Clark was carrying Bat Cat and walking on the streets of Gotham. He sighed lightly and said:
"Well, I can understand that they don't want a Metropolis person involved in the local murder case, as it would be detrimental to their city's reputation, but I feel that I could still be of some help. If the killer is too brutal, I can help knock him out."
"Actually, they just think you can't do the deduction." Bat Cat spoke up: "And you completely don't understand the way those crazies operate."
"What's there to understand?" Clark shook his head and said: "Find the killer, punch him unconscious, does that need any complicated operation?"
"How come you still don't understand? Gotham is actually a playground for the crazies, everyone here is obsessed with these crazy and bizarre cases, enjoying the process of solving them, just like everyone knows the carousel is just spinning in place, but there are still plenty of people willing to pay to ride it."
Clark shook his head disapprovingly and said, "They're too troublesome. The killer comes up with a series of complex plans to commit the crime, and the police and detectives also come up with a series of plans to crack the case. Why can't they just think of things simply?"
"If they were all as simple-minded and easily satisfied as the people of Metropolis, Gotham wouldn't be like this today," Bat Cat commented.
"Anyway, Professor Schiller called me on the phone earlier and said he's opened a new bookstore. I'll go check it out, and I also have a colleague whose birthday is next month, a hardcover book should make a nice gift."
Clark quickened his pace, following the address Schiller had given him on the phone, crossing Gotham's central roundabout and turning into one of the commercial streets.
As soon as he entered the street, Clark paused, hearing the sounds of a fight and the sound of objects being destroyed, but he didn't see any robbers or gunfire.
Clark didn't have spirit realm vision and couldn't do magic, so he couldn't see the magnificent scene of the sorcerers battling with magic, but his hearing and touch were far superior to ordinary people. Even from a distance, he could feel that someone was fighting.
Bat Cat, being a product of the Dream of Thousand Cats, didn't need spirit realm vision to directly see the effects of the spells. As Clark ran with it in his arms, it shouted, "Those are sorcerers, they're using magic to fight."
"How do I deal with them?"
"Give them a punch."
"Boom!"
Zatanna, holding a magic shield, slowly turned her head, looking at the sorcerer who had just been sent flying towards her. He had indeed flown over, but not of his own volition.
The moment Clark appeared at the door, in addition to knocking one of the sorcerers away, Bat Cat had leaped out of his arms and jumped onto another sorcerer's face, viciously swiping at his eyes.
Sensing the enemy attack from behind, the black-robed sorcerer leader quickly cast a teleportation spell, moving away from Clark while conjuring a dazzling ball of magical light in his hand.
Zatanna's eyes widened, her expression grave. She took a step forward and raised her hands, and a magic wall appeared in front of her. At the same time, she shouted to Clark, "He's going to cause an explosion, get away!"
"Boom!"
The dazzling light suddenly erupted with violent havoc, scattering fragments across the entire room. Except for the area blocked by Zatanna's magic wall, the rest of the place was hit by the powerful impact.
As the light gradually faded, the sorcerer who had used magic did not try to escape using the impact of the explosion, because he felt that the impact of this explosion would be enough to deal with the majority of beings in the human realm.
But when the smoke cleared, the fist the size of a sandbag was in front of him, and Clark had knocked the sorcerer to the ground with a punch.
At this moment, he heard a strange sound from behind him, a hissing sound that didn't stop, accompanied by some vibrations. But since Clark didn't understand magic, he didn't realize that this was the sign of the magic array being activated.
Zatanna took a magician's baton out of her top hat and lightly tapped it towards Clark's back, sending a beam of light flying out and knocking the female sorcerer who was gathering the magic array backwards.
The black-robed female sorcerer was thrown back and crashed heavily into the bookstore door frame. When her hood fell, an extremely aged face was revealed, but from her neck and fingers, her actual age was not that old, her face had just become that of an old crone.
The female sorcerer glared fiercely at Zatanna, her eyes full of jealousy and rage as if she wanted to swallow her whole. But then she started laughing maniacally and shouted, "Zatanna! You can't escape! And Constantine, we've already made a deal with Gabriel, and he will personally come to apprehend the fugitives of the magical realm!"
"You think the staff I just activated was summoning a demon? I wouldn't pay such a high price to summon a weak demon. What's about to descend here is the great Archangel - Gabriel!"
Clark looked at the female sorcerer with some bewilderment and asked, "What did you say? Who is going to descend here?"
"You damned monster!" the female sorcerer cursed. "You Gotham people are all a bunch of monsters, unreasonable lunatics! The radiance of the Archangel will descend from Heaven to purify everything!"
Accompanying her shrill cries, a bright light shone down from the clouds... from the clouds... from...
Clark stepped out of the bookstore door, looking up at the dark clouds over Gotham. They kept opening and closing cracks, opening and closing.
Clark looked up while scratching Bat Cat's head and said, "What's going on? Is this some strange optical phenomenon?"
Zatanna also came out, looking up at the dark clouds that kept opening and closing. The magician lady tapped her wand on her head and said, "I sense Gabriel's presence. He seems to be up in the clouds, why doesn't he come down?"
