their separate ways.

Although there are several villas on the island, in terms of scale, apart from the two twin hotels that are still under construction, the research center is the best.

When the convoy finally returned to the research center, the sound of raindrops and the howling wind outside had become even more intense.

"... Where are Dr. Grant and the others? What's going on? Can't contact them yet?"

As Sun Cheng followed a team of people into the research center, he saw Dr. Hammond with a grim face scolding someone.

"The communication devices in the vehicles may have been disrupted by the storm. We can't reach them at the moment... However, half an hour ago, we sent people to the last known location of their disappearance. We should receive a reply soon..."

The person being scolded by Dr. Hammond was the head of security on the island, named Kiel Boye, a serious-looking middle-aged man who was said to have a background in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Sun Cheng had a good impression of this man who rarely smiled. Kiel Boye managed the island's security meticulously. Although he was a hired worker, he had stood up for his subordinates several times when they encountered dangerous carnivorous dinosaurs while transporting them on the island. He even fought with Dr. Hammond several times, demanding the cancellation of resurrecting carnivorous dinosaurs.

In the afternoon, although they only observed the Velociraptors, Dilophosaurs, and Tyrannosaurs on the island from a distance through protective walls and cages, Sun Cheng could read the undisguised killing intent and hatred from those cold animal eyes.

International Genetic Technologies was playing with fire!

Even the bears, lions, tigers, and snakes kept in zoos occasionally harmed people, let alone these prehistoric predators!

Clearly, Dr. Hammond hadn't realized how dangerous it was to confine the fierce killing machines he had created in cages for people's amusement.

Just as they approached, Sun Cheng suddenly stopped in his tracks, disturbed by a sharp crackling sound of radio waves.

He looked towards the source of the interference and saw Kiel Boye taking out a wireless communication device from his waist and turning it on. "Hachi, have you found Dr. Grant and the others yet?"

"No, boss... We've been to the location, but we didn't find their vehicle. We're now heading to the D4 area..."

Kilboy looked up at the gloomy-faced Dr. Hammond and continued instructing, "Understood. Drive faster, the storm is approaching..."

Before he could finish his sentence, a piercing scream came through the wireless communication device, followed by a loud crash, indicating that the device had been dropped to the ground.

Kilboy was startled by the scream and crash, but his mental fortitude was decent. After quickly recovering, he hurriedly asked, "What's going on, Hachi? What's happening on your end..."

"Da-da-da..."

In response, there was a series of chaotic M16 gunfire, which continued for a while before finally ceasing. Then, there was a burst of noisy static, and no more sounds came through!
