Wang Hong had not been out of the city for long when another group of Demonic Beasts emerged, led by none other than Yuanshan, the manager of the Heaven Demon Pavilion.

Originally, Heaven Demon Pavilion upheld strict principles and placed great emphasis on their business reputation. They had never entertained the idea of attacking customers before.

However, this time was an exception. Their adherence to principles had been contingent on the absence of substantial gains. When faced with a fortune equivalent to almost half of Heaven Demon Pavilion, their greed could no longer be contained.

This group consisted of five third-tier Demonic Beasts, with Yuanshan at the forefront, a remarkable third-tier high-quality Demonic Beast, equivalent to the late stage of the Human Clan's Golden Core realm.

One wolf-like Yao extended its nose, struggling to discern the residual scent in the air. It led the pack of Demonic Beasts in pursuit of the scent's direction.

After chasing for hundreds of miles, the Demon Wolves suddenly stopped, seemingly having lost their target's trail.

"Wolf Fellow Daoist, have you sensed the opponent's location?" Yuanshan inquired.

"It's strange; the scent seems to have vanished here," the Demon Wolves spoke with bewilderment.

"It's impossible for them to have discovered us so quickly!"

Yuanshan was also puzzled. To enable long-distance tracking, they had concealed a special scent amidst a heap of Spiritual Objects materials. This unique scent was undetectable by most humans and Demonic Beasts, only perceivable by a few select races.

In theory, the other party should not have discovered it so soon.

This unique scent was challenging to isolate, even when enclosed in a Storage Bag, making it easy for them to locate.

"Keep pursuing! Split up and search; they must be nearby. If you find a trace, send a signal immediately."

Yuanshan bellowed, confident that the opponent, burdened with such a large crate, would find it difficult to escape or hide.

The five third-tier Demonic Beasts then dispersed, each searching in different directions.

While Yuanshan was in the midst of his search, he suddenly heard a beastly roar—a frantic, pitiful sound!

He hastened toward the source of the noise. Upon arrival, he found only a pool of blood on the ground, without a single corpse in sight.

At that moment, the other three Demonic Beasts also arrived from different directions, equally perplexed by the lack of any discovery.

"Where is the Wolf Fellow Daoist?" one of the Demonic Beasts asked.

"I don't know either; when I arrived, all I saw was this pool of blood," Yuanshan shook his head. Losing the assistance of the wolf-like Yao made tracking the opponent even more challenging.

"Let's continue searching in this area; they can't have gone too far. Be cautious, everyone."

The remaining four Demonic Beasts began a thorough search in the vicinity.

One of them moved cautiously through a small forest, remaining vigilant and observant of the surroundings, without the slightest hint of carelessness.

As he passed a large tree, a Daoist Master's silhouette silently manifested from the tree trunk. Previously, this Daoist Master's form had merged seamlessly with the tree, and he had effortlessly strolled by, going completely unnoticed.

Once the Daoist Master's form emerged, a gleaming, frosty dagger appeared in his hand. With the speed of a shooting star, he struck at the back of the unsuspecting Demonic Beast.

By the time the Demonic Beast felt it, it was too late. It only sensed a sharp pain at the back of its neck, and its head separated from its body.

At this moment, the other three Demonic Beasts were not far away. Hearing the commotion, they turned to see a figure swiftly collecting the corpse of the slain Demonic Beast before making a hasty escape.

"Chase after them!" Yuanshan roared in anger, leading the pursuit. He felt a profound sense of humiliation that the assailant had struck right before his eyes.

The remaining three Demonic Beasts pursued relentlessly, but they couldn't fathom the technique their quarry was employing, as their speed was extraordinarily swift.

The figure ahead transformed into a blur, and within a few blinks of an eye, it had covered a considerable distance.

After chasing around a corner of a peak, they lost sight of Wang Hong's tracks once again.

This time, the three Demonic Beasts decided not to separate and stayed together, searching methodically behind the peak.

They had considered leaving the pursuit, but their pride was at stake. Having come all this way, they couldn't let the assailant escape, especially after being attacked under their noses.

It wasn't that they couldn't defeat their opponent; it was the sneak attacks and hit-and-run tactics that fueled their frustration.

Unbeknownst to them, Wang Hong had concealed the wooden crate in his Spatial Storage, a realm entirely cut off from the physical world, rendering the Demonic Beasts unable to track its location.

Additionally, he had donned a cloak he had obtained long ago from a Shadow Assassin. This cloak had the ability to obscure one's aura and Divine Sense, seamlessly blending with the surroundings, making it nearly impossible for anyone, whether by naked eye or Divine Sense, to detect him.

However, this cloak had a significant drawback – it couldn't be in motion while in use. Any movement would reveal his presence.

The Demon Wolves he had previously killed had detected his scent, leading them to Wang Hong's vicinity before he executed a surprise attack, swiftly ending their lives.

The second Demonic Beast had also had the misfortune of stumbling too close to Wang Hong, providing him with an opportunity for another ambush.

At this moment, Wang Hong was hiding amidst a jumble of rocks, merging his form with the chaotic terrain.

From his vantage point among the rocks, he observed Yuanshan leading two Demonic Beasts in a meticulous search behind the peak.

The rocky terrain was relatively open, as the stones were not very large, allowing both Wang Hong and the three Demonic Beasts to have a clear view of the surroundings.

Due to their conspicuousness and the ease of seeing everything, the three Demonic Beasts passed by several times, only giving the rocky pile a cursory glance.

They concentrated their efforts in darker areas such as shade from trees, thickets, and crevices, making it difficult for Wang Hong to launch a surprise attack.

The opponent still had three Demonic Beasts, including one of high quality at the third-tier level. Wang Hong wasn't sure if he could defeat them.

Since he lacked certainty, he decided to continue hiding. If he could ambush and kill one more of them, he might have a chance, with Poisonous Bees handling one, and he could confront the remaining one.

The three Demonic Beasts searched the hillside for half a day but found no traces, not even a single hair.

"Let's go! Let's return to where we saw it flee earlier. It didn't carry the wooden crate when it ran, so it must still be hiding in the original location. Let's go back and look there," Yuanshan instructed the other two Demonic Beasts after several rounds of fruitless searching. After all, their initial goal had been to seek wealth.

As they retraced their steps to the initial incident site in search of the wooden crate, Wang Hong discreetly revealed himself from among the rocks and quietly retreated.

He slipped away to a location not too far from the three Demonic Beasts and hid once again.

However, he waited for a long time without finding an opportunity for an ambush.

After some thought, he decided that waiting passively wouldn't be effective. He needed to attract their attention somehow.

Quietly, he retrieved a pill from his Storage Bag and tossed it a short distance away.

Using an item with too much Spiritual Energy would draw all three Demonic Beasts, making it challenging to handle them. On the other hand, an item with too little Spiritual Energy wouldn't pique their interest. Wang Hong believed that a second-tier pill should be just right.