The Bat Cat in his arms sighed deeply and said, "Maybe he has to split open the clouds first before he can come down?"
Clark and Zatanna stood side by side in front of the bookstore, and after a while, the four plus one small figure and one cat were all standing in a row, looking up at the optical performance in the sky.
Clark hesitated a bit before speaking: "Could it be that... he won't be able to part the clouds?"
"I think you should go up and help him," Bat Cat said, looking up at him. "Otherwise, are we just going to stand here and watch his performance?"
Clark thought about it and felt that Bat Cat had a point, so he threw the bag on his shoulder to the nearby Zatanna, then shoved Bat Cat into Schiller's arms.
Except for Schiller, the others didn't know what Clark was going to do, and in their shocked gaze, Clark took off from the spot and flew straight into the clouds.
Harley's mouth dropped open, but then an even more shocking scene unfolded - a figure with pure white wings flew out of the cloud layer, and it was clear he didn't fly out voluntarily.
Clark, who was flying in mid-air, followed closely, punching him again and again, and the huge white wings were beaten until the feathers were scattered. Clark threw an uppercut, knocking the winged Angel away, then raised both arms and slammed him down with his elbows.
"Boom!!!"
Thomas, Zatanna, Schiller, and Harley looked down at the unfortunate Angel in the big pit in front of them, and the Clark who had just stood up.
Clark shrugged and said, "These days, anyone dares to impersonate an Angel."
He then looked back at the Angel in the pit, who was covered in smoke, and said disdainfully, "Even if you want to pretend to be an Angel, you should at least arrange a more grand appearance, right? How could an Angel descend and be blocked by dark clouds?"
Clark shook his head as he walked out of the big pit, seemingly not understanding the other's actions. A few seconds later, the Angel in the pit coughed heavily and spat out some smoke, then shakily stood up from the pit.
Schiller shielded his eyes, trying to see the Angel's appearance clearly to determine which version of Gabriel it was, but before he could fully see, a sharp braking sound came from the street corner.
"Screech!!"
A completely black, very cool-looking sports car came speeding from the street corner, drifting around the corner, the tires screeching on the ground and black smoke billowing.
The bat emblem on the car hood showed that it was Batman's Batmobile, but the driver was not Batman, but a child, and the passenger was another child.
Behind the Batmobile, there was another car also driving very fast, chasing after the Batmobile. The driver of this sports car had his face wrapped in bandages, but his exposed eyes showed a fierce and angry expression.
"Get out of the way!!!" Jason stuck his head out of the passenger seat and shouted.
"Tim! Brake!" Batman's cape fluttered as he leaped down from the rooftop, then used a grappling hook to swing up to the Batmobile overhead.
"I won't brake!!!" Tim shouted.
Tim looked left and right at the Batmobile's control panel, and just as Jason was about to reach out to stop him, Tim directly found a button he thought looked the best and slammed it down hard.
Instantly, the Batmobile lost control, the body swerving and hitting a street lamp, then flying off.
Seeing such a large car flying towards them, Zatanna's eyes widened and she was about to teleport, but remembering that there were a few ordinary people around her, the magical glow lit up and she brought Thomas, Schiller, and Harley to the nearby building's rooftop.
The Angel who had just climbed up from the pit saw the out-of-control black car coming towards him, and he disdainfully waved his wings, wanting to knock the car away, but the next second he was directly knocked away.
After landing, Batman did a roll, and a voice came from the Batmobile: "Hold on! Prepare for ejection!"
Tim, Jason, Dick, and Aisha in the front and back seats all buckled their seatbelts tightly, and with a mechanical grinding sound, the Batmobile's overhead hatch opened, and Batman pressed a button on his arm, and "whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh" four seats were ejected.
All the seats had safety protection devices, so when Dick and Tim's seats landed, other than having to crawl out and start vomiting, they didn't suffer any real harm.
Jason's seat was ejected and just happened to hit a street lamp pole, crashing straight into the storefront of a nearby bookstore, shattering the entire curved glass window and rolling a few times before stopping in the middle of the store.
Aisha's seat was the most unlucky, after being ejected it hit the car chasing them, then bounced forward, knocking down the Angel who had just climbed back up.
The Angel flapped his wings and flew up, and Aisha, who had just crawled out of the safety device, saw the glowing creature flailing in front of her and immediately bit down on it.
A scream rang out, attracting the attention of Clark, who was standing by the street lamp. Thinking Aisha had been taken hostage by the Angel, he roared and rushed forward, grabbing Aisha.
Aisha refused to let go, and Clark spun around 360 degrees, taking the Angel he was biting with him. Aisha finally let go, and the Angel was unwillingly "whooshed" away, crashing into the side of the car chasing the Batmobile.
The huge force caused the car to crash into the building on the side of the street, and "boom", half a street collapsed.
Standing on the rooftop, Harley stared in disbelief at all this, then slowly turned her head to look at Schiller and screamed:
"Explosions, aliens, and Batman... I told you my precautions were necessary!!! My house!!!!!!"
